Tories in Meltdown Over Labour's Changes Today

Labour lost no time in setting into motion the changes they could with ministerial powers. Just today, they've had the Tories raging against three policies, yet they're struggling to know which to rage the hardest at.

No doubt your comment is based upon what Phil said in the video, well I've got news for you-in terms of water he does not have a clue what he is talking about. He says that the water companies should spend money on infrastructure - that is exactly what they have been doing for the last God knows how many years. Every water company has to prepare asset management plans for 5 year periods detailing how much and where they are going to spend on capital infrastructure improvements over the period. Based on the level of spending.OFWAT decides by how much each water company can put its charges up to its customers. Phil is from the midlands and Severn Trent Water spent £442 million on infrastructure improvements in 2033-i guess that counts as investment. Don;t believe the hype, look at the facts. Water would not be better privatised, it was for decades and the pollution taking place is as a result of no spending for years by councils, who were responsibel for sewage disposal. Nothing was spent because there's no votes in muck and that is what you get with political interference.

There is no morally acceptable justification for the present situation. They were privatised as assets with no debt, so that's how we should at least get them back." So NO, i don't want any tax payer money to go to the shareholders & even more importantly, i don't want the state to be on the hook for the debts that they incurred, including the fall out of a water company's recent loss in court.

Not just the jobs that will be wiped out, but the revenues that fund public services as well. It is unnecessary, ideologically driven industrial vandalism. Crime prevention and rehabilitation costs time and money. It is a long term investment that, eventually, reduces crime and the justice budget. Cuts show as a saving now, a big cost later. Ask the Californians when Regan became Governer, that's what he did, Cut. Within a few short years his "savings" were needed to pay for the extra police, courts, prisons and probation. Ask the Danes, they spend money on prevention and rehabilitation, about that which they save on their justice system. Obvious which is the better.

It seems amazing, but brilliant - At long last, the sensible, pragmatic adults are in charge again. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Thank you Phil. ❤

Truly investigative journalism should have been brought many of these issues to the surface, to the taxpayers.

Why the recriminations cant start now and hold them legally responsible for wasting public money I can't understand. Lets start with the PPE waste scandal?

Investigate Brexit illegality and the performance will be epic. Any MP - past or present - who took Ruzzian money should have a nice chat with Special Branch. Even for TV appearances ...

When it comes to water companies they should be banned from paying out to shareholders until the bills are returned to the same level as before (in real terms), and the standards of the infrastructure are up to scratch.

As water companies are responsible for the removal of sewage surely they believe they are allowed to take the piss ;)

That's the problem - they aren't taking the piss, they are dumping it into the rivers instead!

The water companies will just pay higher contract prices to their mates who do the infrastructure development. So I hope the regulator scrutinises the tenders?

There is no greater pleasure than dismissing Tories whining with the very same phrases they have been using whilst the Tories destroyed the UK.
