    I think it passed the test hands down. He put four different types of chemicals on one coat (i'm assuming) of Torque Ceramic Shine. The product still worked like it was supposed to work. I've put 2 coats on my 2019 GMC Sierra SLT, several days apart, so far I have no complaints. (I know I didn't need 2 coats back to back, it's what I prefer).

    Grateful for all the information. I only have one suggestion. Create a plan for your torture test and be consistent in the products and order of the application. It would add a more true scale of the point of failure of each product. You may even be able to create a grid of comparison.

    Great review... The durability of the product is very impressive. Not the best hydrophobics (contact angle) but like most extremely durable spray on products, you have to make a trade off somewhere. The only thing I can see that would cause people not to buy this product is the price. They MUST come down off of that high price tag.

    I'm calling bullcrap on all these new coatings. I want to see any of them resist water marks from acid rain or bird droppings. You don't drive around or part and get chemicals on you paint. Maybe you do if you live or drive somewhere where chemicals are hitting you paint. I have yet to see any coating made today that can resist bird droppings or acid rain. Find me a product that can do that and now I'm highly interested. I'm mad because I have purchased so many of these kinds of products and year bead water like made BUT I actually hate that because if you park your car outside and it rains , goes what? you now have water marks from all the stupid cool beading these products do. I would much prefer them to sheet the water then bead it. I'm a retired detailer and I worked in the paint sealant and wax decades. These new products I wish they actually worked a advertised. Jimbo, can you do any real world testing? Like on a car and then actually drive it for weeks months , get rid droppings on it and lets see if it etches the clear coat after it sits on there for 24 hours. Think about it. You part your car outside and then a bird hits it. You don't know it's on there until the next day or could even be 2 if you don't drive every single day. Who also does an inspection before you drive away? I'd like to see a product protect against bird droppings , this is the ultimate test for any protection you money can purchase . This product I'd like to see if it actually works. All these ceramic spray detailer coatings bead water, lets see it bead bird droppings.

    $40 bucks for 8 oz. That is simply rediculous. That would be like spending $80 for a single bottle of Turtle Wax Solutions Ceramic Spray Coat or T L C 2. And they both perform every bit as well as Torque. At $5 an oz, it should last for Ten years. We have got to get realistic when looking at products. What professional detailing pro would ever spend that kind of money when so many other products are out there? The reality is that they are going after the retail DIY detailer that buys into the hype and hasn't done their research.

    Every seems to make unrealistic claims only to get disappointed but too late they got your money; you can go back or complain but is it worth your time. Just like your old repair guy says "nothing last long these days " the bored maytag repair guy no more. The car salesman, the tint shop, products sold on Amazon; they want a piece of your hard earned money.

    Shouldn't the test been done in the sun. A lot of people don't have a garage. And how long dose it last for. All these coatings start of great but with regular driving and car washers they don't hold up more then a few months.

  • @GainingDespair
    @GainingDespair4 жыл бұрын

    I'm mixed on it, I think since they came to you the ball was in their court to being with. If it was a random grab off a shelf at the store, I feel that would be fairer in a neutral sense, but the one defining the conditions of a test can make whichever product they wish to win. I'm not saying that as to suggest Jimbo bias, not at all, but since they were able to pick this test, you would naturally assume this would be something their product just performs well at. They were able to define the test in this situation, the product is relatively chemical resistant, but at the same time, we knew this going in as they felt it would be a good test for it. That's not to say the product is terrible. I'm just more rubbed on the thought of this product might just be chemical resistant but offer nothing else to the vehicle protection wise, or maybe it does, but it doesn't last long in the real world. I could also just be completely wrong, and the product is fantastic in general, but it's in a companies interest to put their work in situations where it would excel so, in this case, we only know it's chemical resistant with nothing else and that might not make a good product if it put all of its eggs in that basket to be marketed like this. TL;DR We know since they approached Jimbo, the product was designed to survive chemicals like this as a product; however, we know nothing else in the sense of other pros or cons of the product. We reasonably assume it was designed to survive chemicals if that is 90% of what the product has to offer we don't know.

    Hi there, i was skeptical about the Torque Ceramic Shine too. My shelf looks like everyone else, trying the latest and greatest all the time. I have a 2020 dodge 3500 no fun trying products on a new finish so i used it on my 2005 metallic green Tahoe z71. She is my daily driver down 3 miles of red dirt road out to the hwy and back, purchased used/neglected. After paint chip fixes, decon wash, iron/bug removal and clay bar i applied the Torque Ceramic Shine. Absolutely unreal depth of color and shine and it is the slickest coating i have EVER felt. Truly. After one application i lightly hand buffed with microfiber, left it in 12 hours then out it went into rain, dust, pea hail etc. Washed after 7 days looks awesome! Applied 2nd coat, now strangers ask me where i had it newly painted!!!! Unbelievable on a 15 year old SUV with 181k miles on it!!!! I am over a month out now with weekly washes, still amazing shine, slick and hydrophobic. Lets see how it goes.......thanks for your channel thanks for reading this! Torque sucks. It does NOT have the same results as your tests. I already used it twice on my 2020 Camaro V6 3.6 supercharged R/SS/C. It should not matter but for weight savings the upper panels are reinforced plastic. It rained 24 hours after a huge rain, and it beaded everywhere. It isn't worth the words on the label. I claybarred the hood, roof, and decklid just like directions ask. Product does not do what it is supposed to. I want a total refund or a product thst DOES WORK!!!!

    Wow this guy...”Jimbo”... what kind of name is that anyways. Here is another detailing hack. It’s been 2 days since he last cleaned my car and he didn’t even do the mats. I am going to need to call his boss. ***just trying to make it on the Instagram***

    I really wish professional detailers would stop calling this stuff "coating" and "ceramic coating". I don't give a rat's ass what the label says, a professional knows better.

    Just exactly what do you think is in it? Google “composition of ceramics”. Manufacturer states it contains Silicone dioxide SiO2 or silica which = ceramic. So it’s either a ceramic coating or something else with false advertising. I’m guessing it’s not the latter.
