What a great and non-intrusive thing to have in your glove box. Thank you for the video on that!

Thanks John. Been looking for one of these for some time. Didn't know which one to go for. Bought the Topdon battery condition meter on your recommendation and not been disappointed, so just bought this. I am sure that it will live up to my expectations. Another excellent video, cheers.

A good video John, very useful. Bought a very similar unit branded as Lifeline about 4 years ago, the big black plug is almost identical. Have used it three times, once the Jag, once the wife's little Mazda and once for someone stuck in a big German car in a car park one day. It's proved its worth alright. I charge mine every 3 months, well worth remembering :) like you say our Jags are very demanding battery wise and you never know when your battery could play up. Changed my battery almost a year ago, it was a Varta approx 8 years old, still has some life in it so it's installed on my little solar power installation, I don't.like throwing things away 😁

Thanks, I've been keeping my battery in the house during the coldest months to prong its life. A bit of an overkill perhaps, so gadget worth considering.

Great video, I bought my lady friend one ( Blitzwolf 12000) just over 2 years ago which she misplaced during car change shortly after. She just found it last week and it's still showing 50% now. Needless to say I have been mildly peeved about having to jump start her car more than once between times! Ok, never mind that, tells us about that Royal Mail collection box at your front door!!

Hi John. Great video. I also tend to keep my xk8 on a battery tender which does seem to extend the life of the battery but I feel could also make knowing when the battery needs replacing a little harder to spot.. A couple of times each year I do road trips and so this is the perfect gadget to have with me. Just ordered one. Thanks! Steve

Thanks for sharing Stephen. Yes very much the same for me. I worry if the battery tender is lulling me into a false sense of security😁. But now i do test my batteries at least annually and tape a slip of paper with the date and results to the battery. So I hope to be able to spot the decline in condition before it bites me.🤞

Hi John, useful stuff. I really can recommend those little Li Ion power packs. didn't have to use it on the XK8 yet (new bat, always on CTEK when asleep in the garage) but once I let the bat in my Corvette go flat cause the bat tender came off the plug. well, I was a bit suspicious if something that small could provide enough amps to start the big V8... and it did. so indeed some item worth having!

Hi john. I have to correct you regarding the positive, or live terminal on the battery. If one is removing the cable that is attached to the positive terminal and you touch your wrench to just about anything metal on the car, you will complete the circuit that you originally broke when you removed the negative cable. Upon completing that circuit, current will flow through that wrench and through you causing a very significant shock.

Thanks for watching Dave and for taking the time to comment👍. But No. If the negative (earth lead) is disconnected then you can touch the positive battery terminal to any bare metal on the car as there is no route back to the other side of the battery and so no current can flow.

Thanks John I was toying with the idea of buying one of the larger jump starters, but was put off by the size of them - certainly not an item that would fit most glove boxes. Just used your discount code via the ebay link and saved a tenner off the marked price ... so £55 with free next day delivery.

Hi John, another very informative video, what do you reckon is inside - I would guess it’s capacitor or do you think it’s battery based… just thinking what the expected life span - do you know?

  • @ToTheGarage

Really not considered it John, but now you have me thinking. Capacitory are good at releasing energy really quickly, so is that what they have done🤔 or is it pure lithium ion battery tec and its just fabulous packaging to get it down to that size.. How do we work it out without breaking my case open🤔

John, I hope you're being paid lots of money to promote this device. Please get back to stuff that isn't being sponsored and of course you cannot be bought. UNLESS you need it to supplement the channel in which case go for it. Never figured out why you need a strobe on the lights that you can get today ?

Hi Gary. Absolutely no sponsorship and no payment. Im too fond of saying what I think😁 (they were sent for free though, in return for feeding back my honest opinion) I think the strobe is intended as a general underbonnet aid to observing the moving parts. I have certainly used one to watch a jumping fan belt before and although obviously its not synced to engine speed and so cant freeze the engine movement. it can usually give you a different view and a still rather than blurred naked eye view. I also think they are inteded to be used as a distracting light if you are under attack. Some alarm systems also have this. Its hard to target anyone in a physical attack under strobed lighting.
