Really simple way would be to take out the internal combustion engine, fill that space with lightweight batteries (in a quick change pack that lifts out the top?) and use only electric motors. and it would certainly still be the fastest car anywhere.

Never thought an LMP-styled car would look so good without a massive rear wing.

What a stunning design. Not overly styled, no “angry” headlights or over the top led running lights, just pure, clean form. This might be my favorite looking of the 21st century “HyperCars”. It’s a crime Porsche didn’t build them.

race engines must be warmed up. They but hot oil and hot coolant in. Tolerances are so minium.

My favorite car in all of the world has been, and will always be the 917. This car takes my breath away in its sheer beauty. Why Porsche won't build this for the street is a sad day for Porsche enthusiasts. I would cherish every foot of driving this 919. Thanks Blondie!

Have you ever been to a Porsche showroom? I was in England on business and visited one for fun. The beautiful paint and interior and new car smell was insanely nice!! Nothing like my 2001 Dodge Viper I bought new when I actually had money and credit. Loved my Viper which I had for 10 years.

Very classy design. The designer didn't just use a straight edge and a pen like practically everyone else. Kudos! Beautiful!

Alex's style is always on point.

I'm sure in a few years the engineers will find a way to make it work more like a production car. I hope. I love Porsche. I have a uncle in California with a 70's 911 SC targa. This is so beautiful. It reminds me of a modern day 956. Thanks.

When I first got a look at this car I felt it looked like the next generation Porsche 917 K

from what I know, Porsche was going to be making these as a limited series car, like the 918 previously, sadly it's been cancelled but for what I know Ferrari is making something like this as well for the new upcoming icona series car.

Well just use a modified 918 drivetrain, sounds odd that they’d develop this car knowing very well the the drivetrain is unusable 🤷🏻‍♂️

Porsche is the masters of engineering. This car really should have gotten made. Put a more compatible engine in it and it would be on par with the AMG One and the Aston Martin Valkyrie
