I am glad they got the bug fixed. i stopped using it but now I can go back and work on the other images

The option to send back a RAW file (.DNG) isn't really fixed!! Because if you work with DNGs in Lightroom and send them to Topaz PhotoAI the original files will be overwritten!!!. Also the setting of “Constrain Crop” option will be ignored if you’re working with a RAW file (like .CR3). The “Transform” settings will be used but not the “Constrain Crop” option.

Adding the “return to Collection” option is a big deal (at least to me). I am glad to see that Topaz continues to make improvements or adjustments big or small

Does it do the lens corrections as well?

Hi Dave Kelly I watch your videos about Topas Photo AI, I use Windows Photoshop and Bridge, when image is processed in Topaz Photo AI it goes back to Bridge, as a TIF file, I would like it to come back as a DNG file, as it has done in the past?

With this update, the returned dng file does not have the previous LR edits applied. Still need to do the copy/paste of the edits to the new dng.

With this new update, I have problem in dealing with batch conversion of upscaling. It only process the first file and leave the rest unattended.

Dave - there is still an issue with this update. While it is true that PhotoAI does now return a raw file but the file it returns will OVERWRITE the original file - doe not give it a unique name.In otherwords you loose the original unedited file. I almost lost several files before I realized this and confirmed the issue with Topaz Fortunately I had a backup copy of the original files.

Dave, Question for you. When you started with the source images you stated that you had made some adjustments meaning that they had good lighting but when those images were put into Topaz what I saw on the screen was an image that was much darker leading me to think what passed into Topaz was not adjusted. But the image that you showed that was passed back into LR from Topaz looked like the original image. This the same problem I have been having. If I send an image to Topaz using the plug-in method the image that gets to Topaz is too dark to use effectively but if I send it to Topaz using the edit in method it is not dark. Thoughts?

It goes to Photo Ai as a RAW file without any edits, that's why it looks dark. Then it returns to Lightroom the Lightroom edits are applied to it.

Are returned raw files smaller than tiff files?

Has not fixed mine no idea as to why ?

Do you like more photo ai or sharpen+denoise?

@@kevinprideaux6653 Sometimes it is exported as a .dng file and other times as a .tiff file. All the same photo. So weird. Also, not all .dng files are returned in Lightroom Classic. I have to re-import the missing photos into Lightroom. I send the command from Lightroom to Photo ai with the plugin as I have always done and never actually had any problems with it, but since the last update, it does not work properly. What kind of issues are you having?

I think this app always has returned a tiff file - they just missed the renaming.

It didn't. You would not be able to use camera profiles if it returned a Tiff file, now that it's returning raw files we can use camera profiles again.

@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly Wouldn't it be dependent of which file type the profiles expect to find? Can you imagine what happened to Photo AI to make it return tiffs in stead of dngs?
