Toronto home invasion victim recounts violent break-in, scoffs at advice from police

There has been a sharp rise in car thefts and home invasions in the Greater Toronto Area. Would leaving your car key by the front door make a difference?
A Toronto Police officer suggested that to residents, seemingly to avoid break-ins turning violent.
One Toronto-area resident who recounted his own violent home invasion said this isn't the solution. He said that doesn't work when you've got top-notch anti-theft measures.
"And then having those people get the keys and not being able to steal my car successfully, forcing them to come up and put a Glock 9 mm to my head, that's not a good solution," Peter told Global News.
Mark Carcasole reports.

The system that allows a prime minister to take a $80,000 vacation, flying in a private plane while telling you taxes have to go up due to carbon emissions. The system that allows bail for criminals who have a long history of theft and violent assaults. The system that has a cowardly, inept police force that tells everyone to leave the keys by the door, so criminals can easily steal your car. What that cop did is a criminal offence, its called aiding and abetting.

People need to go look up the municipal costs in their region, in Toronto it costs tax payers $1.17 billion in 2024, which translates to each cop getting paid $94,000...for what? Why would anyone want a "whole new police force" as if the next batch of clowns will be any different. How about this, scrap 95% of the police force, enact a constitutional law for gun ownership no restrictions, no permits, no licensing, castle doctrine and stand your ground. Don't need new laws, theft and murder is a crime, self defence is not a crime. People who require training can sign up for firearms classes to learn if they need to. Canada also needs a civilian militia, why are the criminals running this country into the ground and police and politicians don't do anything to stop it, are they working with these crime syndicates...I think that maybe the case.

If police won't stop the criminals, then who's defending the tax payers who are paying for police's $94,000/year salary? Why would people pay for crap service. You don't need to defund the cops, just stop paying all taxes until there is a massive change in the public sector. The only money tax payers should be paying is for essential services like hospitals, roads/traffic, fire department, water treatment, sewage. There are ALOT of tax payers money being wasted on alot of services people don't use.

They have broken their contract with the city by not providing the services they were paid to do. They're fired! Politicians can create stupid laws that benefit no one, and they're not the boss, the tax payers are the boss. So if they can create laws, so can anyone else. They are lowly public servants and need to do what the public wants. Me personally all levels of government are not worth the billions they steal from tax payers through taxes. Fire them all and only keep the public sector workers for essential services. I don't think anyone has a problem with people keeping 95% of their income. We'd all be living good lives and travelling, instead of trudeau going on $80,000 vacations while the nations crumbles.
