As a local, I can say Siam is one of the safest areas to stay in Bangkok. It is also one of the most family-friendly due to its limited nightlife venues. Furthermore, it is convenient to explore the city from Siam as it serves as a transportation hub of the capital. You can take a BTS train or taxis (or even buses, but I do not recommend) to reach other tourist attractions, such as the Grand Palace.

How to Get to Siam from Bangkok Airport:
I recommend scheduling private transportation in advance with the hotel or Intui.travel (intui.tp.st/wOkUzABa) to facilitate your arrival. This option will cost more, but you won't need to wait in line for an hour for airport taxis or worry about getting scammed.
Still, airport taxis are also reliable if your driver uses the meter (97% will if you get in at the airport terminal). Always refuse their offer if they try to convince you to visit "their favorite restaurants" or "shops."
Trains are a viable option only if you have a few small suitcases. They are not cheap or convenient for those with large suitcases.
