That depends on your definition of raptor, its wierd. So theres the dinosaur raptors which are a monophyletic clade that include velocoraptor and such, but not birds, although they are closely related, and theres also bird raptors which isnt monophyletic and is sorta just a pick and mix of birds of prey. So technically its not correct to call chickens raptors, although they are definitely dinosaurs since you cant leave a clade (similar to how we are fish(

@Be_A_Bisexual_Warlock Firstly I would like to say all of this is pretty much summarised in the video "You are the hagfish of reptiles" by Clint's Reptiles so if you dont feel like reading then ye so basically it relies on the principle that all biological groups, or clades, are "monophyletic". That means they include every single organism that evolved from a common ancestor without exception, cos it's way more useful in biology. Generally there's a scientific name for these groups, but also a common name. For example, Mammalia is the scientific name for mammals. Where things get more interesting is when the common usage isn't monophyletic, for example fish - if you want sharks and trout to be fish, and fish to be a monophyletic group, then land vertebrates have to be involved too, since sharks split off from other fish before we did. Some other interesting conclusions of this model are that birds are dinosaurs, butterflies and other insects are crustaceans, and snakes are lizards! :D (but none of those are the other way round)

Interestingly, in the early stages of yoshi testing, they were tested in Australia right under the noses of the New Zealand Departy of The Fence! However, all Yoshis tested there tragically died, as they could only fly upside down, seeing as they were in Australia.

it's so interesting to see the views drop with each video from the top 10 dinosauruses series, like you dont need to see the others to get the video, but people must less click on it regardless, probably thinking they wont get it

I'll be honest, I'll be glad when this series is done.

We actually have ground-dwelling bats here in New Zealand. They walk around on the forest floor hunting food. They can fly, but not as well as other bat species, and are special among bats because they will often just forage on the ground, presumably because they know that gravity is a thing and that sometimes your wings can fall off or you can be caught in a net and exported overseas.

Sadly, we will no longer get to see our groundbats evolve into groundhogs and become forever flightless, as the introduction of opossums and other such european pedagogues has caused an evolutionary pressure in the population to retain the use of their wings to escape pregnation, and not in the manner of a Bartitsu black belt bat.
