With all her fame, years of touring, massively successful albums and hits....I still feel like Tori Amos is one of the most underrated, underappreciated artists out there. She's one of our greatest living singer-songwriters, with an epic back catalog of gorgeous, uniquely magical songs going back over thirty years. Why is she not more widely celebrated? Who the hell knows...

Discovered Tori on Letterman. Was instantly a fan, but when she did Precious Things… I became a Tori junkie. Seen her several times live, she is a force of nature. I wish her the best of luck.
That Precious Things solo was the first time I remember ever feeling uncomfortable watching mainstream TV at 13, and afterward, I never wanted to feel any other way. Growth is uncomfortable but it's avoidance turns to suffering, and Tori was my introduction to that.
"Time" is still a gut-punch. It gets me every time. It was the perfect song to perform and such a source of healing at the time.

I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Tori live 3 times from Earthquakes to Pele and was absolutely smitten with her intricate mannerisms during her performances. You could hear a pin drop after the final seconds of each song as everyone caught their breath. I've never seen anything like it from any performer in all my life and I'm grateful for this as a reminder of her absolute genius. Thanks for this and I will watch again and again.

That's amazing! I was a fan from about 6 years old, but alas, I was too young to see her back then. I first saw her live in 2007 and since then have seen her 6 times. Her music helped raised me and I'm so grateful for her 💓
When I first heard of a Siren, (Greek mythology, a creature half bird and half woman who lured sailors to destruction by the sweetness of her song) it was an abstract concept that made no sense to me. Then.......... I heard Tori Amos sing, and the mythological creature came to life in the form of Tori. Bless her.
that "Spark" performance is godlike, pure magic
I love how she only played the Yamaha once. Second appearance she’s already huge enough to get the bosendorfer installed.
When someone is that good, you just have to listen in little bits...couple songs...take a break...come back...tell yourself you're not in love with a performer...rinse repeat.
Tori is incredible. So enchanting. Fantastic voice and piano. Also…….Paul’s band is immaculate. They play with pure precision. This is so good with headphones.
Tori Amos = my Muse, my Goddess, my Everything. Her superior musical ability, confidence, and ability to let you in to feel her thoughts and feelings makes her unique and very special.
There is no one like Tori, with her awesomely diverse voice and incredible piano playing. Love the way she matches her tone, notes, speed, and inflection on the piano with her voice. They are like one.
Bliss is such an underrated song. Its a straight up BANGER.

I saw her debut Bliss and Juarez on the 5 1/2 Weeks Tour shortly before TVAB was released. Y2K was right around the corner and I felt like those two otherworldly songs were literally pulling me into the 2000s. And they kind of did. That February, I got the Pay-Per-View of the same tour for my birthday party. My Dad was there. He loved her too. We had so much fun. He just passed away a few months ago and guess whose music has been the soundtrack of his transition. 🙏
Oh god, I love this magnificent woman so much! From the age of 19 back in 1996 when I first bought Boys For Pele which spiritually saved my life, right through to the present day she's always been remarkably fearless, articulate, passionate, generous and extraordinarily gifted. What a delight to walk with her and evolve as a questioning person through the years. I hope to see her before it's too late and give her a massive hug. Bless you, Tori xXx

One one hand, I'm sad that Tori Amos never got the recognition she so richly deserves; she should be considered as a legendary singer/songwriter and her piano skills should be mentioned among the greats. But I also like the fact that she was never mainstream and receive phony awards, and she remains pure and is appreciated by those of us who actually listen to her songs and lyrics, and not just snippets on TikTok and other places for fast consumerism.

I’m going to puke if I read one more “underrated” or “criminally underapreciated” comment on youtube. Tori Amos is not underrated, she is an awarded musician, with several albums on top ten of billboard charts, very apreciated by music critics and has been ten times on Letterman. She has an amazing career, she gives shows in the best places, I first saw in the ninetie in the Royal Albert Hall in London. Those underrated comments are ignorant

Maybe I didn't explain myself in a way you can understand. Tori Amos is an amazing artist, she is awarded, has a very good track in terms of albums sales, sold out venues, good reviews in the press, etc. She is an highly respected artisti. When you say that she is underrated you are ignoring all her commercial or artistic achievements. That is an uninformed comment and, pardon my French, it´s just silly. I love you Tori, you are not underrated, in fact you are a top composer/singer

I completely agree with your first comment, maybe Google Translator is distorting the meaning of my thoughts. There are a lot of comments about how Tori is underrated, it looks stupid, maybe they don’t know her biography well or don’t understand well what it means to have a position in the charts of different countries, etc.
