The white coat Ragna used in the fight was actually a fanfiction version that just happened to have those powers, _actual series_ Ragna can't do those things if he tried.

You make a good point. I think it is more difficult to find bad OMM episodes but DBX is another story. Especially some of the earlier episodes.

DBX should basically die cause the show is shit now. Only episode that was good was Lucario vs Blaziken, but so many bad episodes has popped out and not to mention, Ringmaster. He's annoying, unneeded, and a waste of time.

In one minute melee, there are grudge matches where the animator has admitted to not liking a certain fighter and making them lose on purpose for that exact moment my time on the discord throughout the years made me realize that the grudge matches include: Silver vs Trunks (mali hates silver) Mario vs Sonic (josh literally said fuck sonic the day the OMM dropped) Sasori vs alice (maniac said he hates touhou and the fans) also mob vs tatsu looks like this because the original animator Hyozen's laptop(you heard right, laptop) Died completely when animating this. Their patreon shows what that originally was going to look like and frankly it's amazing. Due to due dates and advertisement schedules, HG had to make the entire fight from scratch using other animators (mali, Josh and team artist gabby) while being insanely rushed by everyone including their fanbase on discord. Hyozen has since not returned so it probably wont ever be remastered fully.

Cell vs meruem wasn't a "spite"/grudge match. it was just animated that way. Though the HG crew went with fan headcanon of meruem eating part of cell to equalize the power gap(dont overthink it, no research)

@@pesciisthebestcharacter5100 Agree, even if I was rooting for Cell to lose (because he's the morally worse of the two), I hated how one-sided it was. I was called a salty DBZ fan for just..not wanting Cell to get shit stomped.

Tbh Saitama vs Superman has to be one of my favourites, and I'm low key glad DIO vs Sakuya was my first OMM I saw. The way the Road Roller touches the watch before she could be crushed was pretty cool :D

3:55 This, I can agree with. Skullgirls legit has so much detail that simply matching it with something else is a pain.

Joseph vs Edward is extremely in character for both of them which is why it's my favourite as a fan of both series.

Bruh Sakuya vs Dio was the first time I ever heard of either of them. The frantic fast pacing, the creative uses of their respective powers, and the attention to detail by messing with the timer.

My favorite has to be Metal Sonic vs Bowser Jr. But that just might be because SMBZ was a big part of my childhood

Alice vs Sasori omm till this day piss me off. It always feel like she gets the short end of the stick.

The best one for me was Goku vs Saitama. Perfect pacing, animation and music.

Agree. Character bias comes into play for me too cause I love DBZ.

I remember being hyped that Cell was going to get a battle. The end result, a dull curb stomp that made me feel like I was being flipped off the whole time. After that shitshow I'd rather they just never touched him again. Dragonball GT used him better.

Alice vs Sasori is a lot worse than what you mention in the video, but it's understandable since you don't know Alice that much.

I honestly think Meta Knight vs Shovel Knight was far better then Meta Knight's fight with Zero. I really didn't like how poorly Meta Knight was represented in his fight with Zero, basically acting as a punching bag and only getting to show very basic swordplay with a little bit of flight in the middle. Meanwhile Meta Knight vs Shovel Knight had both characters fight fairly evenly and actually showed off some of the signiture moves and equipment of both characters. And, as you mentioned, the reasoning for the fighting with Meta Knight actually being Dark Meta Knight in his fight with Shovel Knight served as a good excuse to start the fight more so then other fights that did something similair. Meanwhile, his battle with Zero feels out of character for both with Meta Knight coming off as a total wimp and Zero just gleefully murdering him, which he wouldn't do to organics unless he somehow went maverick.

A thousand times this. With how badly it flowed and represented both characters, I genuinely cannot comprehend how anyone could prefer _MK vs Zero_ by comparison.

Honestly, _Zero VS Meta Knight_ was just garbage. Neither was in-character (MK being reduced to an inept coward, and Zero being turned into a bloodthirsty psycho who cheerily murders someone for no reason), it was completely one-sided (you could literally count the number of hits MK got in on one hand), and it just overall felt like a complete spite match, ala _Meruem VS Cell._ Pissed me off so much.

Personally I'm a fan of Metal Sonic vs Bowser Jr. It's technically not wrong in the context of Turbo Mecha Sonic's backstory and I loved the fake out before it makes every SMBZ fan start digging Jr his grave. Sure it's a brutal one sided stomp, but at least Bowser Jr got some hits in, as insignificant as they were. Plus that last hit was the definition of brutal, needing three KO voice lines to play. It also led to the equally as cool Bowser vs Mecha Sonic, but I much prefer this one.

Alice vs Sasori probably is my general least favorite OMM (outside of Dante vs Ragna lol) and I'm not even a big Alice fan, but her being absolutely out of character and having almost none of her potential utilized, killed in such a gruesome way in what's a blatant spite match from an animator who dislikes the franchise & fans just itches me the wrong way.

Same, I'm a Touhou fan so when I watched that episode I was disappointed. I mean I like Naruto too, I like Sasori. But the video was terribly inaccurate for Alice. (Also Alice would absolutely curb stomp Sasori in a researched fight *cough*)

To me knowledge, it's not like the Animator (I believe that was ManiacMizuto) didn't know *anything about Touhou.* The battle at first was been animated by Aquila Harukaze, who did Sakuya vs Dio, and I don't think I need to mention that she likes Touhou. But she left One Minute Melee to work *in just one DBX* - Aegis vs Noel Vermilion (among the best DBX's) and one DEATH BATTLE! (Lucario vs Renamon... I don't what happened on this one); ManiacMizuto had to pick up the pieces and continue from where Aquila Harukaze left off.

Hi, I'm a year late but I honestly loved Meruem vs Cell, though I can honestly see where you're coming from

I love this video! I've been looking for a minute melee ranking list,, I'm totally subbing, can't wait for more stuff!

Because I'm an absolute fangirl Undyne vs Pearl is one of my personal favorites, but yeah I can't really disagree with this except I'd bump that fight way further than it should be.

The biggest problem to me is that it feels wrong for Alice, someone who scales to outerversal beings lose to complete fodder in comparison to her, guess that's what I get from doing Touhou vs debates back in the day.

This might be bias, but I expect to see DIO vs Sakuya Izayoi on the good list. I don't remember every OMM, and I am certain there could be many that are better, but I'm betting it's at least mentioned. Edit: There it is, I agree with the placement after seeing the higher spots.

Yeah OMM has always been really amazing. Superman vs Saitama is the GOAT. Only one I really didn't like much was Sasori vs Alice for the same reason you brought up. (Plus they did Alice pretty dirty imo. )

Wahmin. That amuses me and perfectly explains my problem with the fight.

It is pretty surprising to see meta vs shovel get fit onto #10 worst, which is something I've never gotten but hey, I like to use drink analogies like the metaphor 'not my cup of tea'. At the very least, I like what you give on your thoughts about it! 9# best on Pinwheel vs Decap was a surprising pick since I oddly look down on it, probably because of the issues I've had to deal with porting the sprites for flash to not have a seizure and crash so it's probably some creator pettiness on my end #8 Worst I'll definitely agree on catwoman vs black widow being worst, considering I was still fresh during that time making it. An odd choice during that season but oh well. #8 Best was probably my most favorite of wanting to give this match up justice, considering most takes on it has a lesser quality (COUGHOr at least AnimationRewind standardsCOUGH) but thats neither here or there. #4 Worst was oddly fun to make, in some regard. since the sprites for polygon man were simply just turn around shots. What's also weird when animating polygon that in PS:AS, he just simply...becomes a background character until he lets you hit him, which is...weird on its own. I kinda just took those aspects and built upon that like throwing in excal from Warframe as a summon. (Now that I think about it, I should've tossed in an assist trophy reference, whoops) Still, batting up with final destination was hella necessary and I'm glad that there is some takeaway out of this. Honorable Mention with Edward vs Joseph felt a bit grueling, considering the sprite consistency between the two weren't exactly...Fitting. But hey, when lfie gives ya lemons, you make something out of it, ye? Anyways, I think that's all from me on the personal animations listed here. Odd that I haven't seen this yet but oh well, better late than never.

I like Wesker vs Batman because it's always fun to see Wesker killing Batman.

My favorite Omm is BB hood vs Peacock. And least favorite is slender man vs ender man.

Personally, I really liked Mecha Sonic vs. Bowser and Piccolo vs. Martian Manhunter, but I'm biased, I thought they were thematic and the fights made sense while also being really entertaining

My favorite OMM is honestly tied with both being the Saitama episodes. The Goku and Superman fights with Saitama were so good. Though I might say I like the Goku one more, cause they didn't reference Death Battle in the Goku one. Screw Goku vs Superman 2.

I honestly think OMM is top to bottom the best of really any vs show (especially of the big 3 at least) and it’s especially cool watching certain animators improve and become some of the best out there. Almost every episode has the speed and impact that other shows (especially DB) sorely lack, not to mention the genuine love put into the characters also helps a ton. At this point I’m honestly more excited for the OMM season than I am for a Death Battle season ngl

It's a shame this series was basically cancelled with no warning. It's so good

OMM was never canceled, season 7 was officially announced in 2019, the problem is because they have not been able to raise enough funds due to the pandemic of last year 2020. (also that at the beginning of each episode of Riot-Rumble they announce that they are NOT a replacement for OMM)

@@ironmaster6496 It's the only thing I hate, every Mini/Riot Rumble video that appears, the pseudo fans (who only saw the first part of Aizen vs Madara) start to offend the Mini/Riot show in the comment box. Even Mini/Riot have made fun of them many times.

This whole video I was thinking 'Godzilla vs Gundam has to be number one' but then I realized it was when they switched to Minute Melee and happened like a year after this vid. I'd also put Gaara vs Crocodile somewhere on this list. The battle is pretty one-sided, but Crocodile is so perfectly in-character it's hard just not really enjoy it as a One Piece fan.

Meruem had his limbs blown off from just a powerful bomb, that ISNT planet level. He’s super fast and strong, but nowhere near planet level either.

10:00 Sayaka VS Dio is actually my personal favorite. Like the sprites, the voices, Dio beating up Sayaka with his own severed arm, and the kickass finisher

fans: Meruem is planet-level me: then why did a nuke kill him? Plus, Cell is planet-level & could survive a nuke thanks to his healing factor

One that wasn't mentioned here but is one of my personal favorites is Undyne vs Pearl. It has some problems with the fight, I mean once Pearl shows she can dodge Undyne's attack, all tension is kinda lost cause like, what is Undyne gonna do? But the fact that it starts off as two soccer moms arguing and later is the only OMM to end with out a KO (yeah, we had draws, but they were double KO's) really just endeared me to it.

Shadow Vs Vegeta was my favorite

Ooof I gotta say for me personally I think the superman vs saitama one was the worst for me. I don't know if I gotta rewatch the fight but alot of the dialogue felt like it interrupted the fight. That wouldn't be bad cause honestly building a story around the fight is what omm does best but here it just felt like it put the fight at complete stand stills during the video. On top of that most of the dialogue came off as more massive damage control and preparing the audience for a saitama win so they don't get mad. But hey like you say in the vid this is just my opinion.

honestly... I like saitama in the anime and his goofy kind heated nature... But I'm kinda tired of seeing him. no point in watching a fight if there are no stakes in the fight. I just,,, I've grown annoyed with that idea... Then again I'm probably a massive baby because I hate the fact that sups and Goku Lost..

How you feel about Yang vs Bakugo is sort of how I feel about Sasori vs Alice. The whole fight is just one huge inaccurate portrayal on both sides. The fight stayed just...Static, there were no special powers, no limits being reached, nothing. They fought like two toddlers slapping each other. And I know that the show mentions "No research" but cmon. It's literally pitting a town destroyer vs at minimum, a star destroyer (And at max, a galaxy destroyer). Even the original animator of the fight was going to have Alice win, but nope, they got someone else to make it instead. A person who lives in a forest filled with poisonous air and is immune to poison.....got hurt/killed by poison. Seems legit.

What’s better death battle or OMM

I first watched Cell vs Merrum before I knew much about Dragon Ball and I knew jack shit about Hunter X Hunter (I still don’t know shit lol). And even then I knew something was off. I felt that Perfect Cell just didn’t seem like he should’ve lost here. Now that I’m a massive fan of Dragon Ball I can say that Cell vs Merrum is completely bullshit. First off. Cell isn’t planet level. He’s W A Y higher. Without going into complex power scaling, Cell said that his solar Kamehameha would destroy well, the solar system, and maybe even the whole galaxy. And even if he is highballing himself (which Cell seems like someone who would), solar system level is immensely higher than planet. So even if he was highballing himself, he still would’ve been vastly greater than the supposed planetary Merrum. Which on that topic. As I’ve said, I know Jack shit about Hunter X Hunter so I’m genuinely sorry if what I say is wrong. But from what I can tell it’s a lot like My Hero Academia, where the characters are super strong, but not for their destructive capabilities, but for their specific powers and martial arts training. So having a planetary character like this supposed Merrum that that person said would be dumb. It’d be like having Frieza in the original Dragon Ball. Overall Cell vs Merrum is insulting to Cell and just plain wrong.

What do you think of the Bowser OMM's?

Tbh, Saitama clowning on Superman and Goku, one shotting Goku, and scaring Gohan off felt like such obvious favoritism considering all three would mop the floor with Saitama's waxed head.

well from how it seems those matches were gag matches for fun, if it was taken seriously it would be more one sided but on saitama instead

Can't lie I love bowser vs mech sonic mostly for the nostalgia and it's probably my favourite one miniute melee

To be fair, even though I honestly don't like Bakugo, I can agree that the sexism with him was completely unnecessary. Other than that; I really did wanna see Yang punch his lights out.

Honorable Mention: Deathstroke vs Deadpool Just OMM better than Death Battles (D v D isn't one of them I'm just saying this as an idea)

My favourite is Ryu and Ken vs Terry and Rock. That donkey kick from Ryu is probably the heaviest looking hit in all OMM

I'm kinda sad that mereum vs cell was my first one minute melee. My favorite though is little Mac vs Hajime Ippo. It's really close between that and Madara vs Aizen. Two of my favorite anime villians.

And to the surprise of no one; Ragna vs Dante is the worst. Or as I like to call it, OC-Self Insert vs MVC3 Noob. Apparently it's getting a remaster, so...

Favourite one minute maylay is guts versus the guy from sword art online . There's only one problem I have with the fight and that is the reason they fight is stupid. I think a batteries and for them to fight is Guts being a levelled as kind of like a boss figure or having like a very high level so the character from sword are online thinks that he'll get more experienced by killing guts. Rather than oh my god you're called the black swordsman Me Too! So now we must fight It other than that the fight is amazing

What’s ironic about Saitama vs Superman being one of the best One Minute Melee episodes is that it’s not even timed.
