With overtime i am creeping very close to over £50,100. With those figures I think I'm going to increase my pension contributions by about £150 a month.

Quidco has been poor lately, as none of my purchases has tracked, have raised 5+ claims with them this month alone....

Difficult question, depends on how much you are talking about, whether you have a fixed date in mind, what your tax position is, whether you want to use your ISA allowance and a number of other factors, including risk. The FSCS guarantee is still £85000 with the big banks, but there is also a £1 million guarantee for some temporary high balances. So, the best advice is to ask a knowledgeable individual who you are comfortable with sharing your exact circumstances.

When does the living wage actually start? The cleaners at my work are all moaning that they’re still on the same salary but they said it should have gone up in April ?

I wonder if this is a sneaky bailout of the housing market? Most people on £25k or under wouldn't be home owners so the fact they geared this to middle earners makes sense. I kept wondering what the reason could be to not help the lowest earners.

So a 50k earner is going to see around £200 more in wage packet??

Say I Earn £55k. If I was to contribute £5k into my pension, bringing my taxable salary down into that lower bracket, would I then be better off with the Ni reduction? Is there a balancing act that can help benefit from this?

The benefit from the NI reduction will be the same whether you earn £50,270 or £55,000.

The amount of NI you pay above around 50k is reduced to 2% but you'll pay 20% more in income tax. You could however claim pension tax relief on the £5000 you put into the pension and get £1000 back

Re NI - In some cases (eg mine!) you need 40 years of qualifying contributions for the full state pension. It's to do with contracted out pension plans

Quidco are poor at tracking and getting money from retailers. I’ve had to raise a claim on quite a few transactions as they don’t track properly and the timescales on claims are long

please turn the music off for your intros. You have no idea how distracting it is and it's baffling that youtubers seem to think it's a rule that you have to play music over speech.
