    I currently have the the SR and used the Recycler for 15 years. The SR is well worth the price difference. It mulches better, much less clean up, bags way way better. And it is much better balanced. Rolls much better over uneven terrain and the flex handle not only feels better, it keeps the deck planted.

    I have a 2021 SR with the Honda engine. Great mower that out preforms my Honda HRX217. Basically only use the Honda for early Spring and Fall leave clean ups. All mowing season long it’s the Toro Super Recycler. Definitely a Toro fan coming from 3 different Hondas in the last 25 years.

    I’d say the personal pace and the ease of maneuvering. Toro definitely will be lead dog in push mower field soon if not already. Honda is stopping production on gas mower so they say. I myself not ready for a battery powered mower.

    @gregboyer2385 both these new toros are junk with junk engines & plastic carburetors. Way way overpriced junk period. New Hondas are way better with much better engine then any of these new Toros!!!

    Thanks for the informative comparison. I wish you had made a more exact comparison. You mentioned identical engines in both. The cut height should have been identical between the two. I suspect each mower was using its default installed blade? Are they the same or is the blade different? Is it the baffles in the decking underside that circulates the clippings better for recutting on the SR? I'm trying to hone in on the cutting aspect and not the other features that I understand will have a price difference of $300. Would the cheaper mower with an Oregon high lift blade or Gator blade be an equivalent or better mulcher than the SR?

  • @LL-mt2nz

    @LL-mt2nz

    I have owned both of these mowers and currently own the SR. The SR is worth the extra cost. The Recycler uses a mulching blade and it’s a finish mower. It doesn’t handle damp or overgrown grass well. The SR uses a high lift blade that directs the clippings to the kickers until they are essentially a powder. The blade assembly also has “accelerators” the assist in this process. The SR needs a high lift blade for this reason. A munching blade would isn’t ideal. The SR will leave your grass with a well groomed appearance regardless of most reasonable cutting conditions. There is no comparison between these two machines.

    You probably felt more bog on the Recycler around 3:00 because it has a mulching blade, which does more work because it cuts while the blades are suspended in the vacuum of the deck a second time, not just that it was cutting mildly shorter

  • @sethjohnson4845
    @sethjohnson48454 ай бұрын

    I understand that the super recycler is a superior machine. But judging by the first cut at the maximum cutting heights, would you say that the difference in cut quality and mulching ability is less pronounced if you are following the 1/3 rule? Again, clearly the SR does everything better but it appears to me that as the grass is more overgrown (basically what you were simulating by cutting lower and lower) the difference becomes more pronounced. I’ll be honest, $800 is a tough pill to swallow and I’m trying to convince myself that I’ll be fine with the recycler haha I’m thinking that given I cut my lawn at least once and usually twice per week I should be good.

    @@MrCaribe65 just fixed my old mower for now. I’m not sure what I’m going to buy when the time comes. Part of me just thinks I should bite the bullet and get the SR since I expect it to last around 10 years, but then again I know that the regular recycler will still be an upgrade for me and a lot cheaper. Sorry, I’m no help.
