​@@MrE_ Do you know the rating of the live action version yet? I really hope it has a higher rating like maybe 16 or 18+ so that they wouldn't censor so much like they did in the OG version. For example, Mai's knives should actually hurt and make someone bleed this time, the air nation genocide should be shown more clearly (especially EXACTLY how Gyatso fought back and died), literal blood should be shown at least once when blood bending is being used (like bending blood out of a rat or something), and of course, Jet's death shouldn't be "really unclear". Showing Ozai actually shooting fire at Zuko in the live action gives me some hope for more uncensored.

​@@e-davidi.7354 with it being an adaptation that seems to follow the source, i'd guess not higher than a PG level rating, doubtful it would go above, but some episodes could potentially warrant a TV-14 depending on how they handle the more mature themes...never above that though

The creators of the new series have basically said that they aren't trying to copy the original, simply because they're very much aware they can't when adapting a cartoon into live action; different media so a different take. They've also said that everyone on the team grew up with the original and/or has spent time watching it with their own children, and have a deep reverence for it, and they don't want to ruin it. So, they aren't trying to copy, but also aren't trying to change things either, which is a fine line to walk that will hopefully turn out very well. With so many years of a certain movie being bad, it was really, really refreshing to see bending that didn't suck and to hear Sokka be able to do dry sarcasm that was both funny and relevant to the conversation.

I think it's totally fine they are changing things, as animation allowed them to do things that are just inhumanly possible, especially in certain humor moments. And with them shortening the number of episodes, it makes sense. As long as the keep the overall plot, I think it'll be good.

Depends on the changes. A 1:1 adaptation is impossible, but Peter Jackson did it 20+ years ago to perfection because he maintained the spirit and the themes of the original work. I fucking hope Netflix followed suit with this, rather than inject some stupid social commentary or ideology into it, as they are wont to do.

definitely. Dallas Liu, when he started talking about capturing the Avatar in the trailer, 100% heard Dante Basco like he was possessing Dallas. And I know there's some controversy about Ian Ousley, but he's literally Sokka. Looks like Sokka, sounds like Sokka, and talks like Sokka. and there was literally no better casting for Iroh and Ozai. Like, they are perfect casting

So cool to see the original VAs reactions. I like the results from clonemyvoice for making my own voiceover projects.

I'm excited but nothing will ever live up to the original series . All the voice acting in the first series is top notch . Toph's badass in your face attitude, angs laugh , Iro , zuko , the firelord, etc ,etc . Truly a masterpiece .

Fun fact: in the German dub they will use the same voice actors for Katara, Sokka and Zuko again (maybe more). Because they weren't children back then - so they still sound the same. Except Aang's voice actor.

OMG! I remember when I was a kid I had a huge crush on Toph! I can’t believe I’m seeing a video made by the actual person who voiced her and brought her to life. My favorite quote: “I’m the world’s greatest Earthbender, and don’t you dunderheads forget it!” 😮

Can’t wait to see who they cast to play toph in season 2. One of the fan favourites will be returning finally, thank you for giving us the original toph, it’s time for your successor to take the role.

Having a prescription of -9 is the same as me which is a weird coincidence. I don't really notice much of it until I take a shower(that's when I take my glasses off) then it really hits me that I'm blind without my glasses

I love when Zuko says “it’s my destiny”. It’s obviously not 100% Dante basco but the line is still delivered in a determined way. It FEELS like first season Zuko is on screeen. Someone still who believes the fire nation has been divinely placed above other people-and the crown prince above all else. His arc is truly one of the best written characters of children’s television. Really stoked for this.

The casting for Sokka looks very good. That's about as close as you can get to what a real-life Sokka would look and sound like.

im just a sucker for when actors or voice actors become fans of the work they're in. shows how much passion and fun they really have

THIS IS HOW YOU DO A PROPER ADAPTATION!!! I was literally fucking shaking, I haven't been this hyped for a trailer since Infinity War. Everything looks perfect, absolutely perfect. The CG artist, the costume designers, the composition of the music is BEYOND faithful. If the show doesn't hold up ill be depressed until 2030, but I have a feeling this show is going to be on Par with the original, and that's a hellofa high standard. The cast looks phenomenal, the action actually has pacing, the bending is faithful, boomie looks like a 1 for 1. Its just, AHHH I can FUCKING SCREAM!!! I'm excited for the lightning, the bloodbending and beyond hyped to see Cabbage Man reprise his role!

I notice a lot of actors/voice actors don't really watch the things they're involved in, which I get, but it's really cool to see how well-versed you are in everything. Calling out certain details, characters, events; it's so fun!

'Avatar' is objectively one of the best shows EVER. Such statements are often exaggerated, but I think it's one of the few series that deserves a rating of 10/10. From the story, to the themes, fights, humor and last but not least because of the brillant voice acting. That being said, I hope that people lower their expectations a little and let the live action series have a 'different' effect on them. The creators don't want a 1:1 adaptation because that's simply not possible due to the quality of the original series. One of the reasons why Shamalan's film adaptation was so hated was that the source material wasn't really taken seriously (especially at the time). But I think that both the cast and the crrators have really watched the original series this time and haven't just churned out anything. So I'll definitely give the Netflix show a chance and I'm looking forward to it!

I’m 44 and this show is on par with Star Wars & Potter for me. It’s the perfect telling of the hero’s journey with amazing full characters filling it out. I was hoping some of the voice cast might get a sneak cameo in the show. Who knows. Can’t wait for this show.

That you do get almost as many likes as subscribers AND 10 times as many views as subs makes me really happy and optimistic and hopeful for you as a way to have something substantial as a youtube presence because acting is mostly about finding your next gig! I just found this channel & it's the voice actor of my favourite character in ATLA. It feels surreal to see and hear the voice actor.

This is the only reaction that matters of overall approval the director did say it’s not weekly adventure it’s a drama fans have to cope with the changes because we’ve watched the original show how many times this generation needs it’s own version all I know is they are going for a book 3 and game of thrones tone so hopefully Netflix will renew for a season 2 and will get you to meet Toph

there's something that's bugging me. in IGN trailer breakdown video the showrunner talks about Avatar state and they have apparently 'tweaked' how aang can access it. they also said avatar state would be used less than animated show to make it special, and they have made chances which fans would understand...

@@WanMemeTong Well, they could be making it a lot more of it only happens in moments of great stress or danger. That was what it was supposed to be originally in the show, but they had times where he did it himself. I feel like maybe they're just leaning into that idea more if they're gonna make it happen less often, and if that is right, I totally would be cool with it

What I'm looking forward to most is the OST dropping, because the music in the trailer is already awesome! I'm also excited (and scared) to see how they portray Koh the Face Stealer.

What I love is that the Omashu looks soooo good. They really brought it to life. So far it seems like the visuals are almost identical to the animation which is actually really freaking incredible… I’m excited

Their music is incredible. I'm also way more excited about June than I should be! She just stood out to me in the show and she looks so bad ass.
