Iraq is so ethnically diverse and so many languages are spoken like Assyrian/Aramaic, Kurdi, etc. so the Arabic has been influenced by all those languages. I love iraq!!

The words in the clip were mostly Arabic, some Turkish, and the ancient Mesopotamian languages... But yes, we use some Persian words in our dialect.

The reason why the mesopotamian/baghdadi dialect is so hard to understand by other Arabs is because we actually use a lot of vocab and grammar from Turkish! For example, we add the suffix -siz to words to indicate negation (ادبسز، دماغسز، etc) like they do in Turkish. Even the popular Iraqi saying shakū makū is actually a direct translation of the turkish phrase “ne var ne yok”. There are sooo many other examples but these are just two!
