Melodic solos beat shred solos any day. Who agrees?

Emppu is probably one if the best rythm guitarrist in the business, his patterns are so accurate heavy but cristal clear at the same time, but when he solo, the stakes are way higher, is soloing is exquisite, he does what the song needs amazingly always showcasing his abbility for the harmonies. Great guitarrist and so underrated, he should be up there with the best of the best in the business and get so much more recognition.

Emppu's solos are amazing and unique in a way, he puts lots of emotions into them which differentiates him from the other guitarists

+Ian Jim I agree wholeheartedly. My favorite he's ever done, even though it's somewhat short, is the solo in Ever Dream. That solo should be the textbook definition of pure musical emotion. It screams desire and heartache.

Да, он молодечик , с 12 лет шпарит на гитаре, всю душу вкладывает в это дело, особенно нравится как он смотрит в зал и улыбаясь подмигивает зрителям , этим он показывает свое расположение к публике и что , он для нее выкладывается

My faves are from Beauty And The Beast, Crownless, Nemo, Creek Mary's Blood, Ever Dream and Wishmaster, in that order. Although he is amazing on every single song I think :D

Hes not even close to fastest in the world which is Herman lee but he is the best one in the world as far as creating eargasms

My favourites of Emppu are (in order): Last of the Wilds, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Sun, Nemo and the High Hopes cover (I am a massive David Gilmour fan as well and love a good tribute).

Emppu is pretty underated. His solos are very melodic. and shreddy at some parts. :)

Next to Tony Iommi, Emppu is one of my all time favorite guitarist, and is one of my idols in guitar playing.

All these solos are great and there are many others that didn't even get put on but to me i'm very partial to Creek Mary's Blood as number 1.

That part from Master Passion Greed reminds me of Children of Bodom... though I don't think it's a bad thing! Emppu has some tasty solos (:

kalmahman48 I replicate Emppu with red comp and a lot of sustain with overdrive on my Line 6 M13 Modeller, for my Gibson LP Standard. It sounds pretty close to me.

You can come closer to his sound with his esp ev Signature and the pod hd 500 or when you have more money you can use kemper Profiling Amps or a dual rectifire when youre not a fan of modeling.

I hab zu dem Zeitpunkt scho zehn Jahre gespielt aber hab sofort versucht Sleeping Sun nachspielen aber so wie Emppu kriegt mans sehr schwer hin. Der lebt einfach für sei Spiel. Mehr als viele andere und des hört ma sehr deutlich

You mean after the 1st chorus? That's just a keyboard solo, followed by a heavy riif. No guitar solo.

The title doesn´t say much, hehe. He has always been a hopelessly unimaginative soloist. He usually just repeats the vocal melody and adds a couple of standard licks at the end. Anybody can do that.
