    Never noticed the "you guys" until the comments here. In our neck of the woods it's pretty common. I suppose if I thought that I was the same calibar player as "those guys" I might find it condescending, but my guess is that most of us are not ( that's why we're watching). So you guys just keep being yourselfs and disregard commments about delivery. Your content has been a great help to me and others.

    Great video! I can feel all the items listed and probably the biggest one is lack of drilling. Most things intermediate and below believe the rec games will do it - they won’t. Drilling and practicing should be cornerstone - as “you guys” (lol) said, repetition is key! Again, awesome content!

    For the resets and drops in the transition zone that Jordan was doing, I noticed that you were using a short, slow, slice blocking motion on both the forehands and backhands. Is that easier to control for a drop reset shot than the regular up and through motion, especially when under pressure or dealing with shots with pace? Also, for the shading when you are in the transition zone, how should you shade (towards the side the ball is going to or away from)?

  • @BrionesPickleball

    @BrionesPickleball

    Жыл бұрын

    I may shade a tad, but the most important thing is to get in a wide low stance. It may look like I’m slicing the ball, but I’m more just lifting the ball up slightly. It may have a little bit of slice, but not much

    Good list of mistakes to avoid, thanks! For #4 (don't always be stepping back from the kitchen line), you didn't point out one key aspect of how Jordan handled the situation in which he decided to step back: his next shot, the one he hit after stepping back from the line, was a soft, controlled dink, designed to land near his opponent's feet and to give him *time* to step back up to the kitchen line.

    For the skinny singles drill, we usually start by serving cross court and then the server moves to the receivers side (almost as if the server was stacking). This makes the server and receiving the serve more realistic (at least it seems that way to me). Is there any reason not to start a skinny singles point that way?

    Jordan and Caden - please know that a lot of people don’t agree with this comment. Here in Ohio, and all over the Midwest, we ALL say “you guys” ALL THE TIME!!! Raised in Virginia, and living all over the mid-Atlantic and the south, (AF brat turned Army wife) I used to say “y’all” all the time. As an educated, upper middle class person, I feel like we are PB friends when you refer to to me and all of your other subscribers as “you guys.” 👍🏼🎉 It's most definitely not condescending! Condescending would be calling us “idiots” for not wanting to drill or practice. Cuz that's what I think you are if you never drill. 😜 (DUPR 4.23, age 56)

    @@BrionesPickleball I play hockey and train UFC. And if you had any athleticism, strength, and testosterone you would too.

    Honestly, if we were the same caliber players as Caden and Jordan, we would not be watching this video!
