This video was too short , what a beautiful car looks more special than a blower Bentley and should be driven every day, I know I would

Absolutely fantastic machine. I used to race an 3.4 Alvis special with the VSCC and was lucky enough to win a few races but it was never as quick as this car. This probably gives the ERA's a run for their money! Thanks Tom for the upload. Wonderful.

Yes, undoubtedly black livery lends an added dimension of sinister purposefulness, ....just ask Whitney Straight about his black Maser. (nowadays in Bira blue ) , Ralph Lauren's ex-Trossi SSK, and of course Brescia Bug.Black Bess ; in my eight decades I scarcely recall an Alvis with such a goosebump-inducing exhaust rasp, ...not unlike an 8C Alfa or indeed an ERA....

I had a customer, a really nice guy who had two Alvis and they were a beauty to be hold. TBH I had never heard of them at the time but you could tell even though I knew nothing about them that they were something very special.

I'm wondering, with my 'standard' Riley Special, that even if it does have VSCC papers, isn't it just cheating slightly to pretend rhis is a 1930 Alvis? Although, that might also be in the "ethos" of competition!

No music. You're learning! ERA's are few and far between, so if you wanted the next best thing and you had some cash, i guess you'd build this. ERA would be marginally quicker, slightly more power, but this doesn't fall too far short. Sounds the same, must be a straight six. Rather nice. Preselecting gearbox?

Plenty of methanol racecars that start cold with no assistance. Or a little bit of petrol down carby throats or injection stacks. Once started they are fine for the meeting. I know someone running a 13-1 Chev as a 'daily driver' on methanol. None of this farting around with plugs etc.
