Ashley, im very curious on the white paint color that you have in the background. Looks terrific. Im scrambling to commit myself on picking a white for my interior. Im indecisive, I was looking at BM Cloud White, Dove White, Simply White or Sherwin Williams Alabaster, Pure White or Snowbound. Do you mind disclosing the white color in the room your in? Thanks.

I think a lot of home decor is so ugly now! It has nothing to do with a home feeling warm comfortable and inviting!

Interior design has become something similar to fast fashion, last thing I knew white and neutrals were the thing…We’ll never be able to catch up if we design our spaces base on current trends, best alternative just to do what ever pleases you, and your eyes 👀

White and neutrals are still a thing, and will always be. They're classic and timeless and that's the best thing you can do to a space....create an environment that is warm and timeless and classic. It's the best return for your investment. ✌️

Never design your personal space for trend, never. Always stick to classic and you will never have a, I just threw this together in one day at home goods. Create what appeals to you and use items and furniture that are meaningful to you. A picture frame a mirror or an antique piece of furniture that you inherited or purchased while on a drive somewhere. A traditional/modern styles home is timeless and expensive looking.

I love the way you talk about warm tones and pastels that we should have as you are sitting in a stark white living room with black accents. L O L.

Three years ago I painted my entire, newly purchased condo with the BM Collingwood color except for the bathrooms, where we used the BM Balboa Mist color. It is easy for me to change the colorful accents/prints/pillows in each room to give it an entirely different look. I've received many compliments. But I just may have to try a couple of these beautiful colors. Thanks for the color swatch tip!

Don't forget the light and airy ones Sherwin-Williams accessible beige for 2023 is a good one. Beige is the new color. And if you don't want to go dark this one is perfect.

I love that color!!! We actually have it as the trim color in our design offices. It's such a great one!

We did our house exterior in Kelly Moore’s Nature’s Gate for the body and Wild Truffle for the trim. With our charcoal roof black metal windows and lower brick body exterior it really grounds the house in our treed landscape. We love it.

Just completed our basement renovation (rec room/office). I painted every surface BM Witching Hour and am in love with the enveloping feel of the room. Hubbys office walls are BM Simply White with Witching Hour bookshelves. Beautiful contrast. Furnishing with large rust velvet sectional and mixed wood tones (tv wall has slated wood walls). Antique brass and black hardware/fixtures. I am so happy with 2023 color trends. Planning a primary remake with warm rusts/brown walls. Baseboards, crown and ceiling! Thank you for your wonderful content. Very inspiring! ❤

I wish designers would concentrate less on trends which could have you repainting your entire home interior every year and more on how to choose paint colors based on aspects of your home that you cannot easily or inexpensively change, such as the colors and tones of wood floors or the colors/tones of your antique furnishings. For example, all the wood floors and furniture in my home are very warm/golden oak. When the trend for years was gray none of the warm or cool undertoned grays worked anywhere in my home.

I have been using the warm neutrals and umbers for years. They add such warmth to any room! Love, love, love them!

Currently building a house and I selected my colors the other day. I like Benjamin Moore because Ace Hardware carries the paint and there are stores in so many locations. I chose Edgecomb Gray for the interior walls and Simply White for the trim. Edgecomb Gray is the in between color that can look more beige than gray and just coordinates easily with home furnishings. It also doesn't have a bunch of strong undertones.

Oh no, we just got out if the reds, greens and yellows of the 90s. Staying with my grays.

This has been very helpful. We have needed professional advice on the color of new flooring. After we removed the carpet, the floor was left as bare concrete for 12 years (since we had no idea how to work with the massive amount of existing tile). That tile is the Satchel color! Now we know what color will work with it. Thanks.

I love pastels! I’ve been living in a depression sweater during the gray years, so I was about to ditch you when you trotted out Pale Oak and its friends. However, the warm colors as well as the pastel ones are winners for me. I do love the jewel tones, but I use them as accents. I love soft, warm, cosseting colors because they’re so comfortable and easy to live with.

Thank you for explaining the trends and how to pick paint color. I watched but didn’t see a trend paired with a lot of orange wood. What tone should I do? Neutral ground looks lovely with furnishing but kinda sick next to that orange wood 😢

I am in the process of selecting paint colors for 7,000 sq. Ft. remodel. I’m thinking of a dark moody blue for entry, DR, LR and main hallway. I’m wondering how that will look if I transition all other rooms to SW City Loft?

I love the warm neutrals and a mix of say one wall, trim or doors of dark and moody. I’m purchasing a home in another state and the seller went with dark and moody but it was a bit too dark for me as the living room has little light. Some pastels have been coming back. I’ve seen a lot of yellow and dark pinks.

I personally like to go a bit on the light side for large, open concept, main living areas and save the dark and moody for more cozy intimate rooms. Congrats on the new house! I'm sure you'll create spaces that are a beautiful refection of your design style.

My house is small. Which colors should I use on walls?

Honestly, it's really personal preference! If you gravitate towards warmer colors in your furniture and accessories I'd go warm neutral. If you like more blues and gray tones go cool. Either would be beautiful with wood tones!

I like dark and moody but suffer from light effect and get depressed in a dark room. I did paint my bedroom in a beautiful darker color but I sleep there and I don't spend much time in there. I also have blackout cell shades and drapery panels.
