There are a lot of developments popping out in the country on the way to Celaya or in the highway to Queretaro. In all price ranges too Google Zirandaro in San Miguel de Allende 😀

I've been waiting for a video that explains the neighborhoods in SMDA. However, I wish you would have mentioned the highlights of each one or what makes it unique from the others.

Just stumbled upon your useful website/KZread Channel. Plan to retire in Mexico in a couple years and these are super helpful! I'm thinking it might be best to do a year in SMA or Ajijic while I get my footing and work on my Spanish, then move to somewhere less ex-paty, such as Oaxaca. Does that sound reasonable?

Hi Jeri Yeap! Many people do that. Move to a more expat saturated city to make the transition easier Then they move elsewhere when they feel more comfortable Some stay in the same city after a while too. It all depends on you 😀

Loved seeing the neighborhoods. Los Frailes looks very quiet and love that public transportation is nearby. How is the public transportation system there?

The public transportation system is very good if you are willing to take some time to learn it. There are a variety of private buses known as colectivos that take you from one end of town to the other.

we are in Centro visiting. Can you take us to the Guadiana neighborhood? Are there any open houses ?

Just looked at the US State Dept Travel Guidance for Mexico by state. Googling Guanajuato is helpful too.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to that site. The whole country has been on the do not travel or reconsider travel list forever. But once you are here you realize how peaceful it actually is

Man I remember visiting 15 years ago and everything was cheap. of course I was from the area and didn't have to live as a tourist but there were places I couldn't even get to because it was pricey already. if I ever go back I know I don't have to pay rent because I live just 25 minutes away.

Overall a good video. Downside, towards the end in San Antonio, rents are not given and after that rents are shown In pesos only.

Imagine that! Why are the prices inconsistent, in the first part of the video prices are given in dollars and then changed to pesos.

So, the map that you show, and also what I get when I search on google maps, is that Los Frailes is in Celaya - over an hour away from San Miguel de Allende. Is this really the neighbourhood you intended to profile, or is there one in SMA?

It really all depends on the size of the house, the condition it is in, who rents it from you, and a lot of variables. However a good rule of thumb is that the further away from centro, the more affordable

In many older neighborhoods the houses have probably been remodeled and therefor have modern plumbing
