Yes can perform an ohm test on the motors, but even if the motor passes that test the motor can still be bad. Multiple model numbers like this usually means that you are getting the number from the owners manual instead of the tag on the range as we show at 7:03. With the range unplugged, start by checking the power supply to the range by using a multimeter and also look for any burned wires at the terminal block where the power cord attaches to the range.

I've been watching your videos for a long time now to fix several problems on my Samsung fridge. I was looking at this one expecting to find a clue to a problem still persists....: The back cover of it is seatting too much and constantly in the upper right corner, where the ice maker is located. So much that the metal cover began to rust some time ago. I took out the water hose to the ice maker looking for a puncture or if it was out of place with no results. Everything seems to be fine. There is a lot of ice build up aroung the ice maker. I fixed it twice already but I can not get rid of the problem. Could you suggest me something to find a final solution ? I have been asking some other technicians but I had no answers. I would really appreciate yout attention and expertise on this subject. I am getting a 0010 code(thermistor reading out of range). Its the only code I am getting. No ice and freezer isn't freezing. Could this be the problem for both?

0010 code - Freezer Icemaker thermistor reading out of range. If you do not have a freezer ice maker installed, it will be normal for this error code to be displayed.

This can be done through the lint duct in the back without having to take the entire dryer apart. You will be working in a tight area though and make sure you put a towel over the sharp metal edges or it will cut you. All you have to do is take out one screw that holds the lint duct in on the back. Then you can get to and work on that idler pulley. I did mine that way and it was a tight work area but I got it done.

Thank you for the feedback. The technique that you are describing works on some older models of Samsung dryers, but on all of the newer models that we have seen, they have changed the design and removed the rear access panel.

Your instructions were right on and very helpful. Yours was the only video I watched that discussed the test button on the bottom of the ice maker. I pressed that on my old ice maker that I thought had failed and it went through a cycle, dumping ice and refilling. I'm waiting now to see if that was all it needed to continue working. @PartsDr Yes! Had a tech come out and diagnosed a freon leak, but couldn't pinpoint it. So he didn't want to fix what he thought it MIGHT be. Quoted me $900 repair. The fridge is less than 7 yo! Not sure if I should dump more $$ into it or not. Any suggestions?? And thanks for replying!!👍🏾🙏🏽

Would you know the button combination for test mode on a LDS5540ST? There is no “Start” button on the panel. I’m getting an HE error at the end of the wash. Heater element is new so try to figure out what else to check

I did all of this except the control board. Great results for 2 months, now ice is frozen over again and same issues as before. Is replacing the control board the final step I need or did I damage the new parts I already replaced by not replacing the control board the first time?

When everything ices up, it can damage components. The control board in the kit is different than the original. If your model is within the date range, all parts in the ice maker service kit should be replaced and installed.

What do the last two digits on some boards mean? I have an 04 on my board, but I see others referenced that are 07 or 03, and are they all compatible

The different numbers indicate a different part number. They are usually not interchangeable and the parts are usually used on different models of appliances.

My ice maker went out and then the next day the fridge started making a really loud noise coming from the back freezer. tried unplugging for 24 hours and this helped for a day with the noise but no ice production has returned. I did a deep dive and went through all of the diagnostic codes and all came up clean. water comes from the water dispenser. changed the water filter as well. noise is coming from the back motor/fan in the freezer by the condenser. Freezer also starting having some frost as well. Fridge and freezer appear to be holding temperatures appropriately. any idea on how to trouble shoot further so i can order the correct part/parts? would the water valve not working cause the fan/motor issues

If you are getting excess frost/ice build up on the evaporator coil in the freezer, that could indicate a problem with the automatic defrost cycle. This frost can block airflow to the ice maker compartment and cause the ice maker to stop making ice.

My start relay got busted, and I opened it for fun. Can anyone explain to me what the round disk (at 3:54) is and what does it do? Because I decided to peek inside the starter relay for fun and found the disc and I'm not familiar with its use. Thanks in advance. :)

The round disc inside a refrigerator start relay is a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient). It helps start the compressor motor by initially allowing current to flow to the start winding. As it heats up, its resistance increases, reducing current flow and allowing the motor to run on the run winding alone.

@@PartsDr Thanks!!! i figured as much based on information on this video, that it may be that heat sensetive "resistor". It just based on appearance looked almost like an insulator to me because I was not familiar with this sort of part, that i was a bit confused why would there be metal bars going into it on both sides if it was an insulator. Also it also is connected to the triangle shaped connection for the compressor motor (i guessed) so I though it should work as some sort of a switch or regulator or something. I think my "ptc" had failed because the plastic had some browning around it, although it was still in one piece. edit. Just googled and these PTC's are called "thermistors" also, at least in my language. I think i'm at least a bit a tiny bit more familiar with that word, but still never seen one like this.

The round disc inside a refrigerator start relay is a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient). It helps start the compressor motor by initially allowing current to flow to the start winding. As it heats up, its resistance increases, reducing current flow and allowing the motor to run on the run winding alone.
@@PartsDr Thanks!!! i figured as much based on information on this video, that it may be that heat sensetive "resistor". It just based on appearance looked almost like an insulator to me because I was not familiar with this sort of part, that i was a bit confused why would there be metal bars going into it on both sides if it was an insulator. Also it also is connected to the triangle shaped connection for the compressor motor (i guessed) so I though it should work as some sort of a switch or regulator or something. I think my "ptc" had failed because the plastic had some browning around it, although it was still in one piece. edit. Just googled and these PTC's are called "thermistors" also, at least in my language. I think i'm at least a bit a tiny bit more familiar with that word, but still never seen one like this.

Its sad that whirpool knows there is a huge issue in their dryer timer knobs and they dont replace it if ur warranty is out.
