Please do a mid/low range work boot series! I feel like alot of the guy that watch your video like me are wearing boots like wolverine, redwings work series, timberland pro, ect. Boots in that $100 to $230 range with steel toes or safety toe

I can dig this as well. Georgia boot, Wolverine, and maybe a couple others. I specifically wondering if you’ve done any of the Wolverine moc toes. I see mixed info/reviews about the i90. Some places says it’s American made with a Goodyear welt and some places don’t really say.

Would be interesting to see one of the Keen work boots too. They have a pretty big line of work boots and shoes.

@twinglock40z im not sure if its a true goodyear welt or not but they are super comfy and reduce foot fatigue alot! Been working in factories in the midwest for about 10 years now. I have went though a lot of boots 2 pairs a year and these are my favorites by far!
I bought my first pair of Grant Stone Brass boots because of your videos and wanted to see for myself if they were really a great product... I love my boots since day one Thank you! For your videos keep up the great work 💪💪
Love you having to reassure the men to stick around and explain to them there are women in their life who might enjoy boots lol. As one of your female fans I went from getting knock off docs, to real docs, to Nicks, to omg I can't wait until my nicks arrive so I picked up some Redbacks while I continue to wait for my Nicks Urban Loggers in about a year's time. I might not do construction anymore, and I wish I had looked into quality boots then, but I can still appreciate something that's going to last, something that's going to hold up, something that will be just as comfortable on cement floors or a wooden stage, in my garage, traveling or anything else I put them through. I'm a little curious to see if TSA questions why there are so many nails in my boots when I take my Nicks to Germany
@paulwilliams667

LOL “working” construction. Every once in a while I see women on site. They always seem to have clean clothes and boots, with a guy nearby to do the heavy lifting.
Weston. You're the Beston! Your reviews are so much more informative and fun than the other boot review sights . Keep it up buddy ! 👍👍
I e got one pair of boots and it’s some Red Wing 1907s, I’ve been loving them for the past year, worn almost every day. So glad you got your hands on a pair and got to rank them, totally agree with all rounder status. I climb trees, do light work, lots of walking (college campus), and much much more in them.
I bought a pair of Redback's based off this channel. Never thought I'd love to watch boots be cut open, but here I am! Looking to add some Red Wings and possibly some LEMs into my rotation.
I bought my grant stone boots a year ago and I will admit it’s one of the BEST quality boots that I own. The leather and craftsmanship are amazing and seriously will compete with alden, carmina, etc
Absolutely love my Carolina CA7811 boots! They're built arguably as well as the Red Wing's and Thorogood's. What ultimately sold me on the Carolina's is they're super comfortable right out of the box and have almost no break-in period like the Red Wing and Thorogoods. They're as comfortable after 2 years as they were the first day! The Carolina's are $80 cheaper than the Thorogoods and $100 cheaper than the Red Wing's, too!
This is one of my favorite channels I really enjoy your videos I’m so glad I found this
I bought my 1907's on October 2nd and I absolutely love them. They're fantastic boots and rotate well with my iron rangers and premium Timberlands.

I second this and I felt like I broke them in a few days
Great video. The only Moctoe experience I have is one that wasn't listed. I have 2 versions of the Wolverine 1000 Mile. They have a Alden Indy meets Red Wing look. The wedge sole with the soft Lux leather is really comfortable. The other pair has a traditional heel with a much stiffer leather. The heel wasn't balanced well, so I had it reworked, which made it much more comfortable.
I am a dairy farmer and have been for almost 50 years. My boots go on at 4 am and come off at 8 pm everyday. I have worn Red Wings all my career and absolutely love the durability. I can get a year out of them and then a resolve and get another 6 months. My problem is now finding my size. I wear a size 16eeee boot and my shoe dealer has told me that Red Wing is no longer going to be making that size. I have been doing internet searches and can’t find any of the quality boot makers making boots in my size. Really don’t want to go to sneakers or hiking boot so if anybody could give me any leads I would greatly appreciate it.

I would suggest looking into Franks Boots. They do a lot of custom work and you can send in a fit sheet so they can build the boots to your exact foot shape. The boots are going to be expensive but you can send them in to get resoled as well as rebuilt (removing and replacing the sole and the lower section of leather on the boot). Those two services will grant you lots of longevity with your boots. Hope you are able to find a boot builder that fits your needs!
This a great and informational video about moc toes! So cool of you that you did your research and showed the different aspects of each pair of boots!👏
Well, I really like my White's Perry. Price and materials are a great value. The fit is spot on. I have been wearing them in the house cause I don't want to ruin them in winter time. I thought my Danner Bull Runs would be ranked a little higher. I got 3 years out of them before I had them resoled. And, they had heavy use in the transportation field.. I did also get another pair of Danners for weekends cause they are the best looking black leather I have found. I will think about the Red Wing 1907 cause you make that a better boot then the Iron Ranger. Thanks for a outstanding series on Moc Toes. They are my favorite type of boot and, I know I am a small segment of boot wearers...
I went with the Carolina CA7811 (steel toe), partly because it's US made in a union but mostly because it was just the most comfortable out of all the ones I could try, including Red Wing and Thorogood. I really wish you'd do more steel toe boots, even if you dedicated a second (third) channel just to safety toe work boots.

You'd better be donating or buying from the sponsors to help pay for those extra saw blades! 😉😆
I picked up a pair of Allen Edmonds Freeport boots on Black Friday and have been very pleased with them. Definitely more on the fashion and less on the job site side but that is fine with me.
I have the 1907's. I don't have the Grantstones. I would also put the 1907's at #1, but strictly by personal preference. I completely believe that looking at materials or construction quality, the Grantstones may have a slight edge (though I think some of the "advantages" are preference based). Being that I am a regular guy living in the real world, though, I have to admit that some things that might not objectively matter or things that we are supposed to ignore in certain instances for the sake of comparison are still going to matter to me. I like the heritage and history of Redwing. I like that the 1907's are made in USA. I also very much appreciate the value of the 1907's, looking at what I get vs what I have to spend. So, when I look at the fact that the 1907's cost less while simultaneously being made in USA, along with the very high quality of the boots, it's an easy choice for me.
One of my favorite moc toe boots for work are the keen Cincinnati comp toe work boot, the boot is great, I am going onto year 4 wearing the same boot for work with no complaints. The only thing I have done to the is a resole and they put the Redwing sole on them. Little breakin time and leather has lasted thru my ethanol job.
Never heard of The Morning Dram, but that coffee sounds great! @morningdram I paused the video and bought some coffee...then came back to the video, so your ad dollars worked. Looking forward to trying the bourbon coffee
Just got these Georgia Boot wedge moc toe.. pretty comfortable. 2 week break in. Straight up: runs half size large despite EU sizing, it's off, trust half size larger. Shrunk the toe box area with dampening the leather with water and parked in front of the heater
Because of this channel I bought the whites perry 8inch and I don't regret it for a second they're awesome
Great ending for a great series! Thanks for this!
I purchased the Rock Rooster Moc Toe for work off of your review and they have held up really well for about a year of medium duty use. I would even be tempted to put them top 10 in the overall rankings with a decent leather and resoleable Vibram wedge.

I have to agree too. I put a pair through 9 months of extremely hard factory use including lots of chemical exposure and my 300 pound bodyweight. They are captive boots, so I did not condition them. They are almost as good as new now that I put new insoles in them last week.

Great review! I really enjoy the videos and content. Definitely getting some coffee.
Really enjoyed this series, thanks!
It is very fun watching ranks for a particular type of boot. Please consider doing more series like this. Chelseas rankings or pull on boot rankings perhaps?
I just ordered the belt from you today I am stoked about getting it
I went with the Perry from Whites your last year moctober winner and 2 pairs later I had to return them. Their customer service was good just the boot has shank issues. Both right boots had the shank come loose or break and popped and squeeked very loudly. This thime I went with the RW 1907 an have about 24 hours into the break-in and it has been a much more comfortable to this point when compaired to the whites. The 5 mm is foot bed with the RW is much nicer to stand on then the 3mm you get with the whites. I put the insoles that came with both boots in other shooes and just stand on the leather footbed. Thanks for cutting up the boots and enjoy watching your channel
Years ago, I wore the Sears Diehard moc toe boots. Really liked them
I bought a pair of Thorogood moc toe slip-on boots, I'm a welder by trade, constantly on concrete for 8-10 hours a day and then working in my shop when I get home. These boots get worn every day, get showered in sparks every day, and I love how comfortable they are, but after six months they're already coming apart where the stitching is on the sides.
Great Ranking! Love the 'stache' too!
I got a red wings 1907 a month ago based off of research mostly from this channel and they're great. The break in period is still going but it's not nearly as bad as I thought it'd be (though I don't do heavy work with them so that's probably why).

i think most people who complain about really bad break in just got boots that were too small, assuming that "it should be painful at first", and theyre having to wait extra long for the boots to stretch out way more than they should to even fit their feet.
Irish Setter Ashby or Carolina AMP Moc Toes are pretty damn good. In my humble opinion. I don’t remember you ever giving them a look. And I don’t know what you’d find inside but they are great boots for standing on concrete floors. Not to mention the Ashby is a hell of a bargain.

I completely agree with the Carolina AMP boots. They are extremely well made and comfortable from the minute you put your foot into them. I don’t see much if any downside to them for what your paying for them.

Would love to see you review the Keen Cincinnati moc toe boot. Been wearing it daily on the job site and I’m impressed so far! Thanks!
I found out there's a big tradition of boot making in Indonesia and you can pick up custom handmade boots for a lot less than other places. Would like to see some of those boots get cut apart and hear your opinion on them.

I watched some reviews that Rose Anvil did on Indonesian boots and decided to give Sagara a shot. Hand-made by Bagus in Indonesia with quality materials. I opted for their hiker boot with green Badalassi veg tan leather with a wedge sole and they are absolutely beautiful in hand. Quite heavy due to the amount of leather but none of my boots turn heads like the Sagaras. Absolutely recommended. They’re my favorite (next to the Nicks mic toes I recently received which are superb) currently within my boot line-up that includes multiple red wings, grant stones, Allen Edmonds, etc. The only issue with MTO is the lead time but the wait is well worth it for a custom boot.
Great job as usual... Keep up the great work!
Hi Mr Anvil! Great channel! love watching your vids. I was wondering whether you would contemplate doing some tests on British/European varieties of shoes? Over here in the UK we can get some US made boot brands very easily (namely redwing, thorogood, Danner etc), but others are harder to come by. However, there are lots of European made boots (I just bought a nice moc toe boot from an online store that's made in Portugal for what seems like great value) so might be interesting content to compare the quality against US boots? I would be happy to assist you in sourcing any boots to be tested etc! All the best! Keep up the good fight!
The best boot for hiking and walking is the Nick’s Ridgeline, but not in the standard configuration. I just received a pair of the 6-inch Ridgeline with the Vibram “Unit Lug” sole and padded collar. 💯
I lived in Gotham and lost for more than 3 decades, now I am learning about Moc Toe in Rose Anvil 🇺🇸. I am finally landed on The Earth.🙏👍🙏
Irish setter Ashby is a good bargain boot. Was very comfortable to me. I tried a pair of Thorogoods, when you could get them on sale for around $160, and even though I wore them out I never truely ever felt comfortable in them. Something with the heel never felt right. I've got the White's Perrys now and so far I'm liking them way better then Thorogood.
Rose Anvil. You should consider cutting in half the Rhodes Moc Toe Owen Boot. It is a relatively inexpensive boot ($265) made in Mexico. It would be interesting to see what you think of the upper leather quality and how they are constructing internally. I think many people would be interested to see how they stack up against Thursday boots.
Been in the trades for 17 years and found wedge soles do not have enough grip for most jobsites. That's why I went with the Thorogood 1957 8" flyaway boots cuz they come with more aggressive soles and are waterproof maybe. I'd love to see a real world test between the wedge and the more "northwest" style soled Thorogoods 1957s.
I love your channels. You have saved me from wasting a lot of money
I’m a small engine mechanic. I switched to those minimalist lems about a decade ago and they are wonderful. No back pain from walking on concrete all day.
Wear a 1907 on most work days as a general contractor. Really great boot….after the break-in 😂
Love the channel! As a boot lover it’s kinda asmr for me. I wear RedWing 8830s for casual, 877’s brother I guess, and Irish Setter Wingshooters (thinsulate) for work. Considering adding a pair of 8” Nick’s for, well just because. I actually like the Wingshooter for work so much I don’t even want to try anything else. I can’t seem to find it cut apart on your channel anywhere though. I would love to see a test on the Wingshooter line. Thank you
I’m in my 3rd season with the White’s Perry. I’m on my second sole and I would buy them all over again. I think next Black Friday I’m going to get one their higher end boots.
I really wanna see you review the Whites Fulton honey lug moc toes they’re fairly affordable for $340 I’m currently obsessed with them but waiting to see if you make a video first before purchasing I will probably try them anyways as soon as the snow clears
I think the Georgia Athens series are technically moc-toe boots and they're right up there with Thorogood on my list of favorite work boots. Most of them aren't wedge soles but I think there might be one model that is
Thank you for the content. I enjoy the reviews and information, especially since I’m just getting into boots and becoming more knowledgeable of what to look for in a boot. I also think the Lems boulder summit is not a bad looking boot. I’ll be sure to use your link when I get around to ordering a pair. Again, thanks for the content.
I love the Redwing, I've only had one problem in 18 years with the tongue, they fixed quickly. Haven't seen a 405 review, can you do one if you haven't. Love your videos. I've bought other boots from watching you.
My favorite moc toe is the Thorogood 6-inch midnight series. Though, I don't wear them for work.
I love the whole series! I just saw this recently but can you do a review on the Jordan 2 low Responsibility, they say it's pretty good quality
I’m sure there are others on the same page but please do more boots with a safety toe option. Most of these aren’t even in consideration for me since there is no safety toe option. One I have been looking at is the Red Wing traction tred lite 2440 option. This looks like the total package for value and craftsmanship!
Surprised not to see White's Moc Toe in the review or on the list. Got them for Christmas and couldn't be happier.
I do agree with if the Red Wing turns out as #1, especially if you consider a global availability standpoint. Just because it's everywhere, with a lot of cobblers familiar with working it and the spare materials are already accessible outside the US. 😅
I think the 1907 is so high because fewer people have the Field Boot. When I get tired of boots, I put on the Field Boot because it is so comfortable.
I have 3 Grant Stone boots and love all of them. But now it’s about to be 4 with the Field boot.
I look forward to your Frankenmoc of taking the best from different boots to make the Monstermoc.
Awesome video! Keep it coming.

Please review Irish Setter Ashbys, Wolverine I-90 moc toes/Wolverine 3173, Skechers moc toes please! Also Double H DH 3567! All great boots with my experiences as a Union commercial electrician! Very interested to see the results! Great video as always bro!
Super ! A finale 2022 of 'dress' boots (Thursday style) would be nice.
I just bought the Vans Colfax Boots and i love it. U could review them. They are really diferent from thos MTE vans your reviewed. At least from the outsite
Would love to see the Grant Stone Brass boot cut in half and ranked for this year’s Moc-fall/winter 😂
would love to see an RW Tred Lite review. Also curious if it can be re-soled.
Hopefully you get to see this. But I'd love to see a military boot roundup/reviews. I'm in the military and basically live in my boots for 12-16 hours a day. I'm looking for a boot that's durable and comfortable. For my criteria it has to have safety (steel/composite), 8" tall, black polishable leather (toe and heel at a minimum). Waterproof is a plus.
Would you consider doing a video on the Clarks Durston Hi warm lined. It's also a mock toe. I just bought a pair and am curious about it's construction and you do a bang up job at dissecting and explaining what makes a good and bad boot
love your channels, could you review the Gokey Sauvage Hiker, and Go Ruck boots. Thank you
great vid bud.. would there be any chance of you doing a vid on the Grinders Alpha moc toe boots ... id love to see them cut in half and see whats inside
I hope you'll be able to check out the Truman moc toe next year.
One your value picks in the past is the rock rooster. i wanted to let you know their build quality went downa lot for the ones I got my brother vs mine, so was curious if you had a replacement
am relieved I found your website! Thank you! My dilemna, Way back in the 70's I had a pair of JC Penney unlined eight inch leather moc toe vibram sole boots. I cannot seem to find a pair for less than 200 bucks, am I out of luck? Suggestions desperately requested. Am tired of the 'athletic' shoe style hiking boot. I gravitated to the Desert Storm Desert boot by McRae? or Altama?
Just got my first bag of dram! Got the rye mexico
That sweater thingy rules!
Very cool video and rankings. Some surprises in the community vote for sure.
Thorogood is definitely better because they're not overpriced, they are comfortable without needing a special last, and are a perfect wedge sole work boot at a decent price. They have a solid place / purpose. The Alden is kind of lost, more of a high top dress shoe than a utilitarian boot and the materials aren't as premium as the price when that matters even more in the world of dress shoes. BTW if I'm not mistaken, Weinbrenner sources their leather from Horween, no the Thorogoods aren't Chromexel ( the 1892 series used it though) but the leather is tanned by Horween, and unlike the aldens there's no heavy pigment on top.
I've been a fan for 2 or 3 years now. And I sat through the review of the men's boots until you got to the ones I was interested in. I guess some of us have more patience.
I'd love to see you cut into a pair of Truman boots, they have a moctoe, and also have their own "commando" lug sole that looks interesting
I just wanted to let everyone know I just got a pair of Red Wing classic mocs for 40% off from Red Wing store. Super excited 185 bucks for a pair of boots that will last me years to come.
A review of the Jim Green razorback but with their wedge sole would be amazing
What happened to the Russel Moccasins that were in one of your early Moctober videos!? Was really looking forward to that review.
Love to see a breakdown of the best duck boots on the market
Have you reviewed the Russel Moccasin Co. boots? They look like they might be amazing. I would love to see how they breakdown.
Would love to see a halved and reviewed L.L Bean Bucksport Work Boot Cap Toe
Truman boot co, upland moc toe may rival the nicks boots moc toe in terms of quality. It would be cool to see one of those cut up. Also the redwing 877 is not the same construction as a 875. The uppers are completely different in style and construction. Nice video series, thanks!
Great video. I would definitely take Grant Stone, Redwing n Thorogood b4 the Whites Perry. My favorites are Nicks Moc Toes, was fortunate to get a custom build b4 they stopped doing customs. Lovin my Saint Nicks Santa Moc Toes. Thnx for the video n I didn't see a Truman Upland Moc? Curious how those are

Would love to see the LEMs Chelsea boots reviewed!
No Thursday? Also, I've had my Redwing 1907's for 10 years and they still look incredible. They are due for their first resole finally.
Just ordered a dark burgundy field boot from Grant Stone and came across this video. Validation feels good😊
Awesome!!!! Love my 1907
I ended up with the Ecco Stakers. They are only 130usd here in Norway. And as far as I can see they are the only ones Who isnt super slippery on ice and snow. The red wings looks like they Will be like converse on snow :P
eagerly waiting for the 2023 Moctober.
Love this, any plans to rate the luosjiet moc toe boots?
Could you do a review on Irish Setter Ashby's? Between them and Thorogoods, they are the most common boots I see on Commercial construction projects. Thanks!
