Top Modular Home Companies To Keep An Eye On.
I want to highlight 5 top modular home companies that are worth keeping an eye on this year. One of the top players in the industry, in my opinion, is known for its wide range of customizable floor plans and energy-efficient options. Another company that I think is worth checking out is a German company known for its eco-friendly and sustainable building practices. Finally, a modular prefabrication company that also specializes in high-end, modern designs, is also a great option if that's your style. These are just a few of the top modular home companies that I think are worth looking into as you watch this video, each offering unique and cutting-edge solutions for those looking to build their dream home.

I built a Westchester Modular home in 1996 and it was a fabulous experience. They were great to work with and everything about the build was timely, on budget, and expertly done. The home was great looking, energy efficient and appreciated very well. I lived in it for many years before I moved to another state. I'd use them again in a heartbeat if I was still in their area.
Houses made with SIPS are better for people that have chemical allergies and asthma. They have much less outgassing - and little to no formaldehyde . Very excited to hear this!

Me, too!!!
My only issue with a lot of these companies is that they are usually more expensive 10 traditional houses but they always crow about how cheap they are
Great video, I am very much interested in these homes so I love that you provide us so much info about them.👍
So crazy, I just came across westchester modular homes and they seemed great. Glad to see them on this list!
We looked at Blu, Method, and a couple of other modular companies when we started our project. Here in California they were outrageously expensive for what was being offered. It would have actually been more affordable to do a traditional stick-built home. In the end, since it was for a second home, we went with a cross-mod from Clayton and saved ourselves a little over $500,000.
@Diagonalforward79

I am in California too, thinking about going the prefab/modular route. What was the cross-mod home you ended up getting from Clayton?
@Greg_Knight
Жыл бұрын
@@Diagonalforward79 An additional note. We also considered SilverCrest out of Corona, CA. I really, really, really recommend that you visit several dealers and actually walk through the models and take detailed notes and pictures. Many lot models show mostly upgrades and look fantastic. You need to pin the rep down on what is actually included in the base model. We learned adding or moving windows, doors, etc., was not that expensive. But upgrading to stone counters was expensive so that will be an after-purchase upgrade. The Coronado series, although not many exterior options, is well-built with larger windows and standard 9' ceilings, soft-close cabinets, and actual drywall.

How much is a modular home like in the South Bay (by Gilroy)… I can’t find anyplace to go look. But where I live, regular homes start at 600k. The ones I like are 900k to over a million. It’s dumb

I've long lusted after Blu Homes and Method Homes, but thanks for introducing me to some new ones! I've recently been interested in MEKA Modular, a company based in Canada that ships to all 50 states.
I really like the HWS Global's "resistant to mold" materials and concept because my mom has super high allergies and I think it's an amazing option. Now, the question is, are they builders or do they only sell you the material so you can build it yourself? Do they have a design center? They website doesn't give any information regarding this.

Presently having a modular built by Rochester Modular Homes out of Indiana
Expert bar none! Really knows all the ends and outs of modular homes. Excellent.
I will definitely be checking out Westchester. Also up in NH is a company I have been looking into called Seacoast Modular that seem super into green building.
Thank you for your info about these companies! Looking into both kinds of home and this helped.
Thank you very much for giving us all these companies. We been thinking of going modular with our kids here in California. Best wishes to you & take care.

Wow Kristina, as a superintendent in LA for one of the biggest production builders in the area, this is very interesting information. If only I had an angel investor that would help start-up a company 😂
Excellent video and I love the look of these homes they are very contemporary and not your typical "A Frame" looking houses that are everywhere. My biggest concern is how well do they stand up to hurricanes and tornadoes living on the East coast? And thanks again for another great video!

I wish more of these modular home companies would offer more traditional style homes... It seems like 90% of them all make modern style homes. And my wife and I hate modern style homes. BTW, your videos are soooo funny & entertaining, while still being very informative.

Thank you SO much for your expertise Kristina! We live in MA but are planning to retire to a lakeside property in ME in a few years. I have long been thinking about modular homes as a better option to stick built so I will keep my eye on Westchester Modular Homes for sure. Love LA ;-) Much appreciation!
The fact that none are midwest based means they are all EXPENSIVE. Our housing isn't as overpriced as the coasts so there would be sticker shock vs. traditional construction.
I've always enjoyed your show you're so bright, excited & happy! Reports are fantastic! You didn't mention Boxable ~Las Vegas NV 😮 ,
I've researched a number of "modular" style and kit options and would appreciate your input on some I've found. First, from a traditional standpoint, I've discovered Landmark Homes and Land Co., which manufactures "panelized" shells that offer more than traditional shell homes, because they include the framing inside and out, walls (OSB), subroofing, 2x6 studs,16" apart, so that you're left with more of a structure on which you'd add the rest (most DIY). Next, I have researched quonset homes for their wind resistance and cost efficiency (my property is on the coast of NC). Third, I'd looked at steel structures. The challenges with quonset hut and steel structures is framing the inside. Otherwise, from a cost standpoint, these are clearly the most cost efficient options. Your thoughts?

How do these modular homes compare in price to onsite built homes because some that I have checked out are very expensive.
We’ve been a big fan of the Blu Home design. They were acquired by Dvele a year or two ago. We’re back in the market looking at build option - so back looking at Dvele (Blu homes) as well as others.
Thank you Kristina for these excellent videos, I will probably be wanting one-level accessible with super (sailboat-type) storage for all my library and dishes with multi purpose rooms for office, gym, guest, and possibly therapy pool in MN or OR, 10,000-12,000 sq. ft. Great video! We're going to be considering a modular home that is smaller and NOT necessarily modern-looking. We're in Colorado. Do you have a video on modular home builders with smaller footprints that you'd recommend? Thanks in advance!
I really like the HWS building technology and design. From a fire safety prospective, I was curious about the materials in the HWS Homes since the composite panels are constructed with an extruded polystyrene core and laminate veneer and assembled using polycarbonate connectors. These are petroleum based components. What can you tell me about their fire safety record in the event of fire involving the contents of the home or a grease fire on the kitchen stove?
I live not far from Blu homes and have seen their completed sections more than once on my way to the Mare Island VAOPC...
