Soap on a damp rag that dab your finger on is a million times easier and no mess. Windex cuts the oils in many caulks too much so crack faster from my humble experience. Something like a few drops of Dawn diluted works best on wet sponge.

But spraying before using finger means the surface under where you smooth will not stick...just like it didn't stick to your finger.

Just think of it like this you wouldn't spray window cleaner on a surface and then apply glue ontop of it would you because the glue wont stick so dont do it to silicone because the same rule applies 😂

So presumably you’ve already been in touch with the manufacturers of CT1 to check on the compatibility of the two different products, just to be sure that the window cleaner won’t break down the properties / longevity of the CT1?

Quick tip for you......never apply Windolene before siliconing EVER, its a certain instant fail. Maybe a perfect result but it wont last the crack (pardon the pun)

Quick answer - it's awesome. We put it on for an hour and the whole place is warm for many hours after...I'll do a video on it shortly with a bit more info.

I used a silicone (the same one throughout) in the metal kitchen sink, tile shower, and porcelain bathroom sink. All dried overnight except for the one in the kitchen sink. It’s been three days and it’s still not cured. Why? Does the metal have anything to do with it?

Because it stops the silicone sticking to your finger better than anything else, and it produces an ultra smooth finish on the bead that you run along the joint

@@kennethshull6331 what? The window cleaner wont go all the way under the silicone. It wont effect adhesion to the surface at all. Make sure you dont spray the cleaner until after you apply the silicone. If you spray it 1st then yes it wont bond as well. Also it has nothing to do with the cleaner. Silicone can be cut down and thinned with ammonia. Pure Ammonia will do the same thing. Window cleaner is just cheap and convenient. Soap and water does the same thing to latex caulk. Dont even need the soap honestly. Just has to do with the cutting agent that effects the type of caulk your doing.

And absolutely no difference if you know what you're doing.. You are never supposed to spray on any joint finisher when you ve first not pressed the bead into the corner.

Yes I think so - CT1 is a superior product and longer lasting/more flexible and doesn't degrade in the same way over time

Yes Stixall is a great brand, and I rate them too. I believe CT1 have a different, patented product, hence the cost being more.
