@@lucabiesse9937 Also if he was abandoned to them they'd probably bring him up with every intention of him choosing to go through the trails. Children are very impressionable and easily puck up their parents or gaurdians opinions or prejudices whether it's intended or not so there could be a subconscious brainwashing that influences them to go through the trails making the point that there wasn't really that much choice. You can also think about it as them being isolated from other possibilities which would also influence them and of course as mentioned they might have no where else to turn.

I always found this song SUPER endearing. like, on the surface, it's clearly just "hey the witcher killed this beast, pay him" but underneath it, it's Jaskier's way of getting people to stop being afraid of the witcher and hating him everywhere he goes. And in the show, they captured Geralt's reaction perfectly. geralt doesn't want to admit it, but somewhere deep down he does care, at least a little bit, about what people think of him. but he'd never openly admit it. so he just gives this satisfied nod of approval. it's perfect..

After playing the games, especially the 3rd, I'm just bummed that it doesn't sound as authentic I guess? Like listen to Marcin Przybyłowicz's work and then compare it to the Netflix series. Shit genuinely pales in comparison IMO but that's just me.

Samwise Gamjesus the only reason it sounds “poppy” is because of the studio quality sound and backing track. The first part where jaskier/dandelion was actually singing live while playing has this authentic feel mostly due to it, well, being “live”. Imo, the transition was natural. Yeah it kinda loses that “authentic vibe” due to it, but you can’t just let that raw “live” audio play all throughout the episode. This is still a tv show. Now, if it’s a theater play on the other hand, then that’s when I’ll wholeheartedly agree with you. But I do get where you’re coming from. Maybe I’m just a bit lax on critiquing this show that’s why it didn’t bother me as much.

yep. no hate to the other actors, or the new geralt, but its lost its charm. how can you switch the MAIN character? thats like calling a movie harry potter but removing the main trio, its no longer harry potter is it? might be the same world but call it something different (hence fantastical beasts was born). I always get chills at this exchange. We start seeing that the grumpy Geralt is actually kind of an idealist, and the flamboyant Jaskier a realist. The exact opposite of how they choose to appear to the world. Thus a friendship is born. It's really not hard to see why the characters in The Witcher are so instantly iconic.

Netflix, I personally have nothing to congratulate, except for the fact that you outdid yourself in your stupidity! Well, congratulations... How could you distort the original source in your show, moreover, you personally removed the one who played the role of Geralt perfectly, and became an unforgettable incarnation for the fans… We all understand this, and you understand, no matter how hard you try to close your eyes to it. Instead of a brilliant and respected leading man, you have chosen a boy with a bad reputation, a poor filmography, known for numerous scandals, not loved by us , fans. It made me laugh when I thought about the situation: He sued his ex, by whose name he was known for a while, because he did not like the song ... He sued her over a song that didn't EVEN MENTION HE!!! I don’t even want to say that the hate in his direction is more than deserved. Fans leave you for a reason, you just destroy what they love in front of their eyes, what do you hope for after that? You will never wash yourself from this shame. You know it.

Principal photography for season 1 began in October 2018, and the episodes released in December 2019, so we can expect a similar time scale for season 2's production. You know how when you really like a song, the lyrics just kinda... stick? It's hard to explain, but that just doesn't happen for me. To put it into other words "this just isn't doin' it for me". If you wanna hear more by him (I loved him in The Witcher so googled) listen to his band The Amazing Devil. He plays guitar and sings. For the series, he sang and LEARNT TO PLAY THE LUTE! He said in interviews (search for him Joey Batey) that he comes from a musical household. He was with the Shakespeare Company for a while.
