Everybody is different. Potential and success has different levels. Some settles for 10% despite having 100% potential to do great things. I have a family member who is actually smart, has great potential to reach many levels and despite his big qualification he settled for a low rung regular government job (not even a great one). I ask him why and he is simply says he just is okay with where he is. Looking at his life I began to understand that there are potentials in all of us to grow 10X, but despite having so many potentials to level up - which will bring big chang to his/her life, family life, community, society, county etc, there are just too many people who just settles for the bottom, live that regular life and die. Each of its own, but I think how amazing it would be if everybody in life should pursue to reach their fullest potential. Which will let to a more fulfilling life.

One of the best part which i noticed from this whole video that i feel like "Aphasia", basically the conclusion is that, for an entrepreneurs money is the key & for an IAS the prestige is the key, but both mandates have a fear as well as limitations. Likewise, as a IAS you can't afford a expensive things or financial security (Comes with the honest service part), and as an entrepreneur you won't get recognition unless & until your startup won't get SDIT. and the most liked part is: for entrepreneur exit is difficult and for IAS entry is difficult. If your ambition is to help the people out there with your business and make money out of it then go on. Its not illegal. But pls join IAS to make money only. They have lot of power and responsibilities regards laws which impact the flow of business. Regarding 'critical financial emergency' how much benefit should I draw from my consumer so that I can meet my critical financial emergency? I have seen entrepreneurs charging lakhs of money for franchises so that they can chill in their pool waiting for some financial crisis to say 'I collected all this money for this day in my life". Having money for bad times is good idea. But IAS' usually don't die due to lack of money. The contribution they make is worth loosing package of crores and settle at package some lakhs only. @@agarwalvishal00 you got it wrong the IAS service is just the administrative part or to put more simply an policy execution wing in the government only a selected few have a say in policy making that to in there later parts of there career and also the service have red tapism, office politics, corruption ,political pressure, etc. and we live in a democracy so there is no absolute power for anyone and we also follow rule of law so all these things are there it is easy to judge them but its difficult to understand what they are going through. and nobody joins the service to do corruption the power that they get is what corrupts them as the saying goes power corrupts and absolute power corrupts the absolute. you can trace that throughout history. And to be very frank they are really underpaid for the service they provide they are more worthy of it.

Ias officers can earn 2 no. money 10 times of their salary pretty much normally because of the system, then they can make strong contacts with powerful people of that region where they are working with strong contacts and favours their scope of earning grows a lot, they can invest and earn a lot of money from real estate, stock markets and other investments. One thing that is completely overlooked here are the benefits available to IAS or other officers - car, home, help .. a lot is covered. I myself grew up in a similar setting. If done right, govt services has a good pay off in the long run.. I’m talking about overall quality of life.
If you want to do civil services , always remember it's "civil services". You are a public servant. Maybe you don't get to own a luxury car or a home, but you are changing lives. You are in peoples blessing whenever you solve a problem. I respect these IAS officers who gave up their high paying jobs for civil services.

I sense a pinch of cold war between the groups.......Both these professions have their place in the development of our nation...Both must be respected as one adds directly to our GDP and the other is responsible for the efficient running of the system and policy making........I believe that drawing these comparisons are useless in our way forward and we should give up this mindset.....Change will start from us....The hype that our society has put on IAS must be put aside, starting from us, coz we are the future.....Jai Hind!!!

It wasn't a comparison of any sort, it may be possible you are experiencing confirmation bias. I believe the intention was to draw out different perspectives and show the viewer how drastically different two professions can be, yet be similar in the fact that they have their own struggles, and that life as an overarching entity, is a struggle, no matter who you are or what your profession is.

Yes but that's probably in a small village. Let's say I get cadre that includes Bihar. I won't be staying in Patna ( the capital city ) always. The entire family has to adjust in the far flung district. On top of that the average transfer of ias /ips is 2 years sometimes even 6 months so obviously your family has to adjust accordingly. By the time your son / daughter goes from 1st Std to 10th Std he /she has already changed atleast 5 schools ( unless they are in a boarding school) plus your spouse also has to be understanding sacrificing his/her careers. Officers don't have weekends so forget about vacations too ( perhaps once in 2 years). I think the position is too overrated. It's a service and people should not go behind it for any sort of personal satisfaction or else you will be disappointed
