instead of silly interface changes, why can't they fix it so it can denoise and sharpen faces, especially ones smaller in size captured inlow light with high ISO without turning them into grossely deformed monsters.

I agree. Sometimes the app does an amazing job and sometimes faces just become a mess with distorted mouths and out of focus hair

Thank you, Dave, for the pointers. I, too, prefer dark mode; it helps me focus on the images more easily. Similarly, I would never want to write over my original file so the fact it prompts us to make a decision is a plus - though I never found it automatically opted for over writing in previous versions - just appended what had been done to the end of a new file. Photo AI is getting better and better all the time and I find now that I rarely feel a need to resort to the stand alone DeNoise, Sharpening programs. However, I do find that sometimes when upsizing a file - for instance a one to one, direct, Cruise Scanner scan of a painting that is for instance 40 x 40 inches at 300 or 450 dpi to 48 x 48 inches - that Gigapixel is needed as Photo AI tends to crash - doesn't apparently use the GPU apportionment of work as well as Gigapixel - I use an older version thereof with better GPU management than the newer version; - and it - Photo AI - alters the image quality of a painting's scan in a way that takes it away from - rather than helps retain fidelity to the starting point scan.

Dave - First let me say that I thoroughly enjoy your videos, particularly the TK Fridays. I have a request. A while ago you posted a video showing how you set up your panels in Photoshop. I would ask you to redo this incorporating the various new add ons from Tony Kuyper. Thanks.

How can I add my Topaz to the PS filters. I have tried a number of times with no luck. When I am in PS working on an image I do not want to go out of PS and open a Topaz file to improve the image. This way I only have to click on filters in PS and there will be all of my Topaz filters/files.

Thanks. BtW, "System" color scheme seems to be the same as "Light" and I don't like either (I'll take it Dark). It would be nice if they had medium gray (I use that in DxO PhotoLab as it's less distracting than darker or lighter). I don't happen to use LR, so I generally export from PL7 to Photo AI in those relatively rare cases where I use it (as PL7, with an occasional trip to Nik, especially Silver Efex Pro, provides enough processing to get great prints), in which case I'm working with TFFs.

What extra features does Photo AI 3 have over Gigapixel 7? I was able to download a trial for Gigapixel 7, which included upscale, denoise, sharpen, fix compression, face recovery, and gamma correction. I'm confused what extra features Photo AI 3 includes, since Gigapixel's upscaling function is also included into Photo AI 3 already. GIgapixel 7 also included 8 AI models: -Standard -Low res v2 (beta) -Art & CG -Low res v1 -High fidelity -Text & shapes -Lines -Recovery (beta)

There are lots of reports that all versions after 2.3.2 (3.0.0 to 3.0.3) have a completely broken Preserve Text function. Many reports with examples I have seen that were good in 2.3.2, but garbage starting with 3.0.0. Have you seen the same problem in all the post 2.3.2 releases?

This is the reason I wait with upgrading my Topaz Photo AI to the latest version. I use the Text Preserve function a lot, it worked great in the older versions of Photo AI. So, until Topaz fix this problem I hold on to the old version of Photo AI.

Trying to understand what Photo AI does. At the moment it is just a combination of the existing Topaz sharpening and DeNoise programs? Is that true? And it will grow to include maybe all their modules like Gigapixel which currently is standalone? Correct? I went back to using the old DeNoise and Sharpening programs because I felt I had more control. I did hear from their representative during a “chat,” god forbid I should actually speak to someone, that they will no longer support their individual DeNoise and Sharpening modules.

I am finding - see my comment from earlier here - that I am using Denoise and Sharpen less and less because the results I can achieve with Photo AI are comparable or even better and because I can play with all three parameters at once; saving time. What I will do with Sharpen AI though, that I find useful for my purposes - though I honestly don't know if it makes a truly substantive, appreciable difference is? If I am starting our with an image that isn't a DNG? Say a TIFF and want to turn it into a DNG and then apply processing it as a RAW file? I can select with Sharpen AI to output it (the former TIFF) as a DNG And then "have my way with it". It hasn't hurt anything that I can see and certainly hasn't degraded the quality.

Hi Dave. I have the Topaz Bundle of Gigapixel 6 AI, Denoise AI, and Sharpen AI. I was wondering if the sharpening, denoise, and enlargement algorithims in Photo AI are much improved over these older products. Thank you for all your great videos.

Those products have always been great but I do believe Photo Ai is becoming better as they continue refining it.

is topaz focusing on becoming just another lightroom plug in and ignore non adobe users?
