The hardest stars in Super Mario 64: Every god damn star in Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride.

Hardest star for me was easily getting the 100 coins in tick tock clock. So many deaths, so much rage, never again...

Metal Head Mario Can Move! made the top 10? All 5 on your honorable mentions list are worlds harder than that star.. It's completely doable without jumping down the hill. Just run the path, you'll have plenty of time. Also, the penguin race is harder than the Tall Tall Mountain slide if you ask me. The slide itself isn't bad, but that penguin is real friendly with the devil himself.

You just contradicted the fact that you said no coin-based stars....rank 1..

thetealeo I believe he meant red coin stars within the main levels, but Number 1 is a castle star. And besides, that level deserves to be on any list for the hardest levels, because it is indeed very challenging.

***** Because it's not just a matter of steering it left and right, and the occasional up or down. You need to control it carefully, and allow it to fly.

The most difficult star to get for me is trying to get 100 coins for the clock course.

+Spritzer Hayden I did it, but it took a lot of tries. I had ALL possible coins, that were a total of 98 (including all 8 red coins again), right before the very last floor. You needed to make it to the last floor and you couldn't afford falling from the two rotating platforms, which needed some tight low-jumps without building much momentum. Still can't believe the game had you missing only 2 coins up to that point.

Regardless of the fact that I've played through this game so many times that every star is a piece of cake, I clicked on it anyway bc I just love this game so much. You're list is accurate for people who haven't played though the game 250+ times, good job.

The peach slide secret star where you have to finish in under 21 seconds is one of the hardest.

my only issue with this list is in the next 5, shoot into the wild blue is maybe the easiest star in the whole game (besides toads) with a side flip wall jump

***** First off, Hoot the Owl is only in Tall, Tall Mountain in the DS version. Not to mention that that shortcut wasn't intentional. Oh, and you have to grab the monkey on top of the mountain and select "Let Him Go".

This was very thorough! I enjoyed it and agreed with pretty much all of your points.

You did an Excellent job with your count down!!! You can tell this took a long time to put together and it was very well made!!! And I also agree with your choices of the hardest levels. Unfortunately for me..ALL the levels in SM64 were hard😂😂 but great Job!!!!👍👍 I will check out your let's play

The hardest world imo was tall tall mountain next would be little/big world(forgot the name) and third would be tick tock clock. Some of the stars for these were just unmerciful

(Better than me anyway XD) Super Mario 64 was the first game I ever played, and it gives me good nostalgia laying it on my Wii U, though one of the hardest stars for me was "Wall Kicks Will Work" I finished that level when I was 7 and I couldn't complete it for the life of me XD I just sucked with Wall Kicks. Hi, loved your difficulty roundup even though you recorded it quite awhile ago; it's new for me! :) Like you, this was the first video game I ever played and I was completely enthralled!! My list pretty much matches yours, just in a different order. My most difficult star was "Stomp the Thwomp" for some reason. (Runner up was the one hundred coins star in Tic Tock Clock but I know you weren't counting those.) ~ Anyway, thanks for bringing back some fun memories for me of this great game!

What about Rematch against Koopa the Quick? That's always a hard one - gave me a lot of trouble as a child.

Wing Mario Over the Rainbow was the last star I had to complete as a kid too. Took me weeks and a few rage quits. Glad to see it #1 on your list!

Plunder in the sunken ship: there's a small air pocket at the top corner you can go get air from while trying to open the chests

Not gonna deny that you are one hell of a KZreadr :D Good pace, great voice, no extra clusterf**k in the videos... cudos to you my good sir (tips my hat at you) !!! The only nitpicky thing I personally felt - and keep in mind, this might just be me, and for the record, it's not a huge thing - but it's great that you wanna point out that you have a let's play of the game so that people know that this isn't just something someone put out there after watching someone else's let's play... but imho I think that you might have pointed it out a little too often... just saying... But hey, as I said, it's nitpicky, just trying to give constructive feedback :)

I feel accomplished that 4 through 10 and the next 5 I completed in my initial 70 stars to beat the final bowser. I think one of the hardest for me was Eye to Eye in the Secret Room because of the damned wall jump that has to be pretty much done on the first try because of the damned invisi cap timer. It just got super frustrating despite not dying

Dude, literally one of my first memories as a human is doing plunder the sunken ship, that is not hard

For shoot into the wild blue just triple jump and then wall kick, no cannon required, makes your like *a lot* easier. But with the cannon ye it's actually pretty hard unless you retry the star a lot after you collected it to get better at the positioning.

“No Red Coin Stars” puts that cloud stage at #1

10. Oh gosh yeah that part is soooo frustrating!!!! 9. I use to have the chests memorized but recently when I played it again, I almost did die and it was hard to remember which order you open the chests. 8. Give me this one over the stupid Pinguin slide anyday. Yeah this one is hard, but at least it's fun and it's not a bloody race! 7. I actually found this one to easier because of the extra coins and I am very good at controlling Mario so that whirlpool didn't bother me that much. 6. I can see why this would hard for you, but for me it's a piece of cake because I am very patient and have great timing skills. 5. Definitely hard, but it's still alot of fun, but yes patience is key. 4. Oh gosh yes, this one is a NAIL BITER! One of the reasons why this level in general is a pain in the neck! 3. Seeing how this is the last level, I expected a challenge, well, needless to say I've yet to get these stars. So yeah, HARD!!! 2. I haven't even attempted this sucker, yeah that throw guy would send chills! 1. I have the players guide, and it even said this was the hardest star to get. Yeah I was too scarred to try it myself lol.

not too bad if you use the green shell on top of the stone gazebo thing

#2 is easy. It might just be because i'm good at the game, but you literally just have to aim in the middle of the rainbow.

Exactly what I thought. The cannons are really easy to aim in this game.

With number 2 and 3, you're making it harder than it actually is. When you go to the cruiser, you don't have to run over the platform. You can simply just jump over the expansions. Also when getting to the big house, you don't have to jump on the falling platforms. If you time it right, you can use a backjump to get on the glassblock.

Most of these stars are easy.

Lol watching and I’m currently on Elevator Tour In The Volcano. That last jump is a little tricky! I’ll get it tomorrow hahah.

I started playing a few days ago and now have 110 stars. I haven't done anything for Rainbow Ride yet, but I've done everything else up to that point, and personally, I agree with most of these, especially Stomp on the Whomp, but I think that you should have included something from Wet-Dry World, as there were a few hard ones there. Also, how do you do some of these without even dying once? I find that most of these stars I ended up dying multiple times on!

there are 2 impossible coins in thi, one literally spawns on the death barrier for one frame and deactivates. from that stage alone you havent got all coins

just saying, I do not thing mysterious mountain slide should be in the list..... Nintendo didn't intend this, but you can break the game and get the star without even going in the slide, just go to behind you from start, take the wind up, face towards the edge, you can see the star, jump down and kick, and bam star

When you get to the ship in the Jolly Rogers level, there's an air pocket if you swim to the top of the ship near where the star is, so if your health gets low you can replenish by swimming up there.

Super Mario 64 is a relatively easy game to begin with. In the retrospect of the game, these are (again in my opinion) the hardest stars. If you think they're easy, then the rest of the game is probably also easy. But again, if you got different opinions id love to hear em. Make a video or post em here

TheUofCWildcat I don't feel jolly roger bay has any hard stars, and there are certainly worse stars in tick tock clock. and metal head Mario can move is easy as crap. while I do agree that the rainbow ride stars are hard, and that the wing cap red coins are stupid, the beginning of the list was really underwhelming. im surprised nothing from tiny huge island made it on this list.
