When we got here, all we could think about was getting outside and that is why we highly suggest these hikes the first being the Petit Balcon.

This hike is by far the most intensive of the hikes but you will not be sorry when you see what this place has to offer.

2 The Aiguille Du Midi, this is the highest ascending cablecar ride in the world and will leave you... well.. cold... but you'll be looking over Chamonix and other landscapes and a sense of awe! Here is where you can find your tickets today!

3 Paragliding, one of the most adventurous things to do in Chamonix would have to be jumping off the edge of their mountains and gliding over the vally city below!
4 Helicopter rides, there are a number of places to get yourself a ticket to a birds eye view of Chamonix. Here is a company to purchase your own!

Wow... That's a tough question. We would have to say not to stay any less than four days. You'll want some extra days, for just in case the weather isn't perfect for you while you're there. Most of the things you'll want to do will be outside and involve clear skies. The views are what you will love the most. The town itself is fantastic as well though... That's just our suggestion! You start the video saying Chamonix is 1 hour from the Swiss border. Get your facts right, it's 20 minutes from the border heading towards Vallorcine. Goes to show you can't believe everything on the net. BTW you can also ski into Switzerland from Le Tour which is only 12 min up the road.
