    As always very slick and a master class in tidy efficient working Peter ! I particularly liked the perfect finish on the drawer front from the router table, and as a result how neatly it slotted into place ! I keep trying to break my long established habit for measuring everything and instead using offcuts, packers and templates as you do, as it is (obviously) far more likely to result in a perfect fit - good tip on using an offset from the actual board - been caught out by this before !

    I'm thinking of ditching my large table saw for a plunge/track saw, my workshop is too small for it and sometimes lives outside. It's a hard decision though as I'm afraid I would be lost without it. These videos are slowly convincing me.

    Traditionally the rear of the drawer would be lower than the sides. This would stop a vacuum forming, making it difficult to open. As you have cut-out draw handles, air is drawn through the handles to the rear of the unit stopping a vacuum from forming.

    Hi Peter, thanks for the video. As always very informative and helpful. I have a project coming up shortly and need to make and install some draws using draw slides. Can you advise the best way to space the slides evenly within the height available in the unit to ensure the draw fronts all look uniform. It’s one of those things I’m struggling to get my head around. Many thanks.

    I love how efficient you are wit a tracksaw! Do you have any tips how to reliably cut 45 degree bevels for beveled boxes? Is that something you can archieve or is it always trial and error until you find the right angle on your saw?

  • @10MinuteWorkshop

    @10MinuteWorkshop

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks! Bevel cuts are always hard because there are so many ways that the angle can be affected - just your grip on the saw is enough o alter the blade slightly, so I always recommend making test cuts to get it dialled in just right, and if you have a lot to do, leave the saw set that way. 👍

    @@10MinuteWorkshop Thanks for the reply! I saw you doing that in another video, and the result seemed to be perfect. Guess the most accurate way would be magnetic Inclinometer directly on the blade for setup.

    Hi Peter. I’ve recently found your channel and it’s inspired me to make cabinetry my next career change. One thing keeping me up at night; on a previous video you lipped some MDF shelves with softwood before painting the whole shelf. Why would you do that? Thanks!
