TOP APPS FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS AND DOCTORS (8 Must Have Apps For Medics)

Ойын-сауық

Hey team, in today's technophile world, as medics we rely on apps to make our lives easier. In this video I'm checking out the TOP APPS for MEDICAL STUDENTS and DOCTORS. I'm checking out in detail the apps that I use daily to make my life as a doctor easier.
Are there any apps that you use that I have missed from this list? Let me know in the comments as I'm always on the lookout for ways to make my work more effective.
The apps that I talk about in this video are:
⚡️ MDCalc
MDCalc is an app that helps make calculations that we use to stratify risk and make decisions in medicine. It's easy to use, and provides loads of evidenced based detail.
⚡️ PocketDr
PocketDr is essential for any new on call doctor - it has plans that you can check off for unwell patients that you see on call, and it has prescribing guidance.
⚡️ My Shift Planner
My Shift Planner makes looking at your shifts so much easier, it's all colour coded and it takes 2 seconds to work out what shift you're working on any day.
⚡️ BNF Publications
The BNF is the bible for medications and an essential for prescribers.
⚡️ OrthoFlow
OrthoFlow gives guidance on management of fractures and details anatomy, blood and nerve supply.
⚡️ Calm
Calm is a meditation app for when you need that second of calm in your life.
⚡️ Geeky Medics
Geeky Medics is a well known app that can help consolidate your examination and history taking skills.
⚡️ Touch Surgery
Touch surgery provides a 3D step by step visualisation to surgeries and common procedures, helping you perform them or explain them to patients.

hi again just wanted to say I love your videos again and ask as quick question. Do you think it matters what medical school you go to? In terms f getting a FY1-2 placement for example does it make a difference where you went ie. if you went in London more like to get a placement in London etc? and also later on when applying for training Thanks xx

  • @Kiran.Morjaria

Hey Elpitha, not at all. As it’s a national system and all based on scores and numbers which medical school you went to doesn’t really matter. In fact if you went to a less competitive med school your score is actually likely to be higher as your decile score may be higher !
