For Tony R.: Sounds like the electronic control panel located at the top of the door. It costs about $200. Had the same issue last year. Something to do with moisture from inside the dishwasher affecting the board. I hear the replacement parts have added extra protection (better board sealant?). It has been a year since I replaced it and so far, so good.

My control panel cracked right at the power button about a week after installation, and it was letting in crazy amounts of moisture. Despite that, the panel lasted 4 years before it started acting up. Bought a replacement for 200 and it's new again!

Nice job!!! That is a lot cheaper than a new dishwasher!

You didn't address my problem but you fixed it just the same! Couldn't get rid of the "CL" (Control Lock) despite following all prescribed solutions, including turning the breaker off for awhile. I ran your tests and the CL disappeared and it started right up. Many Thanks! (LG Model LDT7808BD)

My LG dishwasher LDF 7561ST has a start delay feature but it doesn’t allow a delay selection more than 19h. The user manual says the delay can be set up to 24h. I have turned off the braker for 10 sec, twice, but, whatever the programme chosen, the delay limit is still 19h, with a incrementation of 1h at each push. There are no error code. What could be wrong?

I have Model#LDF5545BD. I Tried the 1st test mode on the detergent latch, didn't work and I couldn't even get to 2nd test mode. I think this model has issues with the det. latch, door latch. When I called LG there was a recall on the control panel?? LG said to send a tech out there is a $125 trip and Diagnostic fee!! I was just hoping I could get through the test modes 1st before spending $ on this New Appliance!! Any suggestions?

My dishwasher still washes great but the drive motor makes noise while it’s running. It has a 10 year warranty. The service tech told me that it might continue to run for a year or more versus buying a new dishwasher or replacing the motor. I’d like to get your opinion on that. Great channel I subscribed.

Hi Rick, if the circulcation pump motor is noisy while running it is usually a sign that it is failing. In some cases a noisy pump can start to leak, so it is something to keep a close eye on. If it is under warranty, you should see if they will replace it for you.

Awesome, will give this a shot. Have this same model and it just recently started shutting off randomly after a few minutes of starting a cycle. No error codes, it'll just power down, then power back up. The other day, all of the lights on the display turned on at once. Not sure what any of it means. It's only about 1.5 years old and for the prices, it's pretty ridiculous that we're already having issues with it.

@@Virsavia77 No, haven't had a chance to go through these steps. Was going to give the "smart diagnosis " a try sometime next week. You call into customer support, push some buttons on the washer then place the phone near the washer and the customer service rep is supposed to be able to tell you what's wrong with it.

sounds like the control panel, easy to replace and it's under warranty by LG for 3 years so don't delay contacting them

This video has helped me immensely in troubleshooting my dishwasher. I have an LG LDF5678BD. The washer motor is very loud and I plan to replace this. The other message I see is when I run the Vario test I see the 1 LO followed by a C93. The display will flash alternately between 1 LO and C93. Any thoughts on this?

Great video to get me started with troubleshooting. OE error code, not draining properly. I have checked the drain line, it is free and clear (back-blowed with air). Tub filter is removed. No air gap device installed. Ran my fingers in the drain basin but didn't feel any debri. When running through test mode, the drain motor runs, but no water drains (it hisses air lightly instead) Advice?? TIA 👍

My Kenmore made by Lg is shutting off with an HE code 36 minutes into a cycle.It is model # 722.14673710.I tried your lg dishwasher test mode and I cannot get past step 4.When I press start to move to step 5,it stays in step 4 and continues cycling test 4.The first 3 test move thru fine.However,the board does not show me 01,02,or any numbers corresponding to test mode levels.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Your other how to videos are easy to understand.Thank you for that.

Mine overflowed with soap cause I put dish soap in it and now it has a red blinking light in the front and has a blinking error code AE how do I fix that? I already tried reseting it and even if I turn it off it turns back on beeping do you know why this would be?

I set my model LDF8874ST LG dishwasher to a quick wash mode and I ran a couple of errands. When I got home, the AE code was flashing, there was a little water in the floor and I tried to power off, and the power went off and then came back on and continued to flash. When I opened the door, I could hear the drain pump. I tried again several times to turn the power off, and it kept coming back on, pump running, so I unplugged it under the sink. I have watched your video (and a couple more) and it looks like it could be one of several problems, from the fan assembly to the door gasket, to the spray arm. None are obvious under inspection, so I suppose either 1. I'll have to tackle the job (I am 70 yrs old and my husband is not well). Or call an appliance repair. The ladder not being optimal. We also have an LG refrigerator that had to be serviced and finding someone to service LG was very difficult in my area. Finally, one came from many miles away, charged me almost $1000 and broke a freezer drawer glide and didn't bother telling me. I found it some time later, and it's been impossible to get the part. I also have an LG range. I will not buy LG again, even though I loved the dishwasher when it was working. Very frustrating.

Hi. My dishwasher is LD-12BW8. It shows error 0E but drains the water out and it seems to be continuously trying to drain. Hose is not clogged and I don't see any debris in the pump area. Can anyone please advise ? Thanks.

That could indicate that something in the vario valve system isn't working properly. It would be a good place to start your troubleshooting.

I'm getting an NE error code. I replaced the vario motor and a couple relays related to it, no help. I just tried running the vario motor test while the vario motor was hanging loose (I pulled it out to see if it was working during the year), and the vario motor was turning gradually during the test. I manually triggered the relay sitting next to the vario motor bracket and confirmed the test will advance to "lo.' Should there be a cam attached to the vario motor shaft ? I don't have one Bd wondering if that is why the ne code persists.

This video was great! I think my dishwasher is in a service test mode. The display is cycling through these 3 codes: n04 d32 U40 and all of the lights are solid (including the red, white and green lights on the front) but I can’t exit. Start and Cancel don’t work, the power button just double beeps and none of the other buttons work. Any idea how to exit or restart? The machine ran a full cycle yesterday, with no issues. Thanks! 😊

Thanks for the information. This is very helpful. My dishwasher doesnot clean upper rack. The nozzle and spray arm looks ok. In my case, test #7 4:06, there was no error code . It show 1 UN and 1Lo but there was no water sprayed from upper or lower arm during test mode. Is it normal in test mode ?. What could be the issue ?

Possibly a bad diverter motor? We would start by inspecting the motor and the pieces that the diverter motor moves.

Not sure if anyone can help but if so I have an lg and when I press the power button I get an L2 and can’t do anything else I’m not sure what to do if anything can help I would appreciate it.

My problem with the DW it shuts down after running a minute. So I ran the test and When I run test #6 it shuts the DW off. What are your thoughts?

Hi I have a LG dishwasher and it keeps popping up error code BE and I checked the leveling and also ran milk just like it said to and then had a plumber look at the leveling part and he said its leveled. Idk what else to do?. I turned on and off main breaker to dishwasher and still error code BE again. Idk what else to do. Please help.

I have been having issues where the dishwasher won’t turn on. I have to kick the breaker for a couple min and then it will work. Then after a couple times got an LE code, reset then get an IE. now when I do the test mode I can’t get anything to work. I am assuming it’s a control board at this time. Any thoughts?

When the dishwasher isn't draining, try running it through test #4 in the video. This should help you narrow down if the drain pump is running or not and help you narrow down the problem.

Hi there, I have LG dishwasher model LDP6797ST. All of sudden it stopped working. It has power but does not show on the touch pad buttons and not working. Can anyone help.

What is the code to skip to the last 5 minutes or end cycle? I saw an engineer do that in order to check if the dishwasher was completing the last cycle successfully. Also is there a way to only do test 7 for example, or do we have to go through all of them?

We have a LDF5545ss that’s giving the ie code. I have a water inlet valve order but I can see the water inside the water inlet guide when it’s filling and the bowl fills then a 30 seconds later it flashes the ie code. Any thoughts?

Most commonly a bad water inlet valve or a bad water inlet guide. Also, make sure to check the water supply to the dishwasher to make sure you have adequate water flow. We have a video on testing the water inlet valve here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qKZ4tc5rZNndkdI.html

Nice video! My daughter's dishwasher (LDFN4542S) required the Start, Power, and Auto. Her dishwasher has been beeping then powering down usually within a couple minutes but sometimes 15 min into cycle. The Smart Diagnosis comes back good and all the tests appear good with one oddity. The final test is supposed to test spray arms 1un, 1lo, and then 0lo. The 1st test it went straight to 1lo so I retried the test and then it went through all 3 . When I showed my daughter how to do it then it reverted back to testing only 1lo. Is this normal or does it indicate a problem?

As long as it is switching between the upper and lower spray arms then that test should be okay. It could be a bad control panel where it is pressing buttons on its own and causing it to stop running. Let us know what you find. kzread.info/dash/bejne/la6Zu9KxZpWqppM.html

Would you know the button combination for test mode on a LDS5540ST? There is no “Start” button on the panel. I’m getting an HE error at the end of the wash. Heater element is new so try to figure out what else to check

The technician has been onsite to replace the water inlet valve 3 times and so I have asked LG to take this dishwasher back since they don't seem to be able to fix this issue. I just replaced the main board. HV Connections cooked. Seemed to work. Then stopped to click, after I left. It just clicks doesn’t seem to advance or anything I’m gonna go back and see why tomorrow. If anyone has any ideas 🙂 I’ll be happy to hear them

I tried all of these tips and the only thing I noticed was that the 1 un did not appear, it went straight to the Lo. When I first start my washer it will run for a couple of minutes and then the entire display starts flashing and it shuts down.

Looking for video to change a cracked steam inlet hose. The preformed hose. LG model LDT7808ST Also how to scroll to a specific code. Drain 04 to get rid of water.

I have a MEZ64589015 that always has the * flashing on the the front of the machine, I filled the reservoir and still it’s flashing and will not start, seems like it is stuck in standby. I’ve reset the breaker and pulled the plug and still it’s locked in standby mode, any thoughts? Also loved your video.

Mine does the same. Light flashes but it doesn't start or run. Only about a year old, not used very often. I wouldn't think it should be having issues already!

Usually you have to narrow down the problem like you are doing by process of elimination. You could also check the wiring between the parts and the control board.

In the video you refer to test 6 as "wash motor", but I don't see a part specifically called this on your parts page. Is this the same as the "circulation pump"? My washer is throwing code LE.

I can’t open the door to my lg dishwasher; It’s stuck or a lock is on. I called Lg and was told to cut the power to the dishwasher off so that it could reset itself but that didn’t work. They referred the job to a contractor in my area but they don’t work on warranty products, idk. Please help. Thanks

We don't have instructions for the test mode for your model currently. The description of the problem sounds like a bad touchpad on the control panel.

Great useful video! I'm a maintenance tech jack-of-all-trades and running into all kinds of different appliances brand issues. Currently the LG at my home powered down, I vacuum the water out of the sump and power was restored what could be the cause? I'm thinking potential restricted drain?

I have this exact model and it has been giving me an E1 error on a normal cycle after starting to fill with water. Repair company has replaced water inlet valve and control panel without any fix. They even replaced the sump assembly which seemed unrelated. Tried running through these tests and Test #5 is where I see the issue. There is water filling into the unit but there is no “frequency” reading on the display (I.e. stays at 000). Any thoughts? I’m assuming the dishwasher is successfully sending a signal to fill with water it’s just not reading and water going in. Therefore it thinks it is leaking all the water.

We noticed that on Normal setting that 3/4 of the time when its 36 min left it starts beeping alot. I would have to press start a few times to bypass, filter is clean and I ran a diagnostic with LG app and it says all good. Can someone let me know if I should check something else?

I have this same model. But when I get to test 7 it only displays "LO" not 1un or 1lo nor.dpes it display an error code even though the pressure is weak in the lower arm and the arm does not spin or push water up to the top sprayer. Any thoughts?

Only one spray arm operates at a time. The diverter motor is what diverts the water to either the upper or lower spray arms.

I have the ldf5545ss model. I have changed the noise filter thrice already. On each change, the dishwasher starts working and goes off midway. and the Noise filter goes bad too. What coulkd be the cause? I have used other appliances on the power socket and they work fine.

It could be some component on the dishwasher that is bad and drawing high current causing the fuse on the noise filter to blow.

On the model dishwasher shown in the video to activate or deactivate the button sounds, press and hold Dual Zone and Energy Saversimultaneously for three seconds. The error alert sound cannot be turned off. Check the owners manual for instructions for your specific model if the instructions above don't work.

The control panel on my LG frequently flashes OFF then back ON quickly, and there is associated beeping noise. I’ve tested the power and it’s good, could this be a bad panel?

@Parts Dr, I engaged the test mode on my LDT5678ST because it has stopped sending water to the sprayers. Upon activating test mode, the display showed n04, d49, and U50. I then pressed Start. When the machine reached test number 7, the display showed C00 then 1LO with loud motor noise but no spraying either top or bottom. All other functions appear normal. Any ideas? Thanks very much!

When I engage my test mode, I get n04, d49, and U50 in the display. My test sequence differs slightly from the one you have listed. 1) Detergent door 2) Sump temp 3) Door vent blower motor 4) ?Soil sensor? Display shows "180" 5) Drain valve/motor : Good 6) Water inlet valve/motor: Good 7) Washer motor: Loud motor noise while spinning. No water to either upper or lower sprayer. I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!

It could be caused by a bad circulation pump. If the pump motor is receiving power but it isn't running, either the pump is bad or something is jammed inside of it causing it not to turn. @@PartsDr do you have any updates on this particular problem during test mode??

I have pressed the power and start buttons at the same time and it does not start the test. An LG technician taught another way but I didn’t write it down. Is there anyone here that can give me that other way to do the test? Thank you kindly in advance.

Same. Nothing happens and my error code is FF which isn't listed anywhere for a dishwasher, only for a fridge 😮

We had the LE code pop up when we tried starting a load of dishes. I ran through this test and when I got to test 5 for the water inlet it struggled for a bit and then threw the LE code at me again and ended the test. Would this confirm that the LE code is being thrown because of the water inlet? Like is it safe to assume that’s the case so I can narrow down which part to replace?

The LE error code is a motor error. This is usually a problem with the circulation pump motor.

@@PartsDr okay thank you. Hopefully I won’t fix the circulation pump motor and still have the inlet valve to worry about. Inlet valve seemed doable for me but not the pump motor. Might end up calling LG to come fix it but they charge flat rate $299 😭

Could you please send the service manual of this dishwasher. While doing vario test my dishwasher shows C43.My dishwasher is LDF5545ST

My door won’t even open. When I go to start it, it shows 4, 3, 2, 1, then nothing. I can’t get any cycle to start, nor will any of these test functions start. The door is completely stuck shut so I can’t even unscrew the top brackets to pull the washer out. Please help!!!

I have a suction noise from the circulation pump wich does not have enough water in the tub. Anyway to fix this? I have the same model. my water valve is open all the way under my sink. Thanks

Possibly a bad water inlet valve not letting enough water in or a bad water inlet guide that is not measuring properly how much water is entering the dishwasher.

Thank you, it's still under one year waranty and does it since day one. I will have it check. Problem is probably what you say, because if I manualy add water during washing cycle the noise stops. Everything else tests fine.

So what does it mean if it randomly turns on, then off, then on again, then off, then on...... the off and on really fast. Then off again....and repeats about five minutes later...and throughout the night, making you go downstairs and pop the fuse.

AE is a "leakage error". Possible causes 1) The Door gasket came loose or fell off. 2) The Float assembly is stuck. 3) The Controller is troubled.

The light rinse aid not working What is the problem?

We can't diagnose your problem over a KZread comment but the sensor on the detergent dispenser could be bad.

My dishwasher seemed to “pass” this diagnostic. However, once a cycle is started, it will run for about 10 minutes before beeping a couple of times and shutting off. Every time there is a considerable amount of water in the bottom of the bowl. Could this be a bad control panel? No error codes present.
