Love watching your videos, I've made so many things for my home over the years, kids all grown and now making their own homes, so I'm sitting back enjoying watching rather than doing. A hint if I may, when using thread use dental floss, it's extremely strong, glides through all materials and will last for years.

I agree. Fishing line is the same but most people have dental floss on hand.

Hi FIA! I love this compilation 💜 I do believe your basket 🧺 lamp at the end was quite special, as it appears to be a sweet grass basket from the Low Country of Charleston, SC. Baskets this size can sell upwards of $300.00 depending on the size and artisan. Beautiful job FIA!

Everything is so gorgeous, I love lamps but the basket lamp is the Greatest replica of that Ikea lamp

Really nice. I just realized that a while ago, I found a lamp at Goodwill that's exactly like the one in your sixth project. I transformed it using a similar technique, and it is one of my favorite projects thus far. Thanks for the other inspiration. I appreciate the ideas.

Thank you :) 10:55. You can also use duct tape or any thicker tape and place some strips across the top of your bucket to hold the stick in place while the cement dries. instead of scrap wood, if you don’t have any on hand :)

An idea for the leather tape: find some paper that the tape adheres to easily and without bubbles, cut the paper into long strips to fit the length and diameter of the lamp rods, apply the tape to the paper, wrap the paper around the rods, secure the paper with glue.

I was thinking of modpodge (ing) paper to the leg and then put leather tape. But your idea seems better

I can’t count how many DIY videos on KZread have stores, resources and cheap products I don’t have available near me. Maui doesn’t have a Dollar Tree, or any dollar store for that matter. A tourist once asked my group of friends where the dollar store was and we just stared blankly back, trying to process what they said. My friend goes “a WHAT store?!” We were 17-18 and I said, “you know those stores you hear about or read in books or see on tv where they sell things for a $1.” She incredulously, at barely comprehendible speed could only slowly say, “One? Dollar? When was that before we were born?” By this point the couple was already slowly backing away, obviously realizing they startled my friend who believed things like dollar stores were as real as Santa Claus. The year was 2007, we were seniors in high school, which is what makes this funny yet also sad. She always wanted to travel, explore the world and find a $1 store after that. We don’t have IKEA.. (thank god) We DO have an expensive Goodwill. Barely has anything good since it gets cleaned out so you’ll need luck finding things like a lamp. Also, a lit candle in dried woven plant matter… I’m afraid it would give you more light than you’d hope for by getting the whole home lit up and toasty 🔥🏚🔥

That is so funny a few weeks ago I got the SAME EXACT big white lamp from Good Will on a day it was half off for $8 and I painted it black, aged it and uses the same lamp shade, too 😂

Hello, i love the cork wall sconce but where can I find that light socket ?

For the table lamp I was thinking to sand down that black area you sprayed stain that and spray black toward the top of legs?

Any ideas on how to stop a pendant light from swinging? I want to have that cane pendant from IKEA in my room but that would just swing due to the fan and cause me dizziness.

Hmm… I will think. Definitely always use the clips that come with the pendant light kits because they keep everything secure.

How do you turn the sconce cork light on and off without having to take the whole thing off the wall?

Next time save the lamp post and make a candle holder out of it, then you will have two projects love your ideas….😊

I like when people decorate their own space based on their personality vs being a follower & million other people are doing the same thing because it's in trend. Everyone's house is looking the same without character,reflection,or personality.

😬 The basket lamp with a candle? No. As a teenager I almost burned my parents house down using wood candle holders. The stick lit the base on fire and I woke up to a smoke filled room with black ash everywhere. One of the biggest safety lessons of my life. And I still see cheap hazards like these being sold.

Get your hair dryer out and try smoothing as you heat

I am not loving the easel lamp. Think it would work better if you used an even darker stain. That is just my humble opinion.
