To all the whiny,'I am [or know] a single dad who is fully invested in my child's life' or 'my wife and I work equally with our children' type of people, you need to chill out. She is a comedian - and a pretty funny one at that. My god, if you sit on KZread watching comedic channels and take it literally you need to rethink your perspective on the world. Chill out. Have a good laugh. Understand no one is specifically calling your or your parenting style out.

It should be "ask your mom, I don't know, Where is my clothes, Whats for supper, I'll fix that later, when was my anniversary, Jane stop this crazy thing." It doesn't rhyme.

LOL even though some dads may think this is 'mindless and thoughtless', you must remember that, hey, maybe the dads she surveyed actually said,"ask your mom' so that's why she incorporated that into her song! ROFL :-)

God forbid any man should give any OTHER advice to his child than "Ask your mom." Anything HE offered would be WRONG in Mom's eyes and she would give him all Hell for it (whether he was actually right or wrong). As Elizabeth Barstow Stoddard put it over 150 years ago, "Women are vapid in their accomplishments, chaotic in their reasonings, and illusive from the day of their birth. A girl-baby is a hypocrite compared with a boy-baby"

This is hilarious, I love it but I will say a few quick things. This was a mum writing and singing about being a mum. Dads should write their own song if they want to. On that note, generally dads are working more than mums, so mums do spend more time with the kids If dad wasn't working, you'd spend almost no time with the kids cos you'd have to work. So the dad supporting the financial side means that there are more mumisms than dadisms. Dad would have to make the song about what they have to put up with all day at their job to come home to whatever their wife puts on them. It could be done, but not in the same way, that's for sure

id love to hear a dad version but to be fair these days both parents work equally instead of like before. only ~25% of households have a stay at home parent. in my case it is still my mom who when she is home talks to us and cooks and cleans. im not saying those tasks are not equal for others but the working dad excuse doesnt work anymore. my dad works way less then my mom(does skip the dishes only when he feels like it while mom runs house with full time job), does no house work and cant be bothered to spend any time with us :( while my friends dads are nicer they still spend more time with the mum despite both working 40-60 hours too as they tend to come home and use their phone or sleep. my dad watches tv, sleeps or eats or goes on his phone. id say the song is accurate for me. but it will be diff for ppl based on their own mom an dad. moms should also add that after working all day and parenting they have to do the rest of the house work while dad rests and complains about his equally long day at work and when asking their husband to help are yelled at instead cause they are annoying.
