Having a driver on a car show who can actually drive (apart from the stig) is a plus in my book, and I can't blame the BBC for making such a successful franchise international. I've watched every episode of Top Gear UK and USA and I enjoyed every episode, after all, its all about the cars

It's a great piece, and the editing is brilliant too. There's no need to instantly hit the dislike button for Top Gear US these days. It seems to be pretty good. From an Englander

personally, i prefer UK version 10 times more, but this guy is great, i really like him, and i really like the review of the car, what a beast ! its my favourite, no doubt about that !

I'll admit that I'm not much of a TG-USA fan but even I have to admit that this video was really cool. Living in LA and driving every single one of those streets shown in the video morning, afternoon, and night, it's one hell of a trip to watch. The city at really late at night is a beautiful place to drive, apart from the occasional pot hole. But if you know the road, it's a peaceful drive and it's actually really quiet. Bravo.

Wait if you pay the government to block off PUBLIC streets you can race and do burnouts, but if I do it in a PRIVATE parking lot it's a disturbance and ruining the asphalt.

Martin Taber Propably a 2500hp chevy truck would smoke a 599 gtb on 1/4mile drag race but who cares.Nothing it's like a handbuilt naturally aspirated ferrari engine and it looks so beautifull.You must be really in love to these cars to prefer them.

Great Job Tanner! Nice to see proper commentary, and tastefully produced content! Antics are one thing, but doing it with style takes skills and talent. Top Gear USA seems to finally have found that class!

I think that may have been the best TGUS segment I've ever seen. When he released the kraken on the streets of L.A., I literally got chills. Great buildup of tension and expectation. The epic car being driven didn't hurt, either. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

l keep hoping that Porsche will make a 991GT2, GT2RS.

Turbo is redundant now because all porsche moving forward will have them.

The Porsche used launch control against two cars that had terrible drivers and no launch control. They should have feathered the throttle.

so you're not a fanboy with your comment? lol. Lambo is far easier to type and spell wrong the Lamborghini I can't be bothered with grammar nazi's but to the point. Lamborghini has always made cars for the road. Ferruccio Lamborghini was always against racing, their engineers built race spec cars in secret but under Ferruccio's control they never got the green light for it. So one it has no history. Ferrari on the other hand was only made to fund Enzo's racing team and they are still to date the most successful F1 team. Now excluding racing history and pedigree, if you look at the cars, the Ferrari has always produced more bhp litre, f430 vs gallardo, 458 vs hurracan, bhp per litre the Ferrari has more and now the Lambo is 4WD, people that like to drive don't want 4WD, the 4WD is there for safety and not speed, if it was for speed then why doesn't the P1 or LaFerrari have 4WD? because the 4WD is there so posers don't die. And when Mclaren, Ferrari and Porsche released the P1, LaFerrari and 918 spyder, Lambo was there with that stupid Venono which is just an aventador with kit on. After saying all of this I would still love to own a lambo, they still are great cars and an amazing experience but if you want go fast around a track or really enjoy your favourite driving road, you want the Ferrari or a Porsche GT2/GT3

Best auto maker in the world. Reliability, performance, elegance, refinement, resale value, tunable, and customizable. Tanner should of opted for the even more rare GT3 RS 4.0 For all the haters, the turbo S is one of the quickest to 60, right up there with Bugatti and the GTR

My point exactly. Before there was launch control there was driving skill. They floored those cars while Foust did a clean jump off the line.

Another video proving the Porsche 911 is THEE Greatest sports car ever made. I speak from experience,once you drive a 911 (of any vintage) EVERYTHING else pales in comparison.The 911 makes you feel like you're part of the machine,not just driving a "car". It's a fighter jet without wings. :-)

this and the carrera gt are the greatest porsche ever for car enthusiasts

YOU are wrong. The GT2 RS has no traction control. Plus it has a manual gear box. It's a real muscle car that will eat any of the US counterparts.

It is awesome seeing how natural Tanner's starting to become when it comes to reviewing cars. He might actually have a pretty bright feature in this media. I have to say the other two guys just don't cut it. Don't be ignorant. Those cars were miss handled off the line by the drivers flooring the cars. At the drag strip there are a number of cars without launch control that do exceptional launches. The launches were sloppy. Launch control is just starting of the race with an optimized RPM which can be achieved by proper amounts of throttle with you foot on the gas peddle. The American cars were launched sloppy. I am not an American, I just have common sense and unbiased.

I love Top Gear USA as they really go out of their way to make the show as good as the Original and even if the presenters don't have the same chemistry as the UK trio, they are still three guys that love cars and thats whats most important.

The population of the United Kingdom is just over 62 million. Top Gear UK has over 300 million viewers. Your statement isn't even remotely accurate. Stop comparing a show that has 19 seasons to one that has 3. It's getting there.

I think TopGear USA is improving. We cannot compare USA between UK version. UK TopGear is a comedy car show where the trio go pissed off the world as part of the humor. In USA where everybody is kicking arses with law and bullets, its good to have a car show without offending others. I do enjoy TopGear UK n USA now. Good job to TopGear !

As Able said, this is the real Top Gear as its made by BBC America just like the Australian version is done by BBC Australia. They are legitimate shows just more aimed at the countries they come from.

Finally something acceptable from TG USA

I have a 996 911 2004 turbo & had it remapped with uprated recirc valves. It goes so fast in misty & cool weather boost can go to 1.2 and stay there. In hot weather 0.9 is the best I can manage. Turbos are temperamental creatures but Porsche have a great system that lag is not a problem. I would rather keep my AWD though as it has got me out of trouble many times where my talent has not been as good as the car lol. A GT2 is a monster that needs careful respect. 500 only. Yeah right ! I

I remember that night...i was taking my dog to the vet for surgery with my datsun and suddenly the road was closed.I asked an officer whats going on and he said that some crazy ppl drug racing and they had to shut down the traffic. My dog died..

The thing is viper and nova just have rediclious power to the point where the tires spin if you floor it right away. both the viper and the nova slid side to side when they took off as if with no traction control. Besides germans have always been good with their math and power to weight ratios

They did choose him. He was in the original pilot for NBC, but didn't pick it up. When the History channel gave it a shot; he was busy with a pilot for a TV show(that didn't pick up). Then the History Channel chose Rutledge Wood to replace him. I learned this watching a video of Adam interviewing Rutledge at the Long Beach Celebrity Grand Prix.

That's true.. The balance of the Porsche and its ability to put power to the ground gives it an advantage. I just thought that it was an unfair comparison the way the cars were treated of the line.
