    Great video Aaron! Do you have a video on how your using OBS to create fill key from the deck-link using your Chrome plugin. As you know I use it with fill only using the ATEM tools to get it to look as good as possible but I may add a deck link into my PC soon. Juts to add the ability to level up Chat on the air and and using the PC for remote guests.

    H2R Gear, almost forgot about that one. I know there was a lot of buzz at the initial release. But things have quieted down a bit since then. Always nice to be reminded.

    Hi Aaron question, can I switch between macros but using dissolve transition and how to do it??? may be using Companion?? Let me know and thank you so much for your help and work.

    I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. Think of macros like pressing buttons on the ATEM automatically. So whatever you can do by pressing buttons you can automate with macros.

    @@aaronpk thanks Aaron for reply, when you switch for example camera 1 and camera 2 your transition can be a cut, (auto) dissolve or wipe right?? But when you have two macros preset super sources layout and you press macro 1 to switch macro 2 the transition is CUT but I want that transition in dissolve. How I can do that?? Thanks Aaron

    Gotcha, so think about what you would do to get that effect if you were pressing the buttons manually. You'd first set the preview to camera 2, you'd press "mix" or whatever you want the transition to be, then you'd press "auto" to do the transition. Now imagine trying to do that manually with supersource... you can't, because you can't get a different supersource layout in preview. Basically there's only 1 supersource generator, so you can only transition from supersource to an input, but not between supersource layouts. It's not a limitation of macros. (On the bigger ATEMs like the 4M/E, there are 2 supersource generators so you can do what you are trying tho!)

    Will mix effect ever get on the Android base platform?

  • @aaronpk

    @aaronpk

    no, iOS and Android are completely different things to develop for, and there isn't really a way to just rewrite the app for Android without starting completely from scratch.

    @aaronpk someone should, id be willing to pay for that. Just not willing to jump on the iWagon

    honestly I wouldn't think of it as jumping on the iWagon, just get an iPad mini or iPod touch and think of it as a dedicated ATEM touch screen controller.

    I can't support Apple. If my church wants to buy an Apple product, I will use it, reluctantly. IOS may even be a better platform for this type of application, but the stranglehold on hardware and software is something I can't endorse.

    I think the fact that you’re perfectly able to NOT use Apple stuff shows that ‘stranglehold’ is hyperbole at best.

    @@AaronAbernethy a stranglehold on their os and hardware. It's not an open system like Linux, Widows, Android, etc. You shouldn't be locked into a single supplier of hardware, and locked out of many software features that other os systems freely allow. If you aren't allowed to break it, it's not really yours!

    @@DavidRandall58 Windows isn't 'Open' either, and there's a pretty solid argument that 'Closed' systems usually offer the best user experience (it's not even a difficult argument - how many people do you know who run Linux on their daily computer, versus Windows or macOS?) Apple used to allow installation on whatever hardware you wanted… it practically tanked the company. The Open model is great for lots of things, but I've yet to see a solidly reliable piece of 'open' hardware in the same way something from a company that has money and reputation invested in reliability is. It's a philosophical argument, and a religious one, really. But if I'm on a job or have sold a client hardware and need support from the manufacturer…. closed is the only way to go.

    @@AaronAbernethy Windows is "open" in that I can buy it and run it on anything I please. Any manufacturer can make hardware for it. And, it's open in that there's not restrictions in ways that software can modify or enhance functionality like IOS used to prevent 2nd party keyboards. Don't they still prevent 3rd party app stores and launchers?
