Thanks again Carmen for the amazing insights. As I am studying Exodus 15, I have to say, It's turning out to be one of my favorite songs in all the Bible. The depths are rich with meaning (pun intended).

Thanks for your video. That poem is wonderful. We love The Prince of Egypt too. Question: Could it be that the early Christians felt comforted in God when they remembered the Exodus and saw the salvation of Jesus?

You finally found a way to make me slow it down from 1.5x to normal speed, loved hearing the song in Hebrew with a tune! Does the hebraic covenantal context of "warrior god" relate at all to kinsman redeemer concepts? Or different concepts that I shouldn't conflate? In reading some of McDowell's stuff it seems she finds kinsman redeemer to be a core framework, and I wonder if I often miss it operating in the background. (e.g. pharaoh was killing God's firstborn, so he avenged his people and rendered justice/judgement back on pharaoh as a warrior)

I do think the kinsman-redeemer dynamic is in play in the Exodus (see the redeemer language in chapter 6), but I don't think that's connected to "man of war." I could be wrong -- so if you see a connection, let me know! I'm sure I sound much smarter at 1.5 speed...

So at 10k subscribers you'll be releasing your full cover of the song at 2:20, right? You have a nice singing voice 👌

10:49 It’s interesting that you mention that this is the first time that YHWH is mentioned in Exodus. It suggests a breakthrough in their awareness. They become aware of him both collectively and individually. The outer and inner.

Nice use of intertextuality & echo when referring to NT. Question: If God (not Jesus) transcends gender - how are we to understand Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in the NT?

Do you teach in some church-type setting, such as a "life-time" class between services? You should. Women SHOULD teach in church.

Our current church doesn't have any venue where I can teach. I've taught adult Sunday school before, and I do love it! I travel a lot to teach in other churches, though.
