Big amen on these. When my husband died suddenly I was in the midst of a season of testing that became profoundly deepend with the addition of the Covid lock down. Every part of me crying to God without a palpable response or word from Him. YET I knew HE was there and those very Scripture you read became the foundation of truth I clung to as a Christian. HIS truth is powerful. It was literally all I had to cling to and lean on and in tears I'd pray those verses back to God in faith believing they were true. 18 months later God brought me to a house church where I am loved and being restored in strength. God uses all things for our good and for HIS glory. Praise Him! I share this in hopes anyone who may need to hear this testimony will be encouraged to hold on.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I lost my Dad on December 1 and my Mom had a stroke December 20. I, too, felt lost. I'm glad you are in a better place, as am I.

No, not necessarily true. That is not a promise to Christians. We can quote scripture until the cows come home but unless it manifests into everyday life with something that changes our circumstances then its only words..

@@davidmcclatchey2133 There are some general promisses in the Bible; general principles, if you will. God's sovereignity may or may not allow some to apply to your life. You can have two chidlren; instruct them both in the path of the Lord. The geberal principle says they should follow Him. Reality is: one may choose to reject Him. You can be a saint and suffer your entire life like Job. Verses out of context are a bane of modern Christianity. The cost of following Christ can be immesurable. Still, lower than turning your back on Him.

I believe it dies a great deal of harm with Christians having expectations of God that He never promised then being disenfranchised of Christianity. A lot of preachers don't seem to understand that they are giving people a false hope..

How profoundly comforting I found these words....I cannot express it well enough!

As the spirit led you please bring more like these. It has been a very dark week for me. Couldn't find sleep, failed to pray, so depressed and this comes up. God is good.

This was sooooo needed for me. He is an on-time God. I've been feeling this way for months now. I was getting really scared and questioning if I was truly His, but praise be to God that you post this video. God bless you and your family. And thank you.

Great message. I once lived and breathed god's word but at some point got caught up in worldly temptations and have lived selfishly since then. I have tried many times to get right with God but when you said "One foot in the world One foot out". That's me. Been struggling with it for a long time. It's so difficult. I haven't felt God's presence in so long and I miss it but it's so difficult to focus and to desire god when there are so many things competing for my attention. You made alot of great points. I will ponder on them and those verses today. Hopefully my heart can find its way back to God and be on fire for God, his word, and his plan instead of my own

Thank you Allen Parr. That video speaks of my life now. When my dear wife passed away from Covid in the spring of 2020, I felt super close to God. I experienced Him in a way I never had before. It will soon be two years since the love of my life went Home to be with the Lord, but no I feel empty and distant from God. Perhaps it's because I have not yet found closure. At that time during the pandemic, there were no funerals or burials, and my wife's passing was sudden. I took her to her doctor's appointment, but was asked by security to wait outside. The routine doctor's visit turned into a trip to the emergency room, where she was admitted shortly after. She texted me and told me to go home, and that as soon as she was discharged, she would bake a pie for our wedding anniversary, which was just a few days off. Long story short, she stopped texting me, and the doctor called me shortly after to inform me of her passing. I suppose the emptiness I feel stems from not being able to visit her while she was hospitalized, and then not ever seeing her face again after I had dropped her off to see the doctor. No funeral and no burial has meant there was never closure, and now a strange disconnection from God. But as I read the scriptures you offered on the video, I know for certain God is still near me, just as He was the first year of my greatest sorrow. Again, thanks for the video, Allen.

you aren’t i am as well and i’ve been here a long time and ive been filled with so much anxiety and terror and ive been paralyzed with fear on what i need/want/should do. i keep on getting confused on where i should be and then past sins keep coming to me and i feel more and more guilty and hopeless and hearing the good things makes me scared as strange as that sounds. ive spiraled into so much thoughts and feelings to the point where i even wonder if i really was God’s at all especially because of my sins i foolishly continue to commit. all i want is to know the truth and being relatively young its scary and hard. but i just went off on a tangent but you’re not alone

@@thedidster4547 The fact that you feel guilty about your sins shows that you have conviction, that is the Holy Spirit working within you. If you didn't care about God or you didn't really love him you wouldn't feel any guilt at all. This guilt shows that you desire God and you are ashamed to disappoint him, so try not to worry about whether or not you're saved. Keep praying and talking with God, he is always there for you, through the good and the bad.

Yes, please. The thing I think people search for the most are for scriptures for 1) when we are lonely 2) to help us when others are heartless or want us to respond in ungodly ways and 3) when we face difficult decisions that we feel like either way, the outcome is going to be bad, very unfavorable or unavoidable for us to act. Over the years, I've been blessed to see how God steps in but before learning to trust Him AND seek Him... I'd fight my own battles and exhaust myself to no end... sometimes make matters far worse! Now that I search for God's word, I find myself wishing you had videos that are specifically highlighted in the title and teaching on these things in scripture because your words and teaching sticks. I have lucked up (been blessed) to find a lot of your videos that cover these things within them too though! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with the world. Don’t fear death if your always thinking of being saved and feel guilty of stuff you did in the past you’re on the right road

*Thank you Brother! Yesterday,I don't know - I wanted to go back to my God but God made a way! My Bible app notified me and after I launch it,I saw passage and verses that sbout Faith,Temptation and God's loyalty and eternal love. And I was so SHOCKED!! God really meant me to open that app and He miraculously works in that. I was so amazed. Although I got to experience God's power since I was a kid but right now that I am little bit away from Him,He really cares about me. God loves me - and I feel so bad,I feel like I failed God.. but Nope,He still love me always and that's great. I wished I could die peacefully right now, Because I want to see God himself.. and I really exhausted from this life. All I want is God,and I am WILLING to Die or Vanish at any point just to go to him.. My life is s big big sinful mess*

This video is proof God is listening to me. Ive been through a season that has made me feel like im close to the breaking point. And i know its because of my sins that I am dealing with this. And as the situation got worse and worse, i found myself calling out to God more and more but never feeling like he was listening. So I stopped complaining and started thanking God for i know there is a reason why this is happening whether i see the bigger picture or not. I went through my phone earlier today and found on my notepad app a bible quote that i had saved a long time ago. It read; "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." John 13:7 NIV That was my first sign that God was calling out to me and letting me know i am not alone in this and that he's with me despite my doubts. The second sign is this video, and it's proof (for me) that God is reassuring me that im not alone and that he's here for me. And i know Its definitely him because i dont really watch christian video essays on here. My youtube is usually relegated to geek/nerd fandom. Yet somehow this video shows up on my suggestions list. I know now more than ever that God never abandoned me. It was i who abandoned him. And he's calling me back. With all my transgressions against him, he still loves me and i see that now more than ever.

#3 I forgot all about that!!! All week or so I've been telling myself I ruined my whole life and eternity. Good word, no wonder I felt like I was sitting and receiving no word from the Lord.

6:35 I wish that was true. In my case I'm close to being an atheist since I know I'll never feel any comfort and love from God and not FROM MYSELF. There's times where I prayed for love and comfort from God, times when I needed him the most cause I have no one and nothing happened... Things got worse and I got worse. I read the Bible a few times and listen to good pastors like you on KZread and all it's done is made me pissed and upset. Because at least the people SAW Jesus, HEARD his voice, SAW his performan miracles and yet we will never. I don't want to rely on MY feelings since how do I know it's not MYSELF trying to comfort MYSELF whenever I pray to God? Over the years I didn't have a choice but to hide and bottle my emotions from others and now I have PSTD, Anxiety, Depression, and Insomnia because of my past. You know how every person has needs and wants. Well I just NEED something to hear and/or from God, to know 1 Million Percent that it is from God and not myself trying to comfort MYSELF.

I've been going through alot and the whole time I've prayed to God. I've asked God where are you? I've asked just to feel Him here with me. I've begged him to forgive me of my sins. I know I went away from Him but I cannot understand why these things are happening. These things are the worst things I've ever endured. He knows my heart but people keep putting me down. Those people who confess they don't believe in God. These people have taken my children from me and would not stop until I left my husband. They are my own family. They all have turned their backs on me all my life. They have said things lies to put me down. My mother is the only one who never turns from me. God waited 35 years to give me these children I wanted my whole life. Now they have been taken and are with my family. I know God is there I just don't know why this is happening.

This hit home for sure! I am going through a separation but I know for a fact that God will not allow anything on earth to separate what he has joined together. That being said, I know what I previously mentioned is true, but... My separation has me feeling like I distanced myself from God. I think there should be a video #2 about this topic. Thank you!

Also going through a tough time concerning financial problems but God always comes through....but yet there are those times that you feel far from Him and it seems that this dark clouds just don't want to subside. I needed this so much. I've recently fallen back into sin that God has freed me from. The weight of it has been crushing me. I've repented and pleaded with God to not allow my transgressions to hurt others. Even with doing that, I feel so distant and anxious. Thank you, Brother Allen for this video. God's word really is sweeter than honey, like living waters... I am so thankful that God has led you to make this video Allen, every single verse was talking to me as I am battling some time that I have been feeling disconnected as if left on my own?? (i don't know how to best explain it...) so I waited and waited on God to bring freshness and refreshment to my heart, mind and soul... and here your video!! God is good, wonderful and His mercies neverend... I wonder if we are going to ever fully understand His fullness... what do you think Allen? will we? In the meantime I thank Him for I cannot escape His love! I love these videos too Allen, it is God's word and I've always found you easy to understand, so it would be great if more of these could be made. I am thinking about subjects that we don't hear much of in church, but are a reality in many believer's lives too. Like depression, anxiety, loneliness.... I remember once sharing something about one of this subjects mentioned and I was straight off told "A heart that has Jesus cannot be sad!!" which brought doubts as to whether I had Jesus or not in my heart... not comforting at all!
