That was an amazing play from Bretonia. And also, that was an amazing cast of that hectic fight. Good job.

High Elves WAY over invested in range and disrespected Bretonnia's strong points by not bringing more spears.

Yeah, I wish DoW had been more like a combo of Total War and the tabletop. Mostly in that you would have your entire army at the start rather than building it during the fight.

total war version doesn't have to follow the love exactly.. speed bikes, artillery, gunners and melee can all work the was same way we see now. there is no law that it has to follow table top

Mounted Yeomen Archers have no hope against Reaver archers. They are out-ranged and have no armor. High elf archers are made for destroying other skirmisher units, Bretonnian archers are just made to shoot at infantry targets.

Bretonnian cavalry stormed the field here.

This battle was decided from the begining. Migsa is one of the best players (and may be the best with HE) but this HE build is very weak in my opinion. Its clear that Bretonia will have many ground heavy cav (HE lack AP archers and Bretonian cavalry are the only units that can beat HE elite infantry and cavalry). But HE had no real anti-cav in this match - instead all army was anti-infantry?!? Horse archers/chariots deal damage very slow and on top of that it is questionable vs race with lore of life and phys.res.... Instead them HE could have 3 guards. You dont need so many lions - mix them with spears is better (spears still win vs trash units decisevely but can defend vs cav too and your line will be wider). Princess on eagle in this match is absolutelly useless unit too - almost zero range damage vs viable targets.

I had similar thoughts about the HE composition. Not a lot of anti-large/anti-cav around.

I'm an high elf main aswell, and i can tell you this matchup is a nightmare, you can bring a box of phoenix guards and spearmen and still get destroyed by the grail dudes who can just destroy any formation with the lance formation, and the fay will just kill everyone in the long fight with her aura. You have to snipe the fay or you will lose anyways... princess on a dragon is a nice way to do it but then bret can just pick Louen and pegasi and destroy you in the air, tempest can help the HE but bret will bring lore of life anyways, it's the WORST matchup for HE, you should avoid it.

HE are my main too and its true - this match is really hard (in the matter of fact HE strugle vs 2/3 and even 3/4 of races; HE just have no good matches, may be only vs DE, dwarfs and vampires). I just say that this build will not work at all. With other build you will just have a chance. Of course vs strongest players you will be in big disadvantage anyway. The biggest problem of HE is they lack of versatility and they are predictable. It is very hard to find a working build that can surprice your enemy... But most often your enemy can find such build vs HE... When I play in tournaments every time when I pick HE I must deal with counterpick from very strong player (almost allways BM and every time diferent strong builds which of them working; but HE can stand only vs 1-2)... Very annoying...

And let's not downplay great micro with that cav and infantry from Bretonia. They were pingponging like crazy there.

mistake taking those chariots, you know there will be some grail knights waiting for them..

HE don't really have a good answer to grail knights outside of slow infantry and bolt throwers. Investing into white lions and a chariot is not a good idea vs brets.
