revell 1/48 scale model kit has hit the work bench
i am making this into a 4 part series and this is part 1 Cockpit build
the following parts "kit build", "painting", " decals and weathering" to follow later
the kit is a large kit and cost £35 and was bought for me as a present from wonderland models
its a large kit once built and has a lot of decals to fit so hopefully it will look fantastic once i have finished it

Cheers pal One of the better out of the box cockpits I've done for a whole
Looks very nice. I have just returned to the hobby after many many years and get a lot of info, techniques etc from watching your builds. Keep up the good work. Regards from a Brit expat living in the Netherlands.

cheers pal i am 50 years old and i have had to learn new ideas and methods of modeling i came back to the hobby a couple of years ago after around a 15 to 20 year break and found i love it as much as i did when i had to give up the hobby before becuase i was always working away from home ps the rest of the build on the tornado aint as easy as i would like
That decal you placed on the ejection seat head box was supposed to go on the side of it, not the top. Otherwise, very nice job.

It's finished and a video is up on my channel if you would like to watch it I have to admit the instructions and fit quality was a pain but the kit looks fantastic now it's finished and looks great on display with the rest of my models

@@yorkshiremanmodels I did see the video. I posted before I found your pages. Looks really good and it gives some interesting points I have considered for my future builds.

thanks already more than halfway through building the rest already got the wings fitted and they move into swept back position
Does anybody else soak the plastic parts on the tree in warm and soapy water ( I don't know how long really) as suggested in the instruction on this model?

I feel the plastic to see if it's greasy and if it is then wash it as instructed Only ever had paint fail a couple of times and that's when the plastic wasn't washed I find airfix is the worst for mould release agent
