Wow! The strength part is really brilliant, even better than what I did last year. Might be worth taking note!

So nice. The Surron And Talaria are nice but a lot of young people are being taking advantage of with all those parts..

And Torp is massively over priced! $800 for a 12 fet VESC controller? You can spend a whole LOT less and get the same amount of power from other sources and NOT be locked into the stupidity of Torp.

Liquid flux. It's super handy for soldering tiny wires to tiny legs on components. Flood the entire area with flux, solder, clean up with a little alcohol.

Have you had a chance to look at 3Shul? It also runs off VESC. I just ordered the CL1000

What’s up man. I bought a tc1000 the positive terminal was stripped and now it is spinning in place. The controller still works and torp will not fix it. They offered me 70% off of another controller but that is about 400$ with customs to the states. Do you think that is fixable. Looking at the tear down you did of the 500 it looks like the positive may have just been soldered to the busbar. I’m thinking of epoxying it in place since it was working. What do you think?

  • @de-bodgery

Are you in the USA? Epoxy is a bad idea. The stud needs to be soldered back into place again. Anything less is asking for a massive failure! So my suggestion is to find someone like me that can repair it properly. They are potted and that takes time and care to remove to get down to the power stage so that it can be repaired properly.

i bought a surron from surronster. it gave out/stopped working after 600 miles i babied never took it wet riding. when i took it back to his store they told me to fuck off. rather than trying to confront them or get mad i walked away with my still broken bike. from what i can tell its just a defective controller. what would i recommend i upgrade to. im looking at the Ko nano because price is the main limiting factor. what would you recommend i do as far as getting a new controller. ???

Have you looked at any of my tear down videos for KO products? This is the WORST choice you could make! I'd suggest the Nukular controller or STR500 from Trampa or X9000 from EBMX. They cost more for very good reasons!

Which Controller you recommend i want to buy a torp but now i am not sure anymore. I had many problems with bac an the ko Controllers are nit that good either. From the torp i only hear good things and my friends love it too but you say it is garbage. So what Controller you recommend. The price is not important for me but i want the best Controller

I'd avoid Torp. They are actively under investigation for stealing VESC. What the end result of this investigation is still not known, but it's abundantly clear that they will face legal action for theft of intellectual property. Torp is running VESC this is not a "maybe", it's fact. What I recommend is that you buy a legit VESC controller from a source that isn't stealing. Team Triforce, MakerX, Trampa, EBMX, Tronic, SHUL are all VESC controller makers.

@@de-bodgeryi bought a Torp because of the good price and easy Installation and the Power Upgrade with Stock battery. For me it works great. Good waterproofing No overheating and a good App. Even with 72v at 16kw it does Not overheat. I Had a bac Controller on a different Bike and it was horrible but the Torp works perfect.

Pretty sure it's all 100v parts. They did a decent job on the hardware. It's unlikely they would make a mistake and use 90v parts in it.

If this bricks, it's non recoverable. It's trash the second something goes wrong with an update, which happens from time to time. A shame SWD wasn't routed to the connector since there are plenty of unused pins. You can't flash a bricked STM via the bluetooth module. Black Magic doesn’t work in that direction. In order to debrick the STM32 processor you need access to the SWD on the STM32. Once a FW update goes wrong, this thing is dead.

Sooooo...you like throwing away $800 or more and knowing that all you need to NOT throw that money in the garbage was a simple 5 cent connector that Torp deliberately left out! That's the point!!! Just because ASI practices similar shitty tactics doesn't make it OK or right or acceptable! Also, go look at my BAC8000 tear down. The connector through holes for their CPU programming are on the logic board. You can lift the top off the controller, remove a small amount of potting and get access to it without a lot of trouble. Without a LOT of effort and specialized skills such as I demonstrate, you can't do any of this for a Torp! IT is a much WORSE situation!

@@de-bodgery If you don't have the BAC FW, why dig down to the SWD port? The Torp would at least accept VESC FW since that is very likely what it runs on in the first place.

my playlist might be all over the place ,ive never actually looked at it ,but i think one thing that would be obvious and it happened when i had a stroke cpl years back ,i now try to help people see ,if they want to ,who they really are ,and just the mind boggling emesity of the lie we have been fed thats created the reality we have all co-created together .I got on the electric bike path as my goal was to have transport that did not require on going costs as a car does ,and that i could charge via small solar blankets or flex panels ,but the bike had to truely relieable with redundency ,im in the process now of building what were calling the E-Camper which is full featured micro camper its about 3 metres long 1.5 metres wide on inside and just under 2metres high and 2 of its 4 26 inch fat tires have hub motors in so its self powered basically its controlled via a cycle analyst using solar firmware that allows monitoring a dual shunts and accelaration matches the bikes speed via some hall and torque sensors in the tow arm, once its done im just going to go travelling ,no rent -no bills no society fakery basically ,the bike a full year to design and build as there was nothing i buy that came close to what i wamted to do and i wanted plug and parts and that required can bus and there was nothing in the bike world than all these companies makeing things that wouldnt work cohesivly together

one of the biggest requirements for the bike too was the battery ,had to fireproof literlaly and solved that by using an immersion cooling system and peltier elements and a pc cooling radiator and pump ,and pumps 3m novec dilectric fluid through the battery and second loop goes through the 2 sabvoton controllers i would have prefered the asi bac 8000 and 4000 but im in australia and thats if can actually find them the 2 would be at least 3000 dollars
