I saw Top Gun for the first time when I was 7 years old. This epic song makes me feel like a kid again. Maverick was my first real role model character and I wanted to fly an F-14 TomCat. What a hit of nostalgia... This cover is absolutely priceless.

This Top Gun anthem and Joe Santriani - "Always with me always with you" will always be the most divine guitar anthems ever made!

1986 - I was 17 years old. Top Gun came out during a time when the cold war was still hot. Ronald Regan was our President. Tip O'Neill was Speaker of the House. A Republican President, a Democrat Speaker. They disagreed but conducted themselves with grace and love of Country. Every day, we worried about the Soviets nuking us. It was a frightening time, but our country and our culture were cohesive. I'd give anything to have that back. This song and this movie remind me of that time.

But, for the last 4 years we've had a President who has not started one single war. And he exposed the war mongers, like the Bush family, for what they are. The whole political system hates him for it. We average Americans want peace. And we want our brothers and sisters abroad to have peace. We also know (well some, I'd like to think most) of us know that peace is achieved through strength coupled with some restraint and respect of other nations sovereignty. When war in your country broke out, it was not really big news here. All we heard was that there was ethnic cleansing going on, and the US and UN had to intervene. I will reserve comment, because I don't feel that I am aware enough of what was really going on.. to us, it seemed like a very distant conflict that didn't affect us. So no one here really had many opinions on it that I can remember. Any war in my opinion is bad.. I truly feel for you and what happened to your country

I was 22. Reagan was my Commander in Chief. I already finished a tour in Germany. Where my first real "alert" in country happened just a couple weeks after I got there. This happened in 1983 I was field artillery gunner on 8 inch self propelled howitzers, and a green newbie at the time. First Sergeant and CO looked genuinely white as ghosts, but I figured that was an act coming from experiencing actors in basic training - the drill instructors. Found out after the fact that the reason they were scared was because this was a REAL alert, not a drill. Russians just shot down KAL 007 ... and we had authorization to pick up nukes. Yes, the 8 inch was nuclear capable. I later served in the section that was responsible for those nukes, we called is Special Weapons and it was an additional platoon, aside from the gun platoons, that didn't have their own gun, but where the keepers and caretakers of the nuclear shells.

What a savage guitar solo

This is the 2nd best part of the movie, after the jets: watching a beautiful lady playing the anthem!! SOO GREAT!!!!

I always loved how this girl played guitar. I'm very proud to have worked with her on some projects (and tracks) and i'm looking forward to see her in the future with some her personal stuff! Nice job Silvia!

She is amazing! After I saw this vid, I looked at a couple of her other ones. How is she not a superstar yet? Or am I missing her elsewhere? I have watched this several times. Never tire of it. Love watching her play! Can't say enough wonderful things.

This was by far one of my favorite tracks off the original soundtrack and I would listen to it over and over before any of the games I played in, it will definitely get you hyped up. I honestly can't tell a difference with this version absolutely phenomenal cover, YOU win the internet with this congratulations!!!!!

This song bring so many memories to my mind. My mother was a "flygLotta"/Swedish Air Force trooper for many years and me and my siblings grew up right near a Swedish Air base. Whenever they where doing flight drills we'd drive down to the airfield and watch the J35 and J37s take off and mom would blast this song on full volume on the car stereo. ❤ So whenever i hear this song i just have to close my eyes to reimagine the squadrons of Dragons roaring overhead. 🥲

@@rudirenntier3175 I think what he means is it was 1986, and Van Halen was running the show at that time. Also, a lot of great guitar players were in their prime during the mid 80s. Stevens, though somewhat known due to playing for Billy Idol, slipped under the radar a little bit. I bet very few people could tell you who played the Top Gun anthem if you asked them. Many, many people could tell you who played “Eruption”.

80s guitar soloing (specifically big hair metal guitar soloing) was the apotheosis of Guitar God playing that took the 60s and early 70s arena guitar rock solos to another level - until the 90s, grunge, and Nirvana came along and killed it and rewrote a different self-deprecating paradigm in the mold of mid-late 70s punk.

i got chills- they're multiplying-

The first movie I saw in true stereo sound at home as a kid and I was blown away. Awesome cover!

ive listened to every Top Gun Anthem since the original. i have Jammed out to this song for 20 years or so on my own guitar. But this was by far one of the best covers and the video was amazing. i did wonder why we skipped the 2nd verse but it was still amazing...

This is the most EPIC solo electric guitar video clip ever! I watch it / listen to it every singe day since I discover it. And also the ONE that made me to buy a guitar (acoustic though) and start to practice it. I use this song as a motivation before my own guitar lessons. And damn, it works every single time, I can't be more pumped up!

Wow girl.. that was awesome 👍 I first heard this theme in a Kawasaki motorbike ad watching TV as a 7 to 8 years old on Doordarshan, India's first and back then its only TV channel. I didn't see the Top Gun movie and roughly 37 years later i catch the "sequel" on Netflix.. I instantly recognized the solo as soon as Cruise gets on his bike to go to work. This riff is legendary and proof that music creates timeless memories that's hard to understand or explain..

I've listened to this now about 60times as it's one of my all time Top Gun films and listening to Sylvya Boschiero playing the Top Gun Anthem is probably the best I've seen this played , by every note and total perfection...
