Kasumi Shindo it’s sad that none of the other characters see them the same way the fan base do. They’re very loyal, sensitive to each other’s emotions, great with animals and are basically the least toxic group from this entire show. If they looked past how creepy they are, I think a lot of people would get along well with them

To me(as a goth),i loved these characters!They and the goths from South Park were the only goths what i see that are really near to the goth scene(i said near because,Ennui and Crimson are goth extremists,but even goths like me,we enjoy that XD). Besides when they change their outfits(when they don't have their makeup on)their clothing remind me a lot when goths go to gothic festivals as Wave Gothik Treffen,M'Era Luna,Whitby Gothic Weekend. If you watch videos of the people on these festivals,you'll agree.Even when Ennui and Crimson are on stage remind me the concerts of those festivals.

6:33 I just wanna point out that Crimson saying "totally worth it" right here is the sweetest thing ever, because she broke the rules of the challenge because she wanted to give Ennui a chance to be in the coffin. Ennui never said a word about it, but she knows him well enough to know that it's an unspoken desire of his, and didn't want to hog all the fun of feeling like a corpse or someone about to be buried alive. This is the sweetest and most mutually understanding relationship in Total Drama history.

You can tell Ennui was more affected by it than Crimson as he had a permanent sad face without his makeup. The only time his face/eyes weren't sad without it was when he suggested he and Crimson accept each other without it. And when he didn't realize the bag fell off his face during his initial performance. I have a feeling he was bullied a lot before turning goth so the makeup is a mask and makes him feel stronger. Dude nearly broke into tears on stage.

Well, that's kind of the thing. The only problem in their relationship is that they don't even know anything about each other. Their lack of communication makes them feel more like strangers to each other. They had never even seen their real faces before even though they had been dating for a long time. Other than that they do have the healthiest relationship.

the best part about to goths was how they didnt really care, werent trying that hard, and seemed like they were going early. but they stuck around for way longer then expected. had some classic priceless moments, and actually ended up being surprisingly strong players, aceing challenged left right and center, despite the apathy

This is a pretty long theory I have about goths. According to Total Drama Wiki, Ennui is among the tallest male characters in this universe without his boots, and when even a person is slightly above average height, it tends to draw different reactions, such as fear or just unwarranted hatred towards him. Perhaps at some stage of his life, people bullied Ennui, as if he were a monster because of his height, which caused him to develop an inferiority complex and insecurities, making him a weaker and more whiny person, I deduce that because, when Ennui took make-up off, he seemed to be a helpless crybaby who cried at the slightest insult, and maybe that insecurity remains even when he's made-up and that's why the cute little animals adore him, as if he wanted to comfort and said he "It's okay, it's okay, we're just like you and it's okay to be weak", and maybe the reason Ennui likes being goth is because being goth makes him feel part of something, a community of people they understand he, don't judge he, they don't fear him or treat him badly, and that's why he likes being goth so much. As for Crimson, I personally think she is the really strong part in their relationship, she, from what we know, was raised in an environment where she was forced to fight wild bulls, and when she lost her makeup, she didn't seem weak, actually, she didn't seem to care how others saw her, she still seemed calm, that's why she didn't mind taking off the bag in front of Carrie and Devin, the only time she seemed seriously scared was when Ennui approached her, which could mean, Crimson doesn't want to that Ennui stops seeing her as a dark and powerful girl, basically she is afraid that she will not like her "non-goth" side, Crimson is a strong girl, but the only thing she is afraid of is that Ennui will stop loving her. And that's why, even when they're both in makeup, it seems like it's Crimson who's really protecting Ennui, giving he the coffin experience, eating mega hot chili peppers so she doesn't have to jump from enormous heights, being willing to losing the race for him so as not to feel sad about losing Loki, telling he to calm down when he seems to be sad, Crimson cares much more for Ennui than 1 million, and seems to accept him for who he is, as she totally accepted to Loki even though he is a cute bunny. The Goticos are a simply adorable couple.

It makes a lot of sense now that you mention it, Crimson seems ready to fight the moment the besties talk to her and she only looks scared when they start saying nice things about her and when she's with Ennui, while he looks sad all the time, even when he has the paper bag on his head, you can tell that he is sad and uncomfortable.

Maybe they should dye their hair and let it grow out. Back in my emo phase I never wore any makeup except for Halloween. I just wore black clothes and let my hair grow out.

The Goths were the best b/c they work as a team and the couple really Love each other. Though they would never admit it. Additionally, they don't let circumstances phase them.

It sucks that these two got eliminated in that Mexico episode considering that they were so cool for two goths who barely talked most of the time. Add to the fact that they end up getting a pet rabbit named Loki makes them even more iconic and unforgettable.

The only difference is that black is the main color, and the others, such as reds and purples, etc are accents. I only pointed out that this chick didn't really wear black on the show even when they claim she did.

people say goths are soulless, when in reality, they still can love. they just have... different tastes... these two show it. their love for each other and Loki is a big giveaway.

Ziliken the Agressive Isopod goths *have* been noted to be ‘edgy’ or ‘soulless,’ but the slow death of cringe culture is what’s slowly denying OP’s statement. these 2 goths are based off of society’s stereotype of them (you can be goth but not emotionless and all these stereotypes match up, so they’re stereotyped on purpose for sure)

Honestly, Crimson and Ennui were actually really amazing goths and not just try-hards. This season of Total Drama was well-researched unlike World Tour and I love it and the goths

Not the Romania episode though. You can't just reach Bucharest from Vlad's castle in a single night on foot. Also, Vlad wasn't a goth, he just liked planting spike forests using the bodies of turks. No biggie

@@jubileegabrielmateo7437 Dracula the vampire is in fact NOT inspired by Vlad the impaler, Bram just used the name last minute, but the character himself wasn't actually based on the real life figure. Historical records seem to indicate Bram really didn't know much about Vlad at all, aside from MAYBE the name [though, iirc, the name Dracula was actually given out to a number of folks, not just Vlad Tepes, he's just the most famous one]

@@TheKarret actually it's more inspired with Abchartah judging from similarities of character traits. I'm not expert on history of literature but my guess is Stroker, who was Irish, wanted to base book on Irish myth, but putting his Vampire in continental Europe fitted story better for some reason and/or he knew Abchartah is too hard for av. reader to pronounce so he searched in history and picked famously brutal ruler who was in fact nicknamed "Son of the Devil" so you know, double bonus. P.S. And you don't have to search far for more "Draculas". Father of Vlad III Tepes/Draculea was literally Vlad II Draco/Dracul. Name origins are fairly simple. Vlad II was member of Societas Draconistrarum, later his nicckname was misspelled and "Draculea" literally means "Son of Devil (Dracul)" as far as I know.

@@MrParkerman6 Yeah but we're talking about cartoon here. Most of the characters seem like they're blinking with their top lid while it's been animated differently for crimson. It might look like that just cause her blinking seems to be slower compared to other characters but yeah.

I love them

Theory: If you guys didn't know this couple (met when they were 14 by hiding in the same dark corner from a group of kids (probably bullies: confirmed by fresh TV)) which could mean when crimson said "your throwing a lot of positive emotions my way and i don't know what to do with that" it hints that one of the reasons she fell in love with ennui is that he is probably the only man that has ever meant anything to her let alone person that probably spoke gently to her and bothered to get to know her (besides her grandmother apparently) and she also hints that her grandma may have passed away and she MAYBE went goth (as a phase) to cope with the pain and her parents probably didn't approve of that and her relationship with them got worse and more verbally abusive but when she met her boyfriend she realized that she wanted to be with him and was meant to stay that way Also when crimson screamed "don't look at me" it could also mean she was bullied because of her red/ginger hair and was afraid that ennui wouldn't find her beautiful anymore cause her family always teased her because of it

My favorite lines Ennui: "Don't pretend to be friendly. It's gross. Crimson: "Yes, smell your defeat."

Perfect couple.Yes, they didn't really accept themselves after revealing their true identity, But, crimson said "i think we should try to accept ourselves." In the taxi,so, this proves that they would accept themselves if they weren't goths, this is literally the best relationship of all total drama.

I love how emotionless and dark the goths are but have a sweet side. Forever my favorite and wished they won. Loki is such a beautiful creature

Some may act like punks and some not. You cannot define goth culture. Goth culture is something everyone can take part in.

Monotonous. Means one track, like they do the say things every day.

I think by now with how much I've matured, the goths are my two favorite characters. They just casually skirt all the expectations of relationship drama, the host's annoying desire to see them emote for his petty insecure desires, and much the same with especially the ice dancers. #1 relationship as well in working through their own insecurities with appearance and not even seen each other 'ungothed' implies they're either ace or simply taking it slow, much like how the red wavelength vibrates slower at a lower frequency. Truly the color ironically representing sadness in that analogusly physics-oriented read of mine.

I think the goths should have been brought back instead of the surfers because they were unfairly booted due to the ice dancers' sabotage.

I would say that though they "could have easily made it" That rabbit was still in an entirely new area with different predators; who knows how terribly he could have damaged the Eco-system had they left those predators to fend for themselves.

Yeah, I'm surprised how well-developed they were. Unlike those tennis guys. I was really hoping they'd make it at least a third into the show, and have their characterizations developed upon, but they got eliminated so insultingly early that they end up being one-note and disappointing.

"You're in first place! You won! You're the winners! Woo hoo hoo! Are you trying to ruin the show? Is that your plan? Get out of here!"

A rabbit as a goth pet? Wow. Plus, an A+ for the name they picked for him.

I’m glad people saw the goths were actually really neat characters. They ended up being my favorite, but I’m somewhat surprised how other people had the same reaction to them too

At first, I expected to hate the Goths. But, fortunately, they wrote them in a tasteful manner that showed positive sides of the stereotype. Total Drama loves its stereotypes and doesn't always flesh the characters out other than the generalisations. But after watching just a little, they climbed to my favourite characters in the race. And Ennui is my spirit animal.

The goths may not seem like it due to them not personally showing emotion on the outside much, but they’re definitely one of the most healthiest couples on tv. Plus they’re genuinely funny at times just for being unique as characters!

...actually, I love that concept. Imagine those two as sisters and having to compete as a team without killing each other- Izzy by accident, and Crimson because she can only take so much of Izzy's... Izzy-ness. ("This is why I moved out.")
