Topwater lures come in all kinds of shapes and size. One of my favorites is a spook style bait like a Striking Sexy Dawg and Super Spook.

Topwater lures can be one of the best ways to catch the biggest bass in the lake. They catch numbers of fish and big bass which is what we always want.
There are a number of great topwater spook style baits out on the market but today I am sharing my favorite for topwater spooks.
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

Thank you for the tips. I bought my first couple of spook styles after watching this. The kvd sexy dawg jr ($8.46) and a couple of heddons super spook jr ($6.40). I never tried topwater even fishing for 20+ years so hopefully I learn something new.
Love the Zara Spook! That walking action triggers fish. I had a bass trail my lure once in Mississippi, followed it just under surface with its fin stuck above water. It was like a freshwater shark. Love walking the dog. Fish find that irresistible. Thanks for vids & tips.

Zara Spook got me into bass fishing at age 8 after watching Jimmy Houston fishing with it I went out to the nearby pond and the very first cast I got a 5 pounder! Been hooked on Bass fishing and topwater ever since and when it gets right you best bet I will have the original Zara Spook tired one at least on of my poles! Great video and tight lines brother!! 🤘🏼💪🏻🔥👊

Good run down on spooks, that blueish sheen on the oyster colored strike king is money.
Showerblows , gunfish and power slide my 3 favorite
You mentioned Hartwell and Alabama, etc. I would love to see some video playlists or mixed based on regional locations. For those of us that don't travel nationwide that would help to know what places, times of year, conditions, and baits/lure's to throw when and where. I'm spending a few months in central Florida. The fishing here is vastly different than the northern Georgia fishing so regional playlists become important for a lot of us Snowbirds and Tourists. Just a thought, and THANKS for all you do to teach us !! Love your channel 👏

Awesome video! My top 3 would be the Jackall Bowstick, Vixen and the R2S Rover.
This was a good run down of spook baits. I haven't tried the evergreen so thanks for the info. Good video man. Your a top water guy like me.

What is your favorite spook for Pike? I go on a week trip every summer deep in Quebec Canada and just kill pike up there. This year i want to bring up more top water. What would you throw for Pike? Great videos.
that evergreen 95 is money... 3 trebles on a small walking bait! that and the lucky craft gunfish are my go to in clear water or when their after small bait!
I like the 6th sense dogma 100 it walks awesome. It would also be a good beginner walking bait it's the easiest bait I have ever walked

That is a great bait. I haven’t gotten to use it just but definitely an easy walker
The best thing about spooks is they really spook the fish into attacking the lure out of aggression rather than hunger. The spook is good for catching bass when theyre not hungry

Tyler, I may have missed it...for top water do you use mono, straight braid or braid to leader? Which pound lines/leader?

No such thing as a "saltwater" size. It's the same size as the superspook

A while back Heddon made some 7 inch and 8 inch spooks. They were called Magnum and Super Magnum spooks. Some use them for Stripers. Perhaps that's what they mean by Saltwater size. Not the Saltwater version of Super spooks which like you said are exactly same size as the others.

@@LurchLures The spook Lee was using is a “Saltwater” Super Spook(3 hooks)-Same size as the freshwater(3hook) version-You are correct about the other models. XT (2 Hooks)was the last version of the giant spook.
