Hey! I just watched y'all video for the first time. I really enjoyed y'all video, adventure and informative. Thank you for staying away from the typical "Top Ten..." style. I'm a travel vlogger and been filming outside my country (THE US). I was struggling on feeling inspired in what to film in Dallas and what to show. Y'all video really inspired and I appreciate that. I didn't know it would be difficult to film my own country. I definitely am like & subscribing!

@@TouristtoLocal that likely means you flew Southwest which was a great decision! Southwest is THE airline of Texas and even though American is based in Fort Worth it's a POS airline....and so is D/FW Airport vs. Love Field.

Hey guys, I really enjoyed that awesome video. Thank you so much. I have to confess, I too don’t really like sharing my food also lol 😂 a true story. I hope I’m not typing too soon but, isn’t there plenty of underground’s in Dallas where you can eat and shop at shopping malls as Texas gets so HOT?

I lived in Old Town, and made several trips a week to Chili's. When they were bought out Chili's lost the flavor of their hamburgers and soft tacos. It's the only place I played tennis when it was 104 degrees.
You mentioned the little parks in downtown Dallas. About 20 years ago, the city wasted about a million dollars on a study asking why people don’t spend time outside in the downtown area. Obvious answer - it’s hot…several days of 104 to 107 in July, 2022. And it’s cold in winter. We actually get more wind than the “Windy City / Chicago. Cold plus wind means it’s uncomfortable outside.

@@steveludwig4200 If you haven't been to the Cattle Drive in down town, it is certainly worth it. The art museum, the Perot Science Museum and the Holocaust Museum are certainly worth it. Going up and going out on the Ball - whatever it is called - is worth it. There are more things to do in downtown Dallas. For my money, Dealey Plaza and the 6th Floor Museum are just OK.
Which month of the year did you guys visit Dallas Texas I love the weather.

This was during the summer (June I believe). Pretty hot and humid! Spring or fall would be better in our opinion.
I went to Austin for the first time ever 2 months ago and maybe I go visit Dallas for the first time too, but I was wondering if it will be more fun or less fun or will it have a different vibe overall. What’s your perspective?

We prefer Austin over Dallas personally. In Dallas things are pretty far apart, whereas in Austin things are generally closer together. But both are unique cities with their own distinct offerings.

I'm noticing in a lot of your shots, it seemed quite empty of locals except for your fort worth gun fight shots. I just came back from Dallas and it felt empty. I thought it was the February winter causing the lack of people. What were your overall thoughts on the locals and the energy they add or don't add to the city's energy?
@TouristtoLocal
2 жыл бұрын
Good question! We had filmed most of this during the weekday, so we figured the lack of people on the street must have been because people were at work. During the time we were at the Fort Worth gun fight, it was a weekend, so we definitely noticed a lot more people out. I think during the middle of the week it is just dead outside!

Downtown is like that, if you got to other neighborhoods especially in the evening there are plenty of people walking around.

So I want to ask a Texan their honest opinion of how life is like in Dallas, Houston, and Austin because I’m very interested in moving out there to be near family. There just seems to be many positives in each city that it’s so hard to choose. I’ll definitely be visiting just not sure which one first.

When we were considering moving to texas we felt the same way! Each city is so distinctly unique. After visiting the big ones, we'd have to say San Antonio would be the best fit for us. There's plenty to do and we loved the river walk!
@lancehaddockable

You can get some of the same things in all of the places. The difference would be the community that comes from the people. I am always between San Antonio and Houston. Houston is large but the way people make you feel and the way Houstonians come together. It would be the place for me

Best big towns to live in 1. Fort Worth 2. San Antonio. WORST: 1. Dallas 2. Houston
Thanks for the video. Dallas and the state of Texas in general, “good” economy but nothing really special for entertainment (other than sports). Plazas, eateries, parks that you can find in any other state/city in the US. In my opinion San Antonio may offer something more unique. Assuming these are the top things to do in this city is not bad, but Dallas looks very average. Did you miss something?

San Antonio is on our list for upcoming trips! I think it will be more our style. I'm sure there are more interesting things to do in Dallas, but we need more time! With it being so big, it's a little difficult to get your bearings.

Downtown has great architecture, restaurants, rooftop bar, good good, FW Zoo is one of the top zoos in the country, Trinity Trails is over 100 miles of hike/bike trails and includes bike Rentals. Also, West Magnolia St. and South Main areas are both hip neighborhoods just south of downtown with bars, restaurants, coffee shops.
