Oh yeah I didn’t recognize it at first. I remember that being in the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack.
Back in like 2006 Chaz was handing out cd-rs of his music for free to people outside of a Broken Social Scene show at the Music Farm in Charleston, SC. The guy knew what he wanted and never stopped ♥

Toro y Moi is the artist that I recommend like 100% of the time. He ticks off all the boxes to all my favorite genres especially when you listen to Les Sins as well
i love toro y moi, but it always seems like he's on the egde of making something spectacular. he has the ability to be one of the biggest around, but never seems to cross that line fully. i think he knows he could make bangers that go around the world, but chooses to make what he wants. i respect that.

i think his music is extremely meaningful to some people and it doesn't matter if there isn't bigger mainstream appeal. I'd describe a solid portion of his catalog as spectacular too

Crazy how this is just what I needed, there's still a hint of that artistic style you've always had, like a light and yet it's so different just like how I feel I've changed since then.
