Total government spending is ‘too high’
KPMG Australia’s Chief Economist Brendan Rynne discusses Australia’s inflation crisis and how total government spending is “too high”.
Mr Rynne’s remarks come ahead of the federal Budget.
“Ultimately, it’s just the argument that total government spending is too high,” he told Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd.
“It’s very difficult to say there’s any one program or any one policy that’s caused this leap in government spending to change from around 24.5 per cent of GDP to 27 per cent.
“It’s just a universal loosening of the purse strings.”

How so DH?
What else can we expect from a "treasurer" who's only monetary education is getting down on his knees for Keating...
Grim Jim's level of economics is: increase taxes + increase immigration (even more taxes) - excessive government spending = small budget surplus. I wonder what Grim's excuse would be if the resources taxes weren't so generous this year. Oh that's right, someone else's fault.
Albo should do the right thing and call an election before things it worse

😂😂😂😂 right
Can we reset everything by 50%, then things might make cents.
Better allocation of money at least. Redirect the overseas humanitarian aid. Fund free university degrees for Australian students instead! There will be money left over and our kids will be debt free of HECS.
The Australian Government would have more money to spend if KPMG and PwC were not dodgey. The top end of town are causing inflation - they do not let their wealth trickle down to just anybody.
