My husband and I lost everything in the recession due to his long-term unemployment. Home, savings, 401Ks, pawned everything and anything we could-even the wedding rings we had for 33 years. You just gotta keep going. We moved in with relatives and by a twist of fate that we still consider a miracle, my husband finally got a job (after six years of unemployment) and we're slowly digging out. Credit trashed, driving 16 year old cars and living in our own place now. No furniture but it's ours.

I've lost two jobs in five years. I live alone and support myself. The first round of unemployment I had more in my savings to fall back on and welfare was much better then. I was on Medicaid and got a fair amount in food stamps. Now I've been unemployed since Nov and can't even Medicaid and only got $15.00/month in food stamps. They took that away from me and I didn't bother to apply again. It's just not worth it. Now I'm having oral surgery and have to apply for charity thru the hospital because I was denied Medicaid and I can't apply for insurance thru the marketplace. My unemployment will run out in a few weeks. I'm terrified. I'm doing this all by myself.

Her parents taught her how to spend money, they should of taught her how to invest it instead.

EXACTLY. Her Father Did Not Do a GOOD JOB at teaching her about Financial Management.

Guess you'll have to get a J O B. You know, working 40 hrs, dragging yourself home, pick up the kids at the babysitter, make dinner, clean your own house, drive a used car. It's doable Tori. Poor Tori. Now you have to live in a 3 bedroom ranch like the rest of us slobs.

There are a lot of things it no one knows about the Spelling family.there's a reason why a mother would not share the fortune left to her by her husband with her children.Theres also a reason why the father wouldn't leave a substantial amount of money directly to his children..your parents know you best...trust me, there are things we don't know about tori that her father did! He probably knew it would not be good idea to leave control of millions to her. She ldid just what her dad figured she would do which was throw away a perfectly good marriage, go marry some some smooth talking Hollywood sleaze ball and throw away all the money he left her. Tori's got a lot to think about. She's beginning her 40s, with four young and demanding children. Let's face it. Dean's going into his late 40s, without really having made a dent in his chosen field. I had thought an update of "Magnum PI" would've worked for him. Apparently, no one else thought the same. I also had thought her mother would produce projects favoring Tori. As an outsider looking her, it looks like she's got a whole lotta challenges facing her.

madjou1 Think about it. Suspend your bias, for the moment. Yeah, there'll only be one Selleck, for sure. But Dean has that "surfer boy" quality to him, especially when he was younger. I grew up in that West Coast surfer , Beach Boy, Carpenter's culture, although I was never a surfer, and believe me Dean fit the mold culturally in every way.

Tori doesn't have that many worries, in the grand scheme. Once her mother dies, she'll inherit a hefty trust fund. Candy's supporting her now, she can't suddenly cut Tori off at her death. If she does, Tori will just contest the will and say she's been supported all these years by mom, and simply cannot manage without.

Her brother lives in a modest home and holds a job to support his family. He does not continue to multiply. He has also come from the same affluence, yet he has learned to be normal.

I love her down to earth-ness. 💖 The fact that she has not much money make me love her more, that means she's can survive on her own.

They're not strained these days. Candy is funding her daughter's extravagance to this day. Tori's not as dumb as she plays, she likely figured if her mother wouldn't give her a larger piece of the pie, she'll make her give up at least some of the money. Once Candy dies, if Tori doesn't inherit, she will sue the estate under the premise that she's been wealthy her whole life. In addition, with her mother supporting her all these years, she will simply say that she can't manage without the funds.
