Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Chris literally arrested for breaking rules regarding abuse to minors, using his island to house toxic race, using contestants to fight the resulting mutants, etc? Like, he was a proper criminal towards the end. Giant robots, lakes of toxins, live volcanos, stuffing a contestant into a robot suit after he fell into a volcano. That dude was horrific.

I have such a love/hate relationship with World Tour. The love triangle drama really brought the show down, but I still came back for the Heather/Alejandro rivalry and Noah just being Noah. Actually, I don't think I liked any of the episodes with Duncan back in the competition (well, except for I See London, where everything was amazing except the ending).

Yes, I do remember reading that the crew liked the Duncan/Courtney couple. Executive meddling :/ It wasn't out of the realm of possibility for Duncan and Courtney to have had previous relationships before TDI. I get the feeling that the execs were overly worried about that.

You know the reason he got really far, though. It really speaks for something when Cody got eliminated right after the girl who kept carrying him through most of the challenges did - it kind of makes you wonder if she was the real reason Cody got so far. I've always said that while Cody made it some way on his own merits, he would still have been booted somewhat earlier without Sierra there.

Then one day the teacher banned us from discussing it because someone pulled up a highlight clip with Heather's top coming off. Good times.

The sad thing is, I really don't hate TTG. My problem is Cartoon Network showing it so often. I decided to count and besides Adult Swim, CN only shows 4 cartoons during the day. Contrast this, DisneyXD shows 10 different shows a day during the same time period. CN's terrible scheduling has resulting them in putting all their eggs in one basket.

You have to watch world tour. It has amazing songs, characters and more. The one problem is that they screwed up so many relationships. They ruined: Duncan x Courtney They ruined: Gwen x Trent They ruined: Izzy x Owen They ruined: Harold x Leshawna Fresh (creators) also said Lindsay and Tyler broke up after the season. WHY?!

I totally agree with you. The reason for all the forced breakups was because of the network wanting relationships to end because they wanted to teach viewers that not all relationships last. That in itself was fine but the writers took the absolute worst way to do it. For example, Tom McGillis wanted Duncney to be canon throughout the series. Then, Gwuncan was contrived by Cartoon Network and Teletoon despite McGillis' wanting to continue Duncney. The reason they didn't keep Chris was because Chris was supposed to be a parody of Jeff Probst, the host of Survivor, since the series mainly parodied Survivor. Since they went to parodying the Amazing Race they changed the host to be a parody of Phil Keoghan. You gotta give them credit for referencing the original source material well, even having their own parody of the clue envelopes from Amazing Race.

I will say, Destroy Build Destroy and that one show with the kids exploring abandoned jails, etc were pretty entertaining shows. But Total Drama is the crown jewel of the late 00s, early 10s of CN

I find it impressive that they managed to create so many characters with distinct personalities with all of them having at least a couple enjoyable qualities. I never found myself disliking any of them (in the OG series anyway), not even Heather, of whom was no doubt written to be someone you love to hate. I still think this show is very enjoyable today, which speaks volumes of the writing, since a lot of the appeal was seeing who’d be kicked off each week. I don’t think Total Drama has any reason to return, because what we have already is real solid stuff.

This show kept people watching each week. Literally I remember making sure to watch every episode each week to know who got eliminated x)

It's mostly from the conservative members, southern states looks like. Most people I know in the north are cool with it. Family is speculating if a new civil war is brewing over politics, but meh. I doubt it. Point it, more liberal classmates I've had walk around in their underwear, wear pasties and nothing else at parties, and hold sex-toy-related seminars in the school. Depends on where you are, really.

The u.s is pretty bad when it comes to anything that could even be remotely viewed as sexual, well at least when it comes to words. The basic rule of thumb is that parents just don't want to have to explain anything about anything to their kids. That said the u.s is super lenient for violence.

Endy Pakhitew deserves to be higher

Cody did get a lot of screen time and development in Total Drama World Tour. He made it all the way to the finals! And we just recently got a confirmation for a new TD season!!

In my personal opinion, season 1 of Total Drama was the best. It was absolute perfection. Then it started going downhill. Ridonculous Race wasn't as great, but it was a step in the right direction and I hope it means they're moving on up.

roboguy75 it was at the sixth season for me. They jumped the gun at Revenge. They jumped the shark, with All Stars (Mal). Phakatiew was jumping the empire State building one a motorized shark with rocket launchers attached to it.

Total Drama Island was the best season without a question. Action and World Tour were still good. The show dropped in quality after that and it hasn't been the same ever since.

Cartoon High My favorites are the original, Action, and World Tour. And which season was it where Bridgette and her surfer boyfriend (forgot his name) were in charge of the 'Aftermath' since they weren't competing? I think that was All Star, idk, if so, then I like All Star as well.

Fun fact, Gravity Falls was always a TV-Y7. Let that sink in.

Chowder was one of the best CN shows TBH Ps thank TDI for BFDI and II

This is a series that gathered my family together. Siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles aged 7-20 all had something to enjoy watching this. It's weird how much such a simple show imprinted itself on me.

I only saw the first three seasons, never saw anything past that point. Man do I have pretty fond memories of this show. For the record Izzy was always my favorite character, always entertaining, never dull. Katie Crown could convince me she was on drugs and just having the most fun a person could have. And she seems to have been typecasted in that role, seeing how in the recent Storks she was the crazy red headed character.

Bruh if Pan did a retrospective of the 2010s Clone Wars series I'd bust several nuts The early seasons are good and all, but once you get to season 3 and 4 it picks up and gets REALLY good

Kind of a hindsight in my opinion, but you should have touched on how the show chose winners depending on what country you were in, like Owen winning in America and Gwen winning in Canada.

I think Total Drama is one of the most underrated cartoons ever

Now we got Total Dramarama a series about Chef being forced to take care of kids that are clones of previous contestants, see the network was going to reboot TDI with the original cast but the project was abandoned which now means the network has a bunch of kids to raise.

Does anyone remember the TDI online game? Where you made your own avatar and played mini games based on the show's challenges? I think there was even a contest where the winner's avatar appears in the show. Those were good times...

The winners avatar DID in fact appear in the show. in the finale of season 1 There's a short scene where an intern comes in to test one of the challenges, walking across a log bridge over a cliff with sharks at the bottom. They then almost immediately fall and die. The intern was the avatar of the winner. This show has always been very special to me and my friends because our friend Jeffery won the contest and his avatar was the one that got in the finale

Milky Hex Maniac I knew I remembered there being an intern! Yet, since I didn't know or do the online competition, I thought it was just a random scene. Know, I like TDI even more.

This show was a fucking trend in my school. Everybody watched it, and we were all spectaculating who will go home next and what will happen. This stopped once the third season ended and almost nobody talks about this show anymore in my school. Anyway, I was a huge fan, but I lost interest after the 4th season which was pretty dissapointing to me. Then my interest came back thanks to Ridonculous Race. Bridgette and Lindsay were my first cartoon crushes. Thank you for the video Pan

Same here. My elementary school was pretty divided, but TDI was the first and only time we were ever on the same page about something. We would speculate and root for so many characters. That stopped after season 1 though.

Same here I was in High School and surprisingly everyone​ talked about it! Also Diamond & Pearl was out and everyone whipped out a DS. It was not a closet thing to watch cartoons anymore!

I’m quite proud of Ridonculous Race. It was really memorable and amazing! So much better than most seasons

I grew up with Total Drama Island and still rewatch it sometimes with my brother we love it

They also created this show called "Stoked" after the first season but not many people remember & it didn't last that long

Total Drama Island came on at the perfect time because it was during my whole adolescent "I'm getting two old for cartoons phase." It was like someone made a cartoon just for me at that time in my life, but of course after TDI ended it just became "There's no good cartoons anymore." And that's when nostalgia became my life.

I remember the first time I watched the show was before it even aired on CN. While staying in the hotel room on a Canadian trip, I turned on the television for some good old Canadian animation that I'll forget to ever have seen once the trip was over. I happened upon the halloween episode with Chef as the masked "killer." It gave a lasting impression, so much so that when I saw an ad for its premier on CN I was so excited.

About the dialogues, in the French Canadian version of TDI, there was a part where a caracter straight says ''Tabarnak'' while (if i remember correctly'' cleaning the bathroom. Tabarnak is a very common swear among French Canadians. 12 years old me lost his shit back then lmao

Mr. Taxi, they actually had moments during the first season, Total Drama Island, where they showed the families of a few contestants as extra clips. I think they were: Owen, Gwen, and Heather. If i'm missing any, someone please let me know cause it's been years since I saw that season let alone the show. Plus, they showed the audition tapes of about half the cast of the first season. Lastly in season 2, Total Drama Action, they showed the aftermath of a handful of the contestants getting voted off.

Cody gets way better in the later seasons, season three to be exact.

This is one of my favorite Cartoon Network shows, especially ones post-CCF. I know a lot of crossovers/compilations of all of them leave out acquired programming for simplicity's sake, but Total Drama should at least be the one that breaks that barrier just for how popular and fitting it was to the network's general feel. Well, that and the Mr. Men Show(the 2008 one). That one is surprisingly really good, for its premise seemingly limiting every character to their namesake personality trait.

Oh god the beginning was just a throwback to my generation of Cartoon Network.

Cn Was Not Doing Well In The Late 2000s

Total Drama was pretty good, it just kinda deteriorated overtime... I mean; Island was a really good parody of Survivor. Action, despite being not as good as Island, was entertaining in its own right. World Tour, even with the addition of musical numbers, was okay. Revenge of the Island was alright, even with the new characters. All-Stars was the weakest season out of Total Drama, even if it did have its moments. Pahketew Island was better, but not by much. Ridonculous Race was a great breath of fresh air, being a great parody of The Amazing Race. Not sure how the series will end up next, but I'm certainly interested on how it'll turn out.

What about World Tour?

Even with the censorship I remember the few times when the show still got away with saying a couple swears like crap and freaking when I was a kid. I was then even more surprised when Regular Show did the same. Glad to see Pan finally talk about this show and appreciate it for what it did. Also anyone noticed that after the success of Teen Titans GO many of CN's newer shows went back to the Y7 rating? Guess after the end of Adventure Time we might wait a while til we get another PG show on the network

Idk if this was related or not but the Fosters Home TV movie: Destination Imagination managed to get away with a PG rating instead of the show's usual TVY7 rating. I never understood why this happened at first until it got to the scene near the end of the movie where Bloo straight up said that Mr.Harryman pissed him off. People still think that Bloo was actually saying peeved instead but still then why the PG rating?

I remember the first time I saw an Adventure Time promo. It was the scene from the Enchiridion episode where Finn punches the gatekeeper dressed like a devil. Good times.

This show and 6teen (which has SO many of the same VAs, because Canadian laws are fucking weird) both honestly had absolutely FIRE intros. Like I know people would judge me if I'd listen to them separate, but their so fucking good.

Season 1 and 3 were my favorite. I'm born when tdi(2007) came out so I only saw tdwt(later episodes and episode 1) and other seasons(besides tdas and tdroti) and a couple episodes of tdi(surprisingly) in like 2012 on teletoon but still I love total drama.

I hear the next season is a parody of Naked and Afraid, exclusively on Adult Swim.
