7:20. Some very important emergency items left off the list: - Headlamp instead of flashlight. - A few fuses in the sizes and capacities specific to your bike. - Small roll of electrical tape. - Small roll of duct tape. - 2 ft of 20 gauge electrical wire (can be rolled to fit inside the electrical tape roll). - JB Weld SteelStik (to repair a cracked crankcase or radiator in order to limp home).

Honestly, in my years of riding so far I never needed a tool kit on the road - only used tools when I swapped my exhaust. However, cleaning supplies and tools for especially chain maintenance and other mechanical components is in my opinion much more important on a regular basis, and something every rider should keep in stock - especially if you ride in humid environments. Keeping your mechanical pieces clean will save you from having to do actual repairs down the line.

Personal thoughts from someone who recently probably progressed from a beginner to intermediate: The disc lock is VERY essential!!! At least if you live in SoCal. Don't listen to what he says though. Your 400 can and will get stolen if you're careless. When I had a R3 and browsed the R3 forums and FB groups, I remember multiple ppl getting them stolen. Also, those accessories should be a 1 time purchases and will stay with you regardless of bike. Personally, I think a disc lock and Kyrpotonite chain should be considered a part of the cost of your bike. On the subject of my first bike, my R3 had a gear indicator, but the next bike I purchased did not. So I immediately went out and bought a gear indicator. If I knew what I know now, I wouldn't have bought it. I never even look at the gear indicator. I thought that I did, but I don't. I mostly forget it's there until it errors out. It's a major PITA to calibrate and is oftentimes inaccurate anyways. It was also kind of a pain to install. Your ears are just as good, if not better than those lil gear indicators for telling you which gear you're in, at least on my bike.

I am new to riding and yet i always wanted a bike, i finally got one and have enjoyed it.. yes a little baby ninja 300. And i use it for city and highway .. and noticed i was exhausted after going 120 to 130 km/hour (canada) for an hour... so i got a sport touring windshield for it and its great now... but would i even need one if i was on a naked bike.. just wondering if you will do a video about wind buffering on all machines you currently have. Passed the MSF yesterday in the pouring rain and crazy wind up here in OK. Thing is I still have to wait 2 months just for someone at the DMV to sign a paper! Anyone know if shops will let me test ride while I wait on the signature?

I never had or heard of a pinlock. I would just use the Rain-X antifog solution wiped on the inside of the visor. You have to retreat it maybe every few months. Works well on car windshields too, which is probably what it was designed for.

I FINALLY settled on a motorcycle upgrade from my 500R......a new leftover 2020 Husky 701 Supermoto. I'm sure Spite would approve. Anyway, point is......I already got $1000 in mods in the mail with another $1000 planned down the road still. lol A couple of upgrades in my first thousand is actually some of the stuff mentioned on the list. Specifically, LED headlight bulb replacements and the Cumpan (yes, I know) cockpit assistant, because not having a rev counter and gear indicator makes me very sad. (Seriously Spite should look into one of those for his 690 if he hasn't already) Motorcycle accessories are never ending. xD

dont drill your visors just yet.. theres a ,,pinlock" visor made by Raleri that just sticks inside with a self adhesive gasket. Been using it and i can recommend it as a less risky alternative

I bought my bike in September and it was cold. Bought some cold weather gear. Put about 800 miles on her since then and it’s getting hot! Just about 90degrees. Now I need some money for a summer jacket and summer gloves at least! I ain’t riding like no squid!

Couple of suggestions. If you're drilling the face shield put some blue tape over the drill point it'll keep a crack from running and if you're hard core remove the fasteners and add some loktite to keep fasteners tight and not rattling. I learned this trick when I was restoring a 49 Panhead which actually came to me in a milk crate. Now go eat some bugs.

In the tools equipment, you forgot to have a torque wrench. I recently had to replace the oil pan because the previous owner had over-tightened the oil-pan bolt and caused a crack in it. Fuuun to change just before the season where I live started...

Do you think an X Pipe and / or Predator Pro Exhaust (which is supposed to be a high speed exhaust that allows the engine to run cooler) would prevent bluing of the header? What accessories would you recommend to protect a bike while someone is learning other than a dresser bar to protect the header? Sliders? Other? I'm looking at a T100 or T120. I would like to know your opinion of these 2 for a beginner. Have you reviewed these 2 models? If so, would you post a link? I through your videos and didn't find anything. Maybe I overlooked it. I need XL Tall size for a jacket / shirts and 13 Extra Wide size riding boots. I haven't been able to find what I want in these sizes. Suggestions? Can you recommend a GPS Tracker for security to be used in addition to an alarmed disc lock? Preferably one that is not easily disabled and can be installed in a location that isn't easy to spot. Where I live the MSF Basic course is available at a company called Total Rider and at a Harley Davidson dealer. Do you think one would be better than the other or that there isn't really any difference? Lastly, What is your opinion of the HJC i70 Matte Black helmet? The Shoei Neotech 2 helmet?
