if they genuinely only change the launch i feel like no one will give a shit. and the gp will probably not ride it because not enough of the ride has changed since the accident. they will see the same exact ride and just avoid it

@@CoasterCheetah yes but u said that’s best case scenario. i’m saying if they only change the launch then they fucked up bad. coaster enthusiasts will care but that’s less than 1% of cedar points guests. i know for a fact my friends will see it as the same ride regardless

This seems like a really good concept especially to the fact that so many enthusiasts love rollbacks on dragster.

Super sick. also the fact that it would technically break the 500ft mark is awesome

As much as I am heartbroken as TTD is my #1 coaster on my bucket list. This would be an incredible re-imagination which would be a worthy replacement of TTD. Also with the vertical twisted spike, it would pay an homage to wicket twister. And on top of that, with that design, Cedar Point, could actually re-enter the record books, with Top Thrill Dragster being, the world's: tallest, fastest multi-launch coaster

Imagine having a double rollback?! We need this!

I love the dragster. I've been on it probably 3 to 4 dozen times over the years. This is a really cool concept but would cause the line to move incredibly slow. The current dragster normally has 4 trains running so you can load 2 and unload 2 at the same time. I feel like this would only allow 2 trains.

LSM launches don't need to reload the way cable launches do and the switch track speeds things up further. In theory you can treat the top hat as a block zone and launch the next train immediately after it passes through, assuming ride ops are fast enough. Additionally a block zone after the switch track would allow you to queue the next train directly on the transfer while train three is loading. A separate unload would further ease the process. I think 3 trains in this setup would be faster than the present 4.

@@lastone032085 I was thinking more about the time it takes to launch, roll back, then launch again. But yeah if they move the loading zone back around the corner and have the tracks shift they could definitely be loading 1 to 2 cars and unloading 1 while a train is doing those motions.

Nailed it!!! I’m all about the swing launch.

A superb ride. Cedar Point will be taking back all the major records. I cannot Waite to experience it next summer! Thanks for the great content and inspiration

This is like the best Wicked Twister and Top Thrill Dragster duo ever! Very nice concept indeed my dude!

It looks awesome but I wish the LSMS continued while going over the air time hill. Good to see how far it made it up the hill on the first launch because I hope the new ride keeps the 120mph launch.

I mean don't get me wrong, this looks absolutely insane and I love it, but something inside of me just says we're not gonna get something this cool :/

I really like the swing launch of this design, because it still has a ton of speed and power behind it, the hardest pill to swallow tbh was losing that powerful hydraulic launch, but I am starting to come to terms with it (please have an at least 100 mph first launch)

If they actually did a swing launch or something similar to this that would be absolutely wild, not to mention extremely costly. Here's to hoping they really do swing for the fences.

This would provide three strata drops as well as three other airtime moments, and would kick ass on its former self, although not Falcon's Fury if it gets done, which is supposed to have a 498' drop and about 2.5 miles of track. BTW What's the drop stat of this NL2 creation! Thanks for posting!

That name I thought of 10 months ago, was very close to it’s official title that was announced earlier today.

The track switch so close to the spike seems like it would create a situation where it would be impossible to implement a safety brake system to stop the train in time should there be a problem at the switch while the train is coming down the spike.

Not a problem. Block zone immediately passed the switch track then launch after the switch is reset.

I like the spike but at the end of the ride, after it already has all the momentum coming down the top hat. Just seems like the spike would be way too close to the crowd if it's behind the launch. When it ascends the spike, it would roll backwards, towards the top hat going half way up, then coming down hitting the brakes, then transfer track. This would put less stress on the brake system as well as there would be less momentum coming down half of the top hat

How do you get the switch track to function automatically? I've been trying to implement them on some coasters but I can't figure out how they function in this application.

Awesome design, im not sure how long its gonna be in service for, firstly, TTD costed a lot to keep it running, and a fatality, this seems like it will only be here for about 5-10 years, but this is a MUST ride if it is made

We use No Limits 2 for the coaster/render and Blender for the scenery.

Whose track is that on the concept? It doesn't look like Intamin's normal track for this type of ride.

This is a modded new generation Intamin track style.

I think this is pretty close to what it’s going to become but honestly capacity is probably gonna suck really bad on this lol

They would have to move the station to the left to either keep the launch where it currently is, meaning the turn before the station exit will have to change. Or move to launch right to fit in the spike and switch track, thus meaning the top hat will have to change... All this to add a spike? Not gunna happen

What everyone thought Drachen Spire would be:

Strata Coaster 1 looks too intense for me!

Remember, this wouldn’t take the height record if we consider the fact it has to be full-circuit only

Now imagine if let’s say Mack helped make this it could have a reverse car or dare I say it a spinning car!!!!!!

This would be INSANELY low capacity, it would literally quadruple the length of the already 3-hr line

Minor changes needed. Block zone the xfer, block zone immediately after the xfer, top hat effectively acts as a block already, block zone after the brake run and a last one in the waiting position. Optionally there could be an unload zone. If ride ops are good 3 trains should be a lot faster than what TTD was capable of before with four trains as it could fire off trains nearly consecutively.

@@lastone032085 still won’t be as fast. Operations can only be as fast as the longest block, and the train takes 40 seconds from the start of the launch to clearing the top hat.

Not to mention that’s before the transfer leaves the multi launch, reaches the other side, the next train rolls onto that, then it leaves that side, then it reaches the other side, THEN that train can launch. It’d be well over a minute long in between dispatches

@@mynameiskrysta with the changes I mentioned it wouldn't be that long. Magnetic brakes could hold a train on the top hat if needed. The next train could already be out the xfer with the block zone ahead clear for a roll back if needed. While the train in the station can either move forward to wait for the xfer or move back into the waiting zone while the train on the track can wait on the brake zone when it completes the circuit. That's well under a theoretical 30 second interval. Most ride ops take twice that so... Capacity can be worked around. :)

@@lastone032085 magnetic brakes aren’t block brakes, it requires friction brakes also what you just described is what i was also basing that off of and it would still be a lot longer.

If it wasn't obvious enough, this is better than Dragster.

Maybe rather than going forwards 1st why not go backwards

We chose Polaris because Cedar Fair already has the rights to it but nice idea!

If the spike was 500 ft that would be cool but a total remodel like this is very unrealistic

A coaster that goes over 400 feet 3 times.

Why is Cedar Point being so hush hush about this? “As we know it” says nothing. New launch and a tunnel seems logical. Of course this concept is sick and any fanatic would frenzy over this. It also in fact would destroy plenty of records. Including crowds. I’m not sure people are keen to waiting much longer in lines than when it’s peak season. So maybe they should add an extra car on a separate track ready to roll out as soon as the previous car clears the top hat. So when that car reaches the back straight it can have a brake system there too as the same with the car leading up to the incline . First time it doesn’t go over the hat anyway. So that should allow for a nicer transition allowing more cars/trains to run through. One car goes over the next one launches right away. Another is loading and a third is unloaded and heading to the gate. 4 cars running with two in action. Thoughts?
